A Rainbow of Fun with Guest Kim Watson

We really loved the gorgeous layout with a surprising color scheme that guest Kim Watson shared with us last week here on the blog. This week, she’s amazing us again with another layout, created with our May Kit and extras, as well as our Noteworthy collection to document an older photo that may have gotten lost otherwise. Let’s see how her page came together:

Hi everyone! My name is Kim Watson, and I am back again as the May guest designer with another page using the uber cute latest releases.

For todays post, I used a mixture of the May 2018 Kit & the Noteworthy collection. The quadrant paper really jumped out at me with it’s fabulous mixture of red and pink colors, and teamed with the awesome oversized wood veneer title, I had a winning combination!

I have been dying for an opportunity to scrapbook this photo taken of our children some years ago with their cousins. The grump face of the little guy in the forefront cracks me up every time I look at it! Elle’s Studio products always conjure up images of a rainbow, and what better angle to take with such a colorful photo!

Making use of the May Labels and Noteworthy Cutouts and Bits and Pieces, I created a colorful rainbow border under the top edge of the photo. Noteworthy Epoxy Stickers mounted on white and raised with foam adhesive, and a scattering of Noteworthy Wood Veneers create a rainbow border at the top of the page.

The Wood Veneer Fun title positioned exactly in line with the photo gives a lovely linear feel to the page design. Somehow, the control of the layout design balances out the riot of color.

Another rainbow in the form of journaling spots from the May Labels runs along the bottom of the page. Working in sequence, I used them to tell my story with ample space to hand journal.

Patterned papers from the Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack mat my photo with gorgeous results—the mini floral doing a great job of tying all the colors in the page together perfectly.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I live on a mountainside with her family in a beautiful seaside suburb just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Life next to the ocean, surrounded by nature, gives me an endless source of content for my pages, which I would describe as being full of texture, layers, color and, of course, my trademark stitching. I am privileged to have been working in the scrapbooking industry for 12 years in many capacities, as designer, writer & in graphic design for product development. It is my passion & makes me excited to go to the office every day.

You can find more of my work on Instagram, my blog & YouTube.

We can’t wait to see what Kim has to share with us next week! Until then, be sure to follow her via the links above for even more colorful inspiration!
