Sincere Sentiments Week: Bursting with Fun with Jennifer McMurtrey!

Happy Friday! It’s Day 5 of our Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! Week here on the blog, and we are just so excited about the response to this new collection! We know you’ve gotten to see some wonderful cards created by our team and special guests this week, but we have two more to leave you with, created by Jennifer McMurtrey! If you’re in need of inspiration when your new Sincere Sentiments collection arrives, be sure to turn back to this week’s posts, and don’t forget to pin your favorite designs! Let’s take a look at the final post of the week!

Hello friends! By this time, I hope that all of you have had the opportunity to see the new Elle’s Studio Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! collection of stamps and metal dies. This new set coordinates perfectly with supplies you already have on hand and can be used on cards or layouts alike!

Today, I am sharing two new cards created with this fun, new collection. Let’s take a look.

Supplies | Sincere Sentiments Congrats Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Congrats Metal Die, Love You Paper Stack, Warm Solids Paper Stack

The first card, “Congrats on Your Success,” pairs both of the new stamps and metal die. To create this look, I stamped the bursts in five different colors on the top and bottom edges of white cardstock. To make the process easier, I used a stamping platform to ensure I had consistent images on the card base. After stamping the bursts, I used the same inks and stamped tiny hearts throughout.

To create the title, I used the “congrats” metal die with a beautiful pink paper from the Warm Solids Paper Stack. Next, I used the same die and cut four more of the sentiments from cardstock, which were then glued together to give the appearance of it being chipboard. For a final touch, I used clear embossing powder to give the word a bit of shine.

Using the same process, I stamped the smaller sentiment and then glued several of the same together. Both of the sentiments were then glued to the stamped cardstock. Once everything was assembled, I added several clear Nuvo drops for texture.

Last, I assembled the card using patterned paper from the Love You Paper Stack as the base, which I adhered to a folded card base.

Next, is the “Huge congrats” card that uses a completely different color scheme—my favorite. I love the rich, earthy tones!

This card was constructed in the same manner as the previous. I stamped the background in a vertical pattern using three different ink colors, which was then adhered to a rust-colored paper from the Warm Solids Paper Stack.

I created the title using stamps and dies from the Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! collection. However, rather than create a chipboard look, I used foam strips to adhere it to the card front

After the card was assembled, I added a few Nuvo drops in a copper color that enhances the card beautifully.

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to grab this amazing collection from the Elle’s Studio shop while it’s still available for preorder. I guarantee you will love it!

Our new Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! Stamp and Metal Die are now available for preorder, shipping 4/22/2022! Be sure to add these to your cart today, along with the Add-On Stamp so that we can add your name to our shipping list!

Sincere Sentiments Week: Bold Sentiments with Emily Mydlowski

Welcome to day four of Sincere Sentiments Week here on the blog, where we are celebrating and sharing inspiration from our new Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! collection! Today, our second guest of the week is here to inspire us: Emily Mydlowski! We cannot wait for you to see what beautiful cards Emily created with our newest products, so check out her post below and don’t forget to “pin” your favorite designs from her gorgeous cards below for easy card creating!

Hi, crafty friends! It’s Emily Mydlowski and I am so excited to be here with you today sharing several cards using the awesome, new Sincere Sentiments Congrats! products. I lean towards clean and simple cards with big, bold sentiments, and I love that the Sincere Sentiments Congrats! stamps have SO many sentiment combinations with a variety of fonts & sizes. The celebratory and encouraging card designs you can create are endless—especially when you add in the cute hearts, stars and burst images. The bonus for me: all of the matching dies! It so nice to not only have a die cut for the main sentiment, but also the coordinating sentiments. This provides so much more flexibility when arranging your sentiments on a card front.

Supplies | Sincere Sentiments Congrats Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Congrats Add-On Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Congrats Metal Die, My Star Metal Die, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Cool Tones, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm Tones

Once I get going on a card design idea, I usually end up creating in multiples, so today I’m sharing two sets of cards, the first a trio of “Congrats!” cards using a rainbow color palette with lots of stars!

On the “Congrats From All of Us” card, I stamped the burst images in rainbow order across the top of the card panel and added matching star puffy star stickers to the center of each burst for extra dimension. Then I stamped the cute outline stars in black ink to offset the boldness of the “Congrats from all of us” sentiment.

For the “Huge Congrats” card, I combined several star die cuts with a rainbow watercolored script sentiment, and of course had to sneak in those cute little stars in black ink for extra contrast.

