Thankful for you!

We are SO thankful for you and your support over the years! Your comments and emails always make us smile ๐Ÿ™‚ We love you so much!

Keeping up with our “thankful” tags tradition, we have made new thankful tags for you this year! Just click here to download the pdf file that includes the tags above! There’s six tags on one sheet, two of each of the three colors!

You can use them on your scrapbook layouts, or as seating cards for around the table: write the person’s name in the center and the card reads “Thankful for Jan”. Or print out a bunch and make a mini book out of them! You could ask everyone that comes over for Thanksgiving dinner to write on one what they are thankful for… There’s lots of different ways to use them! Later we’ll show you how to make a fun turkey place card with them!

Thankful Thursday

Hello Thursday!! If you’re a new reader here, this is part of our Thankful Thursday series (every Thursday we write what we are thankful for, during the months of Oct – Nov) and we’d love for you to join in! You can use the image above on your blog and post either your blog link to your thankful post, or what you’re thankful for this week, in the comment section below!

I am thankful for:

THE MOUNTAINS: I love where we live. We can see the mountains off in the distance and it’s so fun watching the snow gather on them and slowly creep downward. The anticipation of snow falling down where we live gets bigger and bigger as winter approaches. Some years we get snow and some years we don’t, so I’m thankful I can at least see it on our mountains. It’s so beautiful!

MY NEPHEWS GIGGLES: My sisters little guy is already three months old and he’s really starting to giggle now. It’s so cute and can bring a smile to your face no matter what! He’s such a joy to be around and I’m also thankful that they live so close! Some weeks I get to see him almost every day ๐Ÿ™‚

Designer Spotlight: Ann-Marie Morris

I’m a 24 year old girl with a serious passion for anything design related: scrapbooking, interior design, photography, graphic design, knitting…you name it, I love it! I graduated in 2009 from San Diego State University with my BFA in Multimedia Design. This past summer, my boyfriend John and I moved from Southern California (where we were born and raised) to Orem, Utah for me to take on my dream job as an In-House Scrapbooker/Product Designer for American Crafts. Needless to say, this past year has brought about a lot of changes – most of which have been FANTASTIC! In my free time, I love to shop (especially thrifting for home decor!), work out, discover new places in Utah, and of course, read blogs!

You can visit Ann-Marie’s blog and gallery at Two Peas!

(Click on the photos to make them larger!)What is your current favorite color combo?

Purple, gray, turquoise, and yellow. Turquoise has always been a staple, but purple is a new love!

What is your favorite scrapbooking supply?
I love embellishments of all kinds but right now I’m really loving stamps and punches – they can be used over and over in so many different ways.
Why do you scrapbook and how did you get started?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved arts and crafts in every form. But it wasn’t until college that I discovered scrapbooking, when I decided to make my parents a scrapbook of family memories for Christmas. I remember turning to the internet to get my creative juices flowing, and as soon as I stumbled across scrapbooking/design blogs, it was like a whole new world appeared before my eyes! Suddenly, I was no longer just interested in completing the scrapbook for Christmas, I wanted to scrapbook everything! It’s definitely a mix of blog inspiration, my need to create, and the desire to document my stories that keeps me coming back to this hobby over and over again.
Who inspires you?
The blog world, magazines, podcasts, and being surrounded by creative people. There’s so much to get excited about in this world! In terms of scrapbookers, I’ve always admired the styles of Liz Kartchner, Kelly Purkey, and Maggie Holmes, to name a few.

What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?
I love how it makes me think about upcoming events/travels/activities/ etc. with one thought in mind: how will I turn this into a layout? To some people, that may seem a bit backwards, but for me, it enhances every experience and gets me excited to truly live and enjoy my life! I’ve found that I am much happier since discovering scrapbooking (as cheesy as that sounds!), because I am able to relive fond memories over and over again.

Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Ann-Marie! It was great getting to know more about you! You’re project was great and your scrap space is so dreamy! We are so blessed to have you as a member of our design team!

