Spring Sincere Sentiments with Wei Wei Wang

Hello, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Wei Wei here with you today with a new set of greeting cards and tag. I created these cards and tag using the February 2022 kit and add-ons along with the Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You collection.

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, Ledger Die Cut Tags, Grid Circle Cardstock StickersLife Captured Stickers, Little Love Label Stickers, Puffy Heart and Star Stickers, Tiny Shapes & Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm Tones, Love You Paper Stack, Warm Solids Paper StackLove Notes StampLarge Heart Jane Alphabet Stamp, Parker Outlined Alphabet Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Chipboard Banners, Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Acetate Stickers, Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Metal Die, Layered Card Metal Die, Love Notes Metal Die

The Layered Card Metal Die is a MUST- HAVE product for card making. For my first card, I cut out the “XO” patterned paper and purple patterned paper from the Love You Paper Stack with the Layered Card Metal Die. The Love Notes Metal Die provided the perfect heart to add to my card. I also added some little Puffy Heart and Star Stickers and warm-toned Tiny Shapes & Dots Puffy Stickers before topping with the “You”.

I placed the “you” from the Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Acetate Stickers on the center of the heart, along with the white Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Chipboard Banner. To stretch the use of the Grid Circle Cardstock Stickers, I used the Love Notes Metal Die to cut out cute hearts and circles—the perfect embellishments for my card!

On my second card, I created the stamped background with Large Heart Jane Alphabet Stamp, Parker Outlined Alphabet Stamp, and Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Stamp on the yellow paper from the Warm Solids Paper Stack. I cut a heart using the Love Notes Metal Die from the colorful February 2022 Kit journaling tag as well as vellum.

I used the Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Metal Die to create the word “YOU” and placed it over my heart with foam dots. There are so many sweet phrases included in the wonderful Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Acetate Stickers and Chipboard Banners, perfect for creating different kinds of cards! To complete my title, I also added the “beautiful” acetate sticker and the black “that’s you” banner.
For a finishing touch, I stamped out the adorable “LOVE YOU” heart from the Love Notes Stamp, and cut it out with the coordinating Metal Die and placed it on the top right of my card.

The last creation is a tag. I embellished a Ledger Die Cut Tag with the adorable fussy-cut speech bubble from a February 2022 Kit journaling tag. I used my leftover Life Captured Stickers and Little Love Label Stickers, matching the stickers to the coordinating bubbles. To finish, I added the phrase die cut from the February Kit and “you” from Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You Acetate Sticker. I absolutely love how it turned out!

It’s super fast and easy to create these cards and the tag using the February 2022 kit and add-ons along with the Sincere Sentiments Wonderful You collection. If you have a chance, try it out!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my cards! I hope you’ll be inspired to create handmade cards and tags, too!

Sketch Day with Sarah Kee

Hello, everyone! It’s me Sarah up on the blog, and today I wanted to share the latest Elle’s Studio sketch with all of you. I was inspired to create a 12 x 12 layout using pieces from the February 2022 kit and add-ons!

First up, here’s the sketch that I used:

Here’s how I was inspired by the sketch:

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, Love Notes Die Cuts, Love You Paper Stack, Love Notes StampLarge Heart Jane Alphabet Stamp, Lizzy Alphabet Stamp, Love Notes Metal DieLarge Jane Alphabet Metal Die

I followed the sketch almost exactly by layering and placing heart and square shapes in their designated spots. I especially love that this sketch incorporates multiple photos! It’s always a win when you get more of your photos documented. To get a handful of photos onto this 12 x 12 inch layout, I arranged and layered six 3 x 3 inch photos.

For the heart elements, I used pieces from the Love Notes Die Cuts and I also made some of my own hearts using the Love Notes Stamp. Once I stamped the hearts out, I used the Love Notes Metal Die.

I stamped images from the Love Notes Stamp directly onto my white cardstock background using various ink colors. I also stamped more of the Love Notes Stamp onto a separate sheet of white cardstock; then, I cut them out using the Love Notes Metal Die. I added these DIY embellishments to my page with foam adhesive to give my layout dimension.