The 4-Bar “You Did It, Congrats!” card uses the Sincere Sentiments: Congrats Add-On Stamp. Using ink cubes, I applied a rainbow of ink hues to the starburst image and stamped twice to create the full burst. I stamped additional stars to the ends of the starburst beams and stamped the sentiments directly over the center of the starburst. To finish the card with extra dimension, I added a few rainbow-colored puffy heart stickers using both the Cool, and Warm Tones to the center of the starburst.

I love a good and quick card design, and the big “Congratulations!” word from the Sincere Sentiments Congrats Stamp and coordinating sentiments makes it super simple to create fun, encouragement cards. This second set of cards that I created uses the “Congratulations!” sentiment for two different occasions, with a little twist of color and a coordinating sentiment. I created a punny anniversary card (when I saw this sentiment combination I could not stop laughing because it’s SO true) along with a Baby Boy Announcement card. For a little extra whimsy, I added Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers in both Cool and Warm with a fun patterned paper strip from the Love You Paper Stack.

I hope you enjoyed all my cards today using the Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! collection. I had such a great time creating with all the great products in this release and I know I’ll be reaching for this set ALL of the time! Thank you so much to Elle’s Studio for having me. Big paper hugs!

Sincere Sentiments Week: Coordinated Congrats with AURÉLIE CORMIER

Hello, everyone! It’s Aurélie here today to show you what I created using the brand new Sincere Sentiments: Congrats! collection!

Supplies | Sincere Sentiments Congrats Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Congrats Add-on Stamp, Sincere Sentiments Congrats Metal DieMedium Jane Alphabet Metal DieWarm Solids Paper StackCool Solids Paper Stack

As soon as I heard about these new products coming down the pipeline, I knew I wanted to create a cohesive trio of cards with them. It’s such a versatile set! It can be used for all kinds of occasions: birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, new jobs, retirements, growing families, etc.

I absolutely wanted to keep it simple. I started by stamping the sunburst with a very light, neutral color. I then thought that layering the solid heart stamp and its outline would be enough to fancy it up a bit. However, for me, something was still missing. My trusty scrapbooking friend, Cécile Lavoie, said, “Aurélie, I can’t believe you haven’t thought of doing some kind of hand-stitching on your card!” Well, let me tell you that it didn’t take me long to see the stamp images in a whole new light and grab my stitching kit. I chose a metallic thread so that it would give it that extra “oomph” I was looking for. And it totally worked!

While I was making these cards, I actually found out that one of my former vocal students and her husband are expecting their first baby in the fall. Perfect timing! This stamp set is absolutely perfect for that! To ensure I achieved the cohesive look I wanted to create from one card to the next, I chose the same color scheme, repeated the stamped hearts and opted for a smaller sunburst stitched motif, but this time, all over the front panel of the card. I also used the same embossing folder from card to card to further enhance the cohesiveness. As for the sentiment, I mixed and matched both the Congrats Stamp, and the Add-on Stamp to create one that fit the celebratory occasion.

For the last card, I thought I would try to see just how far I could stretch the main stamp set. Do you see what I did there? I individually stamped the H, U and G of the HUGE word stamp as well as the ‘S’ from the CONGRATS word stamp, die-cut them with the Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die and created a whole new sentiment—HUGS! Instead of stamping ‘to you both,’ I partially stamped it so that the final card sentiment would read “HUGS to you.” The cohesive approach in creativity was achieved by using the same embossing folder, color scheme, and stamped hearts as before. I also created another stitched background motif, using a different stamp from this release as my stitching template.

There you have it! Three cards ready to send to friends and family. By keeping it simple and using the same design elements in different ways, I had an absolute blast creating. Remember, stamp sets can be as versatile as you want them to be. Sometimes you just have to look at them from another angle, or in this case, have a friend nearby to remind you to do so. We can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with! Please share your projects with us in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Five On Friday: Weekend Fun with Junell Kruzel

Hello everyone! It’s Junell on the blog today, and I’m so happy to share with you the layout I created for Five on Friday! This is a challenge to use only five products on a layout and I was up for the challenge this month! Let’s get started.

Supplies | March 2022 Kit, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers – Cool, Play All Day Chipboard StickersWhite Acrylic Stars, Good Times Seals Stamp

After seeing the Play All Day Chipboard Stickers, I knew I wanted to use the words “Fun Times” as part of my title, but it needed more impact. So I decided to use the tags from the March Kit to cut out freehand the letters WKND to make the title “WKND Fun Time.” I wanted the title to be quite large, so I used almost the entire tag from top to bottom and side to side. I love using the tags as paper on a large layout. They can be used for more than just pocket pages!