Designer Spotlight: Anne Jo Lexander

I live at a small island outside the west coast of Norway with my husband and our two kids aged five and nine.

Right now I am a student, working on my Masters degree in Media while freelancing for my local newspaper as a photojournalist and doing occasional photosessions/weddings in between. Yep, I’m another one of those scrapbookers with fancy camera and hopes of becoming a (press)photographer. Working a year as the photographer for the local newspaper confirmed that it’s indeed what I want to work with when I finish my MA, at least ๐Ÿ™‚

Visit Anne Jo’s blog, here!
What is your current favorite color combo?
White, black, turquoise! And if it shimmers I’m happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

What is your favorite scrapbooking supply?
Right now I am weak for mist or paint splatters of any kind, and to use my babystapler on everything ๐Ÿ™‚

Why do you scrapbook and how did you get started?
Like most scrapbookers it started w/a need to do something “more” with the pictures I had to take of my kids – but soon turned into a “mommy-needs-her-creative-outlet-time” which just had the added bonus of documenting the kids every now and then. I.e., something I started to do for the children turned into something I need to do for myself. Googling “scrapbooking” because I had a vague idea it might be just what I was looking for for the pictures from my daughters christening apparently sealed my fate. Darn you google! :p
Who inspires you?
Oh, there are so many..but why don’t I share some fellow Norwegian scrapbookers with you here; Bibbi, Ingvild, Gudrun, Carrin, HegeAL, Lula are a few of my favorites…and my RL friends whom mostly used to scrapbook but knit or crochet these days – they still inspire me when we once in a while actually get to scrap together…! ๐Ÿ™‚

What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?
Seeing my kids look at what I make/have made and “ooing” and “aahing” because mommy made something involving themselves. I dunno, maybe it gives them extra confidence when they see mom spend lots of time making stuff with their pictures..? (at least for now, until they grow into the awkward “stop-it-leave-me-alone-mommy”-phase :p)

Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Anne Jo! It was fun getting to learn more about you and it’s been great having you apart of our team! We are honored to have you with us!

Designer Spotlight: Melanie Blackburn

I started scrapbooking in 2004 after the birth of our first daughter. I wanted to create a scrapbook album of all her relatives; I never expected this hobby to turn into a passion. Six years later and this special album for my daughter is still not complete!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Visit Melanie’s blog, here!
What is your current favorite color combo?
I have a weakness for yellows, pinks and teals. Having 2 girls these are the perfect color combo to scrap precious pictures of my sweet girls.

What is your favorite scrapbooking supply?
Aside from my Elleโ€™s Studio products ;), I love using border punches on my layouts. The possibilities are endless, there are so many different kinds of punches, my small collection is slowly expanding but I do find myself reaching for my favorite punch most of the time which is the Stampin Up Border Punch.
Why do you scrapbook and how did you get started?
I scrapbook to preserve memories for my daughters. I want them to know how much they have touched my life and capturing those random moments are the perfect way to document their childhood.

Who inspires you?
So many talented scrappers inspire me but most of all Iโ€™m influenced by my surroundings, a cute top that I purchased for my daughter, a fun add in a magazine but most all, my main source of inspiration are my daughters.
What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?
Iโ€™ve never thought of myself as being crafty but every since I started scrapbooking Iโ€™ve discovered a new creative talent which I never thought I had. Scrapbooking has also made me a better photographer. Paying attention to the small details and focusing on precious moments are all part of the reason why I love to scrapbook!

Working for Elleโ€™s Studio has been such a wonderful opportunity! Elleโ€™s products are fabulous and so easy to use. I am thankful that our paths have crossed. Thank you Elle for being so wonderful!!!
Thank you so much for sharing with us today and your sweet words, Melanie! It was great getting to know more about you! We love that layout and your scrap space looks perfect ! We are so blessed to have you as a member of our design team!