On each journal heart (the hearts that I created using the Love Notes Stamp and the Love Notes Metal Die), I added some of the February 2022 Kit die cuts. I also added my journaling parts to these hearts.

For my title, I used a couple of different stamp sets.

For the “TWIN” word, I used the Large Heart Jane Alphabet Stamp and cut it out with the Large Jane Alphabet Metal Die. I love the convenience of having the metal dies. It makes title work so easy and customizable!

For the “#” and “life”, I used the super, cute Lizzy Alphabet Stamp

Lastly, for any extra white space that I felt needed some pizazz, I stamped little hearts to fill the space. There are a handful of hearts that can be used on the Love Notes Stamp

That’s it for today! What’d you think? I had a blast using this sketch coupled with the February 2022 kit and add-ons, and I think you will too! We’d love to see your projects using it, so have at it! Join us, and share your projects with us over on our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio.

As always, thanks for reading and letting me share my work here. It’s always a pleasure to be making pretty things with Elle’s Studio products!

Easy Digital Techniques with Kim Chaffin

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Kim, and I’m happy to be back on the blog today sharing one of my favorite things! Though I do like to use cut files to create die cuts, I really love to use Elle’s Studio monthly cut files in creative ways as digital files. I’d love to show you a couple of variations I’ve used with the February 2022 Cut Files on a scrapbook layout that documents three things I love about my husband.

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, February 2022 Cut Files, February 2022 Printables, Love Chipboard Stickers

This layout involves a minimal understanding of Photoshop, but the techniques I’ve used, such as layer masks and clipping masks are not difficult, and a quick google search should point you to many tutorials to explain the way to use these tools if you haven’t done this before. I’m also happy to answer questions in the comments section. I’m confident that these effects could be achieved using other photo editing software as well, but I have the most familiarity with Photoshop.

I created my title using the “I Love You” cut file. I simply opened the PNG file in Photoshop and layered it over my photo. I chose the background above and beside our heads. In Photoshop, I converted the file to white. There are several ways you could do this. The paint bucket tool is probably the easiest. I put the opacity at 50%, which gives it the look of digital vellum, allowing the background to show through a bit.

If you look close, you’ll see that I made it appear that the cut file goes behind our heads. The way I achieved this look was to add a layer mask to the cut file. Then using a brush set to black, I zoomed in and carefully painted the file off anywhere that it overlapped our heads.

I wanted to use the numbered heart files to share three things I love about my husband. I placed each heart toward the lower portion of the photo, being careful to leave space near each heart for my journaling. I wanted the hearts to look like patterned paper. To achieve this I opened three of the February 2022 Printable pocket tags that had patterns I liked.

I layered a pocket tag directly over each numbered heart cut file. With the digital pocket tag selected, I went to the layers tab in Photoshop and scrolled down to click “create clipping mask”. At this point, you should see the shape of the cut file underneath with the pattern of the printable on top. You can move the pocket tag around until you get the portion of print where you like it best. Next, I flattened my layout and printed it at the desired size. For me, that was 9 x 12. I printed my journaling in three sections onto a pocket tag from the February Kit. Then I cut the tag into three strips, and I adhered them near the numbered files. A date stamp and a Love Chipboard Sticker heart finished the layout.

Memory Planner Month-in-Review with Melissa Mann

Hello, friends! This is Melissa here with you this morning. Thank you for joining us on the Elle’s Studio blog today! I have a brand new spread to share in my memory planner—a new approach that I am beginning this year with a month-in-review spread.

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers, Grid Circle Cardstock Stickers, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Fuchsia, Life Captured Stickers, Icon Tab StampCurrently Stamp, You Got This Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp, Documented Stamp, Monthly and Daily Tabs Stamp

I started this by printing all my photos at 1 x 1 inch and used my 1 1/4″ square punch to cut them out. They fit just perfectly in the daily boxes on the January calendar. I stamped the days on the blocks I did not fill in with a photo using the Monthly and Daily Tabs Stamp. I tried to place my photos pretty close to or exactly on the day that photo was taken.