I then arranged my photos, and typed out my journaling in the perfect spot right under the “Fun Times” chipboard title.

The White Acrylic Stars are perfect for this layout, and to make them a bit more interesting, I backed them with tags and cut the excess paper around the star. I stamped in the middle of the large star using the Good Times Seals Stamp. I just love the dimension the stars give to this layout, and I placed them in a triangle to give movement around the page.

Now for the fun embellishments! Give me all the chipboard stickers! I used the stars from the cool Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers to give some life and pizazz to the layout! I also sprinkled stamping around the page and even stamped on top of a chipboard star! They have a perfect matte finish for stamping, so it worked perfectly.

That’s only five products from the Elle’s Studio shop that I used to create a colorful, bold, and eye-catching layout. It was fun to limit myself and see what I could come up with. Now, I challenge you to the same task! See what you can create with just five items from the shop, and then share your project with us in the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group! We would love to see what you create! Happy Five on Friday!

Mixing the Old and the New with Jennifer McMurtrey

Hello friends! It’s Jen today with a fun technique to add a bit of bling to your projects. This year I have made it a goal of mine to use the older products I have in my stash, and today’s layout does just
that.

Supplies | March 2022 KitMarch Cut Files, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers – Cool, Play All Day Chipboard Stickers, Love You Paper Stack, Good Times Seals Stamp, Medium Jane Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Good Times Seals Metal Die, Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die

I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I love using cut files on my projects because of the ability to alter them to meet my needs. For today’s project, I worked with the files in two ways to achieve this fun, foiled effect.

To create the foiled title and embellishments, I first printed the files on my laser printer so I would be able to use reactive foil with them. To do this, I simply resized the shapes to my liking in Silhouette Studio software and printed them with the registration marks showing. Doing so allowed me to then go back and cut them on the Silhouette Cameo.

After the files were printed and cut, I used Minc foil from my stash and applied it with my laminator. This entire process is a bit of a learning curve, but YouTube is a great resource whenever you become
stumped.

As I began putting the layout together, I decided I wanted to add more foil to the project. To do this, I used a wide paint brush with reactive spray and painted stripes on the middle of the white
cardstock. Once this was dry, I fed it through the laminator using the gradient silver and teal foil as before. It isn’t glaringly obvious when you look at the layout, but I really like how it turned out.

Next, I began assembling the layout starting with the two photos of Mildred. Prior to adhering them to the background, I matted each with the same vellum that backs the title. The effect is subtle but also
tones down the glare of the foil.

The Good Times Seals Stamp and coordinating Good Times Seals Metal Die were great for adding more embellishments to my project. I used these with patterned paper from the Love You Paper Stack.

Last, I used the Medium Jane Alphabet Stamp with this month’s new Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die and Play All Day Chipboard Stickers to complete the title. This layout is so fun and fits the
photos of Mildred perfectly!

Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you’ve been inspired to dig into your stash and use some of those older products with the new. Don’t forget to post your projects to social media using the hashtag #EllesStudio or share in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group so we are sure to see what you create!

Play All Day On Your Layouts with Diane Dziuban

Hi, everyone! Today I am sharing a fun 12 x 12 inch layout I created using the new, awesome Play All Day Chipboard Stickers

Supplies | March 2022 Kit, March 2022 LabelsJane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Yellow, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers – CoolPlay All Day Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Warm TonesWhite Acrylic Stars, Cool Solids Paper Stack

I knew the minute I saw the Play All Day Chipboard words that they would look awesome with some kind of motion on the page. I traced large circles and hand stitched them in the colors of the chipboard. I then aligned the titles to move across the page. I love how this instantly made the layout feel more playful!

Once I had the words where I wanted them, it was time to add the photos. I created this to be a title page for the start of a new Disney album, so I knew I wouldn’t need any journaling. I always love how perfect the colors in all of the Elle’s Studio products goes so well with Disney photos! I used several of the 3 x 4 inch journal tags from the March Kit to back my photos. I love doing that to tie all the colors together.

Once I had journaling tags and photos in place, it was time to embellish. I used several of the stars from the cool Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers in cool colors, as well as the White Acrylic Stars. I used the stars to create clusters and bring cohesiveness throughout. Embellishing is my favorite part of creating a layout!

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! If you create a layout with the amazing Play All Day Chipboard Stickers make sure to tag #EllesStudio or share in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group so that we can see! Have a great day!
