Summer Greetings with Junell Kruzel

Hello, friends and hello summer! It’s Junell here sharing a couple greeting cards I made using the June 2021 kit and extras. Everybody, including myself, loves to get some happy mail and the cheerful, summery colors in this kit are sure to put a smile on someone’s face!

Supplies | June 2021 KitJune Labels, Summer Label StickersNavy Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers, Good Times Paper StackCelebrate Summer Stamp

Both of my cards started with a white cardstock base sized at 4.25 by 5.5 inches, one landscape and the other vertical.

For the first card, I had a ton of fun stamping! I used the sun stamp in the Celebrate Summer Stamp and three different colors of Distress Oxides: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, and Salvaged Patina. These are three very bright, summery colors.

I randomly stamped the Mustard Seed color with the sun stamp all over the front of the card and then did the same with the other two colors, spacing them out as evenly as possible.

The Navy Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers are perfect for the sentiment on the front. I spelled out summer with the alphas and used the Celebrate Summer Stamp to stamp the word “celebrate” above “summer” in a solid color, as well as the outline to give it some definition. I used the same outline word to do second-generation stamping. It adds life and movement and excitement for summer!

On my second card, I played around with 3 x 4 inch tags from the June 2021 Kit and patterned paper from the Good Times Paper Stack.

The warm tones of these 3 x 4 inch tags and the papers were perfect. I trimmed the left and right sides of the 3 x 4 inch tags to fit them onto the white card base. The leftover piece of the striped card was then turned sideways and placed under the “Hello Summer” tag to add some interest. I then measured and cut the paper and also used a June Label to fit into the blank spaces. I used die cuts from the June 2021 Kit and also Summer Label Stickers to create small clusters which I placed around the card in a visual triangle.

All that’s left to do is decide who will receive the happy mail, write a nice note inside, and place it in the mail! I hope this encourages you to send some happy, summery mail, too! It will be loved! Thanks for reading!

Good Times Paper Stack Perfection with Amanda Baldwin

Hi Elle’s Studio Friends! It’s Amanda here, and today I’m shining the product spotlight on the Good Times Paper Stack! I just adore all the bright colors and bold patterns in this fun paper stack, plus the designs are super versatile too! Rather than rave about my love for the Good Times Paper Stack, let’s take a look at what I’ve created!

Supplies | June 2021 Kit, Stars and Stripes Chipboard Stickers, Acetate Star Stickers, Patriotic Acrylic Stars, Cork LabelsGood Times Paper Stack

There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating with the Good Times Paper Stack, so to showcase these beautiful papers I decided to use 5 different designs on my scrapbook layout. Let’s take a closer look at how I achieved this:

To start with, I opted for a playful, machine stitched, layered rectangles design. This is such a fun look and is super easy to make! I trimmed 4 of the Good Times patterned papers to 1 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches long, and arranged them in descending rows from 5 paper rectangles down to 2 rectangles.

I machine-stitched across the top of each paper row, and to add a bit more interest, lightly rolled the paper rectangles. This really enhanced the ‘lift the flap’ appearance of the Good Times paper rectangles, and it was simple, but so effective!

The fifth paper featured on this page is that awesome black and white cross design. I used this Good Times paper to back my foam-mounted photograph. The contrast of black and white against all those brightly colored paper rectangles is really striking and draws further attention to my photograph too! Winning!

Even though the Elle’s Studio paper stacks are 6 x 8.5 inches, I love to maximize them and form the appearance of them being a full 12 inches. On this layout, I perfected this look at the base of my layout by butting two 1 inch by 6 inch lengths of the same paper together. To make the paper joins less visible, I positioned my June Kit 3×4 inch fussy cut tag “Hello Summer” title over them both.

To complete my layout, I embellished with a mix of Cork Labels and all the stars from the June release. A really beautiful page, thanks mostly to those Good Times patterned papers!

Tell me, what will you create with the fabulous Good Times Paper Stack papers? Be sure to upload your creations in the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or tag #EllesStudio on Instagram so we can share more inspiration with our caring craft community! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Tips For Using ALL of the Colors with Shannon Dombkowski

Hi there, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Shannon here, showcasing how you can use the beautiful June 2021 kit and add-ons in your pocket pages. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the colors in this kit? I had to use them all on my page! The end result makes me so happy. Since I did use so much color on this page, I wanted to use a few design techniques to tie the page together so it didn’t become too overwhelming, and I’m here to share those with you today!

Supplies | June 2021 Kit, Summer Label Stickers, Celebrate Summer StampWeekend Stamp

Do you see all the stars? When I chose to use the yellow 3 x 4 inch tag with the stars down the side, I knew that I wanted stars to be a repeated element on my page. I intentionally chose die cuts and stamps with stars. I even used the small star from the Weekend Stamp to check off boxes on that weekend list 3 x 4 inch tag! Stars everywhere. But they work to weave a thread of consistency throughout my page.

Next, I used a repeated phrase on three of my photos. I took one of the seals from the Celebrate Summer Stamp and inked only half of it. Then I stamped it along the edges of three photos. I stamped in black in part because it works better on photos, but also to make it stand out against all of the color on the page. In choosing my photos, I made sure they were in a visual triangle on my page.

