Celebrate December with Laurel Seabrook

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  Be sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog everyday for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Today we have Laurel Seabrook joining us for our Celebrate December event!  She has provided SO much inspiration by creating a layout, card, AND an advent calendar!  We are blown away with her projects and know you will be inspired!  Thanks Laurel!

The kids and I love decorating for Christmas.  December First is when we always dig out the Christmas bins and begin the transformation to Christmas.  My favorite decorations are the ones that have a special meaning — whether they used to belong to our grandparents who have passed away or ones that my kids have made– they are not the ones just bought from a store.

Laurel upcycled a couple of garage sale wooden plaques in order to create these Activity Advent Calendar.  She mixed many items from our Be Merry Collection along with clips and small envelopes to create this beautiful Christmas Countdown.

Check out how Becky turned this into an amazing layout!

Kay’s inspiration frame was so awesome but I adapted it to be a 12×12 layout. I was inspired by the layering of tags and bits and pieces and by the stars! This is such a fun layout!- Becky

Celebrate December with Sheri Twing

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  Be sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog everyday for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Today we have Sheri Twing joining us for our Celebrate December event.  Sheri created a BEAUTIFUL tag mini book that highlights her home at Christmas.  What a wonderful idea to create a mini album that allows you to look back at the beautiful decorations and ornaments year round.  Sheri was a member of our Design Team in 2010 and we are thrilled to have her joining us today.  Thanks Sheri!

Hi everyone!  I’m so excited to be back again sharing with you!  Elle’s Studio always has so much fun for us at the holidays and I’m happy to be a part of it this year!

For some time now, I have wanted to create a mini album with photos of some of the Christmas decorations in our home.  From our love of our trees to the sentimental ornaments we’ve collected through the years, I knew I wanted to capture some of those in a mini album.  So when I was given the opportunity to participate in this fun event, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to make that mini happen!  There’s no better product perfect for my mini than Elle’s Studio tags!

I created the tags and cut them on my Silhouette, creating the cutout “Merry” on the first tag.  I then simply backed it with another tag and used the gold and white washi tape for the background.

You will find Elle’s tags throughout the entire mini.  They make it so easy!

It’s one chunky little album but I love it!  I have it already on display in our home so we can enjoy it through the Christmas season.

If you would like to make one of your own, I have included the tag file I created on my blog. You can download it for free to use on your Silhouette.

Thanks again for letting me share my project with you!  Have a wonderful Christmas season!

Sheri

Project Life

This month’s Project Life covers the week of December 3- December 9.

This week is full Christmas mode!  I was inspired by Melissa Man’s awesome mini book to create my date pocket with our Be Merry Number Cut-out’s and layer it with vellum.

I tried to focus on muted Christmas Colors– adding lots of gold and vellum.  I love the overall feel.

There are so many stories to tell during the month of December. In my December Daily, I focus on highlighting a single event –usually it is Christmas related.  In Project Life I incorporate both Christmas activities AND the every day moments.   If I do touch something in Project Life that was mentioned in my December Daily, I typically tell a different aspect of the story, or offer more detail.

This week I included more big photos.  I noticed an over-all theme of birds-eye perspective and lights in my photos.  I included our Christmas Card.  I journaled directly on photos (a great time saver).   A little less embellishments this week and more focus on story and photos.

Are you new to Project Life or considering jumping in at the start of 2013?  I hope you will!  We have a lot of exciting things planned for Project Life in 2013 at Elle’s Studio.  This system of documentation has been such a gift.  It is so neat to be able to flip through the album and see each week of the year, and the year as a whole.

Life is such a precious gift.  It’s a joy to document and share it with others.

Celebrate December with Melissa Mann

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  Be sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog everyday for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Today we have Melissa Mann here to share an incredible holiday mini book.  Melissa was on our design team in 2011 and we are thrilled she is sharing her awesome talents with us for Celebrate December.  I know you will be inspired!

Hey everyone!  I am super excited and honored to be included in the holiday fun here at Elle’s Studio!  I made a mini book to share with you all and hope you gain some ideas and inspiration from it.  It chose some favorite pictures from last December and used them in my mini.
To create the mini book, I cut down chipboard to 4×6 inches.  I took the Be Merry Number Cutouts and cut them down to 4×6 inches.  I stitched them onto the front and back covers of my mini.  I also layered a piece of vellum on top of the tags to tone it down just a tad.

On the front cover only, I left some space to drop in some glitter and wood veneer snowflakes in between the paper and vellum.  I then carefully stitched up the spot that was left open.
I then used the same pattern for each page.  The photo was placed on the left hand side and the 4×6 Elle’s Studio Be Merry Large Journaling Tags on the right hand side.
After completing all my pages, I used book rings to hold the book together.  Then, the fun part started!  I used lots of the new Elle’s studio holiday tags and some older and newer Christmas products to embellish my pages.  I used tags to hold journaling and included page tabs on most of my chipboard pages.  I love the look of having things peek out from the sides of the album!
Thanks so much for joining me on the Elle’s Studio blog today!

Today we have Kelly Purkey joining us with a lovely holiday layout.  Kelly was our 2012 January Guest Designer and we are so thrilled to have her joining us this month for Celebrate December.  We are always inspired by her layouts and designs.  Thanks for joining us today Kelly!

The month of December is always a blur to me, so I am grateful when I’m able to have the time to go back and document the fun.   This is one of my favorite photos from last year and I loved combining it with my favorite products from Elle’s Be Merry collection!  I was so excited to get the Christmas Exclusive stamps and add them to the page- how perfect is that “Favorite Photo”stamp!

I layered together some of the journaling cards so that the cute borders were peeking out behind the photo and added a couple stamps back there as well.  I love these happy products that just help make my holiday memories even happier!

Celebrate December with Lexi Bridges

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  Be sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog everyday for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Today we are thrilled to have Lexi Bridges with us today.  Lexi was our May Guest Designer and we are thrilled to have her back for Celebrate December.  She has created some beautiful gift tags using our Be Merry Collection.  Thank you for joining us Lexi!

Hi everyone, Lexi here!!  When I was asked to play along with the Celebrate December and create tags, I was pumped.  Not only  do I need some fun tags for Christmas gifts, but I haven’t created tags in awhile and forgot how fun it can be to work on a smaller scale!

It’s always fun to mix different sizes, but by keeping them more unified streamlines the process a bit.   The base of each tag is a shipping tag found at most office supply stores.  I covered each tag with patterned paper and sewed around the edge.  Not sewing would speed up the process, but I think the stitching helps finish off the tags.

Each tag is different. but all use piece from the Be Merry collection. as well as those awesome exclusive stamps.

Tags are always a great project to use little scraps of product on… a bit of vellum, snippet of ribbon, a sequin or two… I even found myself busting out the glittery embossing power.  If there is ever a time for a little sparkle, December is it!

Thanks Elle’s Studio for inviting me to play this month!  I hope this inspires you to want to create som tags to top off your gift giving.  Those scrapbook friends in your life are sure to appreciate the effort 🙂
