We have a slew of new products in the shop, and that means we also have a new guest designer to create with our fun, new product! Please join me in welcoming Kim Watson to the Elle’s Studio blog! Kim’s projects are always full of interest provided by bold colors and lots of layering, and the projects that she’s sharing with us this month are no exception! Let’s take a look at what she’s sharing with us today.
Hi everyone! My name is Kim Watson and I’m super excited to be here guesting for Elle’s Studio this month. I have and always will be a huge fan of their clean style and graphic products, and the May 2018 Kit & latest collection definitely lived up to their awesome style and quality!
For todays post, I used the May 2018 Kit, as well as a few items from the Noteworthy collection. Inspired by the fabulous tags in the kit, with the fresh addition of purple, I set about to design a page full of layering, utilising as many of the fantastic bits included in the kit as I could.
Supplies | May 2018 Kit, Letter and Number Stickers — White, White Cardstock Alphabet Stickers, Hello Stamp, Noteworthy Cutouts, Noteworthy Bits and Pieces, Noteworthy Wood Veneers, Noteworthy Puffy Stickers, Noteworthy Epoxy Stickers, Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, Noteworthy 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection, Noteworthy Stamp
This page as I mentioned was inspired by the “big idea” tag in the May 2018 Kit. It reminded me of the huge, after school sandwiches our son loves to make for himself. The stamped sentiment “all the yummy details” on the Hello Stamp is tailormade for this page, right?!
Little tabs, included in the May 2018 Kit and Noteworthy Bits and Pieces inserted under the first layered cluster allowed me to stamp & write the date. Mini die cuts, also in the Noteworthy Bits and Pieces, and Noteworthy Puffy Stickers add the perfect color flash on the stitched border.
A circle cut from patterned paper in the Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack became a great accent on top of the green dots, showing off the cute Noteworthy Wood Veneer arrow, label from the Noteworthy Cutouts and Noteworthy Epoxy Stickers perfectly.
Now the title cluster—I love the texture & variety here! A mixture of the Noteworthy Puffy Stickers, White Cardstock Alphabet Stickers, White Letter and Number Stickers, a preprinted sentiment included in the May 2018 Kit & wood heart circle make this a winning combo!
The photo and journaling cluster is a super fun mixture of Noteworthy Epoxy Stickers, die cuts included in the May 2018 Kit, a label from the Noteworthy Bits and Pieces & Noteworthy Puffy Stickers. Trimming the lined tag from the kit down into a tag shape and stamping the “that’s my story” journal prompt from the Hello Stamp not only gave me plenty of room to tell my story, but is adds another gorgeous layer to the design.
I live on a mountainside with her family in a beautiful seaside suburb just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Life next to the ocean, surrounded by nature, gives me an endless source of content for my pages, which I would describe as being full of texture, layers, color and, of course, my trademark stitching. I am privileged to have been working in the scrapbooking industry for 12 years in many capacities, as designer, writer & in graphic design for product development. It is my passion & makes me excited to go to the office every day.
You can find more of my work on Instagram, my blog & YouTube.
Come back here next week to see what else Kim is creating with our new May Kit, add-ons and Noteworthy collection!
