Holiday projects are by far my favorite to do and I could not wait to dig into the new ‘Tis the Season collection!  With its bright colors and festive embellishments, creating my first holiday project of the year was a piece of cake!

Supplies used: ‘Tis the Season: 6×6 Paper Pack; Bits and Pieces; and Washi Tape.

When I set down to create this layout documenting my daughter’s preschool art, I reached for both my square punch and the 6×6 paper pack. Having all of the papers right there in a small little stack is really a time saver and makes it super easy for me to flip the papers and choose the ones I want to use.

To keep my layout from looking too flat, I reached into the Bits and Pieces pack and adhered three of them with pop dots. I love the variety that this fun package of diecuts comes with and I included several, stapling a few of them to give that extra bit of detail.

Good Morning, All! Alissa here today with another Christmas project featuring the amazing ‘Tis the Season collection. I’m a Christmas girl and I love documenting my Christmas all December long. My favorite thing to do in December is daily documenting all the fun things we do and the everyday ways I celebrate the season. I also love journaling my Christmas, as well. This is a project I’ve done for several years in December, along with my December Daily and it’s a class put on my Shimelle Laine. There are journal prompts each day that you get to document however you like. Last year I journaled in a traveler’s notebook and loved it so much that I needed to repeat that process this year using Elle’s Studio products!

Take a look at my cover and title page. I’m all set and ready to go!

I started with a blank traveler’s notebook insert. Added some tissue as a background and decorated the cover with lots of pieces from the Bits and Pieces pack. I stamped the date with the cute number stamps in the collection and added a few puffy stickers and an acrylic star to finish it off.

Here’s a closer look. The JYC was created with the JOY on the puffy sticker sheet. I just cut the O to make the C.

Here’s the title page. Pretty simple, actually. A few puffy stickers, letter stickers and washi tape from my own stash. The blue background is Distress Stain, but you could use watercolors, too.

Candy corn: it’s one of the best parts of October. Some may hate it, but as for me, this layout says it all.

The idea for this page came about as I pulled together items from the October Elle’s Studio kit with those from the Autumn Leaves and Happy Halloween releases. I was definitely feeling a yellow-orange, candy corn vibe. The fact that I also had a bag full of those sugary shapes close at hand probably played a small role.

The page design is based on a series of adjacent vertical sections, including a line of accents, one of tags and a photo, another of patterned paper, and finally, one painted section, over which I added the journaling. To create the garland, I stitched together punched circles, wood veneer stars, die-cut shapes, and hand-cut candy corn pieces. I then added a few acrylic shapes for an added punch of color and texture.

I really loved the Happy Halloween mini collection that was available this month and decided to whip up a couple of cards. I am not a card maker; but I was able to create both of these cards within 35 minutes. The “Happy Halloween” card was super simple to make. I took the 4×6 “Happy Halloween” journaling card and backed it against the Kraft card stock and the Elle’s Studio pattern paper and stitched it down my sewing machine. I used some adhesive and glued the small wood veneer pieces on the bottom.

The second card, took a little more time, but not too much! I used the 3×4 cards that came in the Happy Halloween Journaling Tags and cut them down to squares sized at 1 3/4 x 1 3/4. I adhered these down to some Elle’s Studio pattern paper that was adhered to the gray card stock again using my sewing machine. I used a piece of sand paper and lightly distressed the edges of the small squares. Three of the squares were adhered using foam dots. I placed a wood veneer piece on three of the squares. Lastly, I jazzed up the squares using some Stickles in various colors.
