Sketch Class Highlight

Happy Saturday everyone! Maggie here today with my take on a sketch from the brand new Elle’s Studio From Sketch to Finish Vol. 2 class!

SUPPLIES: From Sketch to Finish Vol. 2, ‘Tis the Season 12 x 12 paper: Merry & Bright, ‘Tis the Season 6×6 paper pad, ‘Tis the Season Lil’ Snippets, November Acrylics (available on the 10th), Everyday Labels Puffy Stickers: Teal, and Letters & Numbers: Black.

I’ll tell ya…working from a sketch is really one of my favorite ways to create a layout…especially when I’m low on creative energy – because most of the work is already done for you! All you have to do is pick your photos and paper and follow the sketch!

For this page I challenged myself by limiting my supplies to the ‘Tis the Season Collection (along with a few extras). Even though my photo is not Christmas/Holiday related, I love that I could use some of the more neutral patterns to stretch the collection a bit.

I started by choosing the papers I wanted (that woodgrain paper has been finding its way onto so many of my projects lately!) and then just began layering them on my page – along with my photo.

Next I added a few labels…

And finally a few little enamel dots and some ink blots and I was done!

This layout came together really quickly and easily…the hardest part was deciding which of the patterned papers I wanted to use!
