As tomorrow begins the start of a new year, have you started preparing your new album, or even considered how you’re going to document it yet? Last week, we released a brand new set of journaling tags, wood veneers and stamps to help you prepare your 2019 pocket page album for greatness, and Candace Perkins is with us to share how she’s getting everything ready using these fantastic new products! Let’s take a look:
Hello Elle’s Studio friends! Another year is just around the corner and Elle’s Studio has all the goodies to get you set up to document your family’s special moments and memories, including a brand new release of journaling tags, wood veneer and versatile stamps that were just added to the shop last week! I started out my projects I’m sharing today with my 2019 title page. I love starting each year’s album with a current photo along with the age of everyone in the family at the beginning of the year. I like how this title page sets the scene for the beginning of the album.
To create a little more interest on the page I created two pockets with see through elements. I love the look and the feel of the whole title page and the scene it sets for the new 2019 year.
Last year I created a page at the beginning of the album that would allow me to slide in a “photo of the month” as the year goes on. This is so neat because it gives the reader a sneak peek at the year documented in the album. Since I loved it so much last year, I thought I would do it again this year. I placed these pages right after the title page in my album.
I wanted this page to have lots of color and be fun and bright! I started by using the 3″ x 4″ tags from the 12″ x 12″ cut-apart page in the Noteworthy 12 x 12 Paper Collection. To fill in the rest of the spots I added some white cardstock that I could adhere photos or journaling to throughout the year.
To add a bit more dimension and to contrast all the bright colors I added the Small Months of the Year Wood Veneer. I love how this looks! I can’t wait to see all the memories and photos that will be captured and documented here!
Life can get busy throughout the year, so in December I like to set up as much of my album as I can. By doing this, even if it is a busy week, I can just add in the photos and a few notes, but I always know where I am in my album by using weekly and monthly markers.
Elle’s Studio has so many goodies in the shop to set you up and keep you on track through your busy year! My favorite are The Week of 4×6 Journaling Tags! I LOVE this new addition to the Elle’s Studio shop!
I was able to just quickly run each card through my typewriter and add the dates ahead of time. If you like to use stickers or more color, go for it! These little gems are so versatile and because they are neutral, you can customize them to fit your own theme, style and colors for the week.
I also added the 2019 Calendars to the first page of every month. I am not sure if these will stay in the pocket, but I like to keep them there to help me stay on track and help the reader know at what point in time the memories and pictures had taken place.
How will you use these fun goodies to get you set up for the year ? I can’t wait to see! Start the year off right and set yourself up to easily document those special moments and memories that you will cherish forever!
Have a beautiful new year!
Happy New Year, and we can’t wait to see how you document 2019 using our products!

With Christmas already past, and the new year quickly approaching we’re feeling the push to complete our Document December albums to move on to our 2019 projects. Five members of our design team are inspiring us today with their creative Document December pages that document anything from a Hallmark movie marathon to last-minute shopping, that we know will have you ready wrap up your album! Let’s see what they created:
Hello! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today, and I’ve been having some fun creating with the brand new products that just hit the shop today!
This release of neutral journaling tags in 4″ x 6″ and 3″ x 4″ sizes, months of the year wood veneers and versatile stamps is perfect for setting up your 2019 pocket page album, or if you’re like me, playing catch-up on 2018! I created a monochromatic 12″ x 12″ pocket page for my 2018 weekly-intensive project using these fun, new supplies:
This filler tag that I created is my favorite on the page! I stamped “this makes me smile” from the Here and Now Stamp over and over again in a pattern using green ink, then one last time in black at the top. I added the light green Christmas Hand Drawn Acrylic Heart to the white space at the top.
The Noted Stamp, full of journaling lines and boxes helped me to create the final tag on my page. I started by topping the 3″ x 4″ plain white cardstock with “notes from today” from the Here and Now Stamp, then added six bubble journaling lines from the Noted Stamp below. I scanned this in to add my journaling in Photoshop, then printed it out on the tag. After my journaling was printed, I stamped a black arrow to point toward the correct day at the top, and added a thin strip of washi tape, to balance the washi at the top of the page.
Whether you need to fill in gaps in your 2018 album, or want to start your 2019 album off right, these new journaling tags, stamps and embellishments are the perfect supplies for your pockets!

The day after Christmas, also called Boxing Day, is a great day to use up your holiday feast leftovers, and we thought it would be fun to challenge one of our team members to do the same with their Elle’s Studio kits from 2018! Tracey Fox was up for the challenge, and she used a bit of every single kit from this year! Let’s take a look at her fabulous project:
Happy Boxing Day, everyone! Do you celebrate Boxing Day on December 26th? The day after Christmas Day has a rich and varied history throughout the world, but one of the features of the holiday has included using up Christmas leftovers or giving them to servants along with tips or gifts. My family and I actually have a Boxing Day tradition where we eat Christmas leftovers and play board games all day. And this year, I was inspired and excited to put the concept to use with the Elle’s Studio monthly kits I have been collecting throughout 2018!
I decided that a great way to use up my past kits would be to create a “year-in-review” style layout about 2018, so I printed 12 little photos to highlight each month from this year. I also went through my Elle’s Studio monthly kits and selected an unused 3″ x 4″ tag from each kit to use on the page. I chose tags with a mix of pretty colors, patterns, and sentiments that I felt capture some of my feelings about 2018. I spread the tags out in a vertical band on the left side of my white cardstock background in the same order as the kits from which I selected them. I love how this showcases them in order, and I also like how ending the cascade of tags with the “Hello New Year” tag from the December 2018 Kit adds a touch of excitement about what’s to come.
On the right side of my layout, I laid my 12 photos out in rows and moved on to the FUN part of embellishing on and around them. I arranged leftover die cuts from some of my monthly kits (those kits that actually had some diecuts left!), and I stamped on a couple of them with stamps from the Mini Dated Stamp and the All the Details Stamp (sold out). I filled in the gaps with some more leftover bits from some other products from previous Elle’s Studio releases this year: the Adventure Puffy Stickers, Puffy Star Stickers, Autumn Fun Stickers, and Acrylic Stars Spring Mix. I love the cheery result of these bits and pieces all mixed up together on one page!
Whether you keep your previous kit leftovers organized in order like I did or whether you have them scattered all throughout your stash, I challenge you to try to use some of them up on a single project—Boxing Day style! It’s such a fun way to see how well all of the releases from Elle’s Studio coordinate with each other and can be mixed and matched in millions of ways.
Not to get too sentimental here, but I absolutely love how pairing monthly photos with bits of every 2018 Elle’s Studio kit perfectly sums up the story of my year in memories and in memory-keeping. It’s so fun to see the big picture of the year in both photos and in products from my favorite company. Throughout my many ups and downs from 2018, Elle’s Studio has consistently released beautiful products each month that have helped me tell some of my most important stories, and I can wait to see what’s in store for us in 2019!
We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Elle’s Studio! We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season surrounded by family and friends! Don’t forget to pull out your camera and document those special moments so you can treasure them for years to come! It truly is a magical time of year!