Finally, I used one of my favorite design techniques lately. You’ll find this on a lot of my Elle’s Studio layouts. That technique is tone-on-tone. I love using die cuts or stickers to achieve this look. On this tag, I used a mix of two Summer Label Stickers with a die cut from the June Kit,. I couldn’t find a yellow label sticker that had a sentiment that I wanted to use, so I used an exacto knife to slice right above the phrase and then just adhered that piece to the bottom of the tag. Tone-on-tone is such a fun way to add subtle accents and texture to your pages. I finished off the tag with this fantastic stamp from the Weekend Stamp.

I hope that I’ve inspired you to try a new technique or two on your next layout. I’d love to see it! Happy scrapping!

Saying Goodbye to the May Kit with Nathalie Leonelli

Hello Elle’s Studio fans, it’s Nathalie back with you today to show you how I have used some of my May 2021 kit and add-on leftovers to create a new spread in my notebook.

Supplies | May 2021 Kit, May 2021 Labels, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Black, Black Typewriter Cardstock Alphabet Stickers, Puffy Banners and Border StickersTiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm Tones

Since my goal was to show you how to “kill your kit” I decided to rely almost exclusively on my leftover tags from the May 2021 Kit for this project. They didn’t really work as-is for my design, so instead I cut them up. Can you guess how many tags I used?

I cut six tags! These are the different ways I used them:

  • Color block accents next to my photos
  • As layers under my photos
  • Photo corners
  • A mat for a photo
  • Photo captions
  • Date strip
  • Title embellishment

To bring in texture and more details, I added a few matching puffy stickers from the Puffy Banners and Border Stickers and the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Sticker packs along with a couple of die-cuts from the kit.

I love cutting my tags to use them outside of pockets and as you can imagine, the possibilities are endless when you think of them as paper scraps.

I will conclude with one last tip: for the sake of uniformity, select two or three colors for your project and cut only those portions from all your leftover tags!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope to have inspired you to try finishing up that May 2021 kit and add-ons before the June box shows up on your doorstep!

We can’t wait to see your projects using the May kit and extras! Share with us in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashatag!

The Best with Jen McMurtrey

Hello friends! It’s Jen today with a project focusing on something I think we all adore… scrapbooking! Last weekend I had the opportunity to share my love of crafting with a local Girl Scout troop, and we had a lovely time creating a layout together. Originally, it was just going to be the girls who participated, but the mothers joined in as well. It was such a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

This project utilizes several of the May 2021 Cut Files along with the From Sketch to Finish Vol. 6 Stamp, which are both amazing.

Supplies | May 2021 Kit, May 2021 Cut Files, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm Tones, Wood Veneer Borders, Good Times Paper Stack, Fun with Borders Stamp, From Sketch to Finish Vol. 6 Stamp

To create the background, I used the plus sign cluster from the From Sketch to Finish Vol. 6 Stamp in several colors. I created several clusters in red, pink, and purple; and followed that with green and blue circles.

Next, I isolated three of the May 2021 Cut Files, adjusted the sizes, and cut them with my Silhouette using the Good Times Paper Stack.

It was easy to create each of them simultaneously by cutting the patterned papers down to size and placing them on the mat accordingly before sending them through the Silhouette.

With each of the cut files ready to use, I began placing everything on the layout starting with the scalloped circle, photo, and journaling tag. I love having the option to change the digital files to suit my needs and created the wavy circle by using the offset function. It is fun to see what I can do and challenge myself to learn new things.

Rather than use the digital files to create more circles, I used a one-inch punch to make the smaller shapes and layered them with die cuts from the May Kit.

To complete the project, I used the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers and Wood Veneer Borders to add more color and dimension.

Using the digital files is a great way to stretch your product and create unique elements on projects. I love having the ability to use them over and over again.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Alphabet Love with Sarah Kee

Hi, Elle’s friends! It’s me, Sarah, on the blog, and I can’t believe we are already in June. Where did half the year go?!

Today, I’m happy to share my latest layout with you. It’s focused on combining the two yellow alphabet stickers from the May release. Have you seen them yet?! I love that they are so bright and cheery.

Here’s what I came up with:

Supplies | May 2021 Kit, Yellow Cardstock Label Stickers, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Yellow, Treasure This Vellum Stickers, Yellow Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers, Acetate Heart Stickers, Puffy Banners and Border StickersTiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm Tones, Happy Place Wood Veneer, Good Times Paper StackFun with Borders Stamp

I tend to use letter stickers as titles for my projects, but I wanted to try something different this time around. I wanted to incorporate both the Jane Tile and Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers as a part of my journaling for this layout. I thought it would be a fun look, and I’m glad I did because I love the way it turned out!

First up, I created some “journaling lines” by using the Fun with Borders Stamp. Each border stamp acted as a single line for my journaling. Then, I added a combination of both the Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Yellow Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers, and my own handwriting to get that journaling down onto my page.

For my layout title, I didn’t want to use any of the alphabet stickers and confuse it with my journaling. Instead, I used the Happy Place Wood Venee that was released last month. It made for such an easy way to add a title to my layout.

Lastly, have you all seen the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers?! These have easily become one of my favorite ways to embellish my layouts. I love that they’re basic and easy enough to add to any project. They have adhesive backs, so no need to use any type of glue or tape runner with them. They come in a variety of colors, but the last release was fun warm tones that go perfectly with the yellow alphabet stickers.

And that’s a wrap! That’s all I have for today. What’d you think? We’d love to see you using those awesome yellow Jane tiles and Parker acetate stickers on your projects. Join us, and please do share your projects with all of us at our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio.

And as always, thanks for reading and letting me share my work with all of you. It’s always a blast to create with Elle’s Studio products!