Using my photos as a guide, I stamped out a vertical line of icons using the new Icon Tab Stamp. For each icon stamped, I shared a little snippet of journaling next to it. This is a really fun way to share a few little specific items about the month at a quick glance!

Once I had my journaling written, I completed the spread by using various stickers and die cuts from the February 2022 add-ons. The Grid Circle Cardstock Stickers and the Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers worked perfectly to create little spots for extra journaling or stamping.

Thanks for stopping by today! We would always love to see how you are using your Elle’s Studio products. Feel free to share with us in our Facebook Group or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag!

A Week in Pockets with Guest Designer Jennie Garcia

Today we welcome back February guest designer Jennie Garcia to finish off a wonderful month with another pocket page layout share! Jennie’s bright and happy style definitely shines through on this project, and we think you’ll love how she achieved a layered look in her pockets using our latest products! Let’s take a look!

Hi, everyone! I’m Jennie Garcia, the guest designer for this month. Today I’m here to share another colorful double pocket page layout that I created using the February 2022 kit and add-ons!

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, Ledger Die Cut TagsFuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers, Grid Circle Cardstock StickersJane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Fuchsia, Life Captured StickersLittle Love Label Stickers, White Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, White Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Love You Paper Stack, Icon Tab StampLove Notes StampLove Notes Metal Die

For my title card, I started with the “XO” pattern in the Love You Paper Stack, then layered up Ledger Die Cut Tags for each week, labeling them with the Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers and Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers. I added a few phrase stickers from the Life Captured Stickers, too.

The bottom two cards are examples of how I used the Grid Circle Cardstock Stickers and Cardstock Label Stickers to layer instead of journaling. I used the extra strip leftover from the “XO” pattern in the Love You Paper Stack to add more layers.

I wanted to bring a little of the red from the left side to the right, so I used the red pattern from the Love You Paper Stack to mat a square photo. I also used the yellow tag from the February 2022 Kit to add yellow to the right side.

I used the Icon Tab Stamp to stamp light blue snowflakes on the photo. I love the little Elle’s Studio signature hearts cut from the Love Notes Metal Die and used them as little sprinkles all over my layout!

I hope you enjoyed these colorful pages, and are inspired to use your February 2022 kit and add-ons to create this week. Take care!

My name is Jennie Garcia. I’m from Puerto Rico, but I live in Maryland. I have been married for almost 14 years and I have 2 daughters. I used to be an art teacher. I started scrapbooking when my oldest daughter was born, and I started making pocket pages when my little one was born. I love documenting everyday life with colorful and busy spreads. I’m so happy to be guest designing this month!

Favorite Things Memory Planner with Michelle Flynn

Hi friends! It’s Michelle, and I’m so excited to be with you today to share how I’ve used the February 2022 kit and add-ons to start the new year in my memory-keeping planner! I am still new to this style, but I am just having so much fun using my monthly kit and my stamps to record the little moments of each day!

Supplies | February 2022 Kit, February Labels, Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers, Grid Circle Cardstock StickersJane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Fuchsia, Little Love Label Stickers, Gray Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Summer Label Stickers, Gold Heart Paper Clips, Icon Tab Stamp, Love Notes Stamp, Heart Label StampCurrently Stamp, Winter Tabs Stamp, Monthly Numbers Stamp, Make a Wish Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp, Title Builder Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 3 Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 5 Stamp, Love Notes Metal Die

I started with the beautiful Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers to spell out the month.  Isn’t that fuchsia color just perfection?! I used the sweet Gold Heart Paper Clips to hold my pages together from the intro page. I was really loving the “a few of my favorite things” pocket tag from the February Kit, so I trimmed it down and adhered it to the pink February Label. That was my initial inspiration, and it gave me a starting point to begin documenting some of my favorite things this month using the fabulous new Icon Tab Stamp! This stamp is absolutely a new favorite, and I can already tell how much I’m going to be using it in all my memory-keeping projects, including this memory planner!

I really love Elle’s Studio stamps for so many reasons—did I mention the hearts? Besides those signature and adorable hearts, the other reason is they allow me to create and build my own titles and I get full use from all of my favorite stamps. I wanted a title across both pages so I combined a few stamp sets to do this in a fun way. I started with the amazing new Icon Tab Stamp, Love Notes Stamp and the Currently Stamp. I continued carrying my title across both pages using a few other favorites from the Title Builder Stamp collection: the original Title Builder Stamp and the Title Builder Volume 5 Stamp.

The Monthly Numbers Stamp is so perfect for all types of memory keeping, and a necessary staple for memory planners! I reach for it again and again and I used it here to number each day accordingly. I then moved on to selecting some of the simple photos I wanted to highlight, as my intention for these two pages was to focus more on my daily notes than photos. Once I selected the photos, I grabbed my Heart Label Stamp and the Love Notes Metal Die to make a few mini frames for some of the tiny photos using gray ink. I then used those fun February Labels again and trimmed them to peek out of a few of the photos, which I just love.  Note: It would have been super cute if I’d used those as mini pull-out elements from behind the photos, but I didn’t think about it until after! There’s always another layout, right!?

I continued adding a few additional touches using die cuts from the February Kit along with the Grid Circle Cardstock Stickers and even used the last of my Summer Label Stickers, too! I love combining and using my new products along with those in my stash! I continued with journaling notes and more stamping using the Icon Tab Stamp, the Winter Tabs Stamp, the Make a Wish Stamp, and the Daily Tabs Stamp. I wrapped up this month of highlights with more journaling to the right, along with a fun little personal goal grid at the bottom!

I’m still just a few months into this style of memory keeping and I’m loving this time to explore and play with my kit and stamps in this way and to document all the small bits of life! I hope you’ll pull out your kit and your stamps and see how much fun it is to use them in your memory planner! Thanks for being here today and sharing your time with me! Share your inspiration from this release using the #ellesstudio hashtag on Instagram and join us over on the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group! Happy creating, friends!

Five on Friday with Marsha Farris

Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! This is Marsha, and I’m here today with this month’s Five on Friday. I was challenged to create a project featuring five products from this month’s release. I am excited to share the bright and fun pocket page spread I was able to make with a limited number of supplies!
Here are the five products I used for my project:

  1. February 2022 Kit
  2. February 2022 Cut Files
  3. Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers
  4. Love You Paper Stack
  5. Icon Tab Stamp

And here’s what I created:

To begin my layout, I printed several photos from my family’s Mardi Gras party last year. There were so many photos, so I chose to create a double-page spread. I trimmed the speech bubble patterned paper from the Love You Paper Stack to fill the first pocket and used the “celebrate” speech bubble from the February 2022 Cut Files to serve as the title, adding foam adhesive to the cut file for added dimension. Next, I chose pocket tags from the February 2022 Kit to fill the pockets.

I used die cuts from the February Kit to embellish the photos and the journaling pocket tag. Then, I created a fun column of stamped icons with the Icon Tab Stamp and black ink. I love how the stamping draws attention to my favorite photo from the evening: a family group picture.

The other page of the spread features more pocket tags from the February Kit and a flip-up for an additional photo. I used the Fuchsia Cardstock Label Stickers to add “Mardi Gras” to a yellow pocket tag. I am a big fan of these label stickers and love that they are now available in this gorgeous color!

I added die cut tags from the February Kit and stamping with the Icon Tab Stamp to embellish the pockets. The 1, 2, 3 pocket tag was my favorite, and I used it to choose the color palette for the spread. As an added bonus, the colors coordinated perfectly with my photos!

I hope you are inspired to play along with Five on Friday using the amazing February 2022 kit and add-ons! Be sure to share your layout with us using the #EllesStudio hashtag on Instagram or in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group! Happy creating!
