Hello there! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today, and for me, each Mother’s Day feels like a special gift, but my first Mother’s Day was very special. We had recently brought my daughter home from the hospital after spending three months in the NICU, due to her being born prematurely at 25 weeks gestation. I had not yet documented this day, and the May 2018 Kit and extras helped me to do it in a beautiful way.
Supplies | May 2018 Kit, Hello Good Times Printables, Arrow Label Stickers, Play All Day Phrase Stickers, Puffy Heart Stickers — Spring Mix, Yellow Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Hazel Alphabet Stamp, Hello Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 2 Stamp, Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack
I started out my pocket page layout by documenting the ordinary parts of our day—lounging in bed, feeding my daughter, and just enjoying those mornings before we had to get out of bed.
The “mom life” purple tag inspired this entire layout, and became my title tag. I stamped “mother’s” using the new Hazel Alphabet Stamp, then added “day” underneath using the Title Builder Vol. 2 Stamp, stamping it three times to use three different colors before cutting each letter out. I then added the year with the numbers in the Hazel Alphabet Stamp before adding a couple of spring mix Puffy Heart Stickers.
There was a lot of negative space on this photo of my daughter sleeping, so I decided to add some color with the purple dotted paper in the Noteworthy 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, the awesome label included on the Hello Stamp, and the pink Arrow Label Sticker topped with the “so sweet” Play All Day Phrase Sticker.
The bottom right photo was a vertical 4″ x 6″ photo, and I didn’t have one that would really go there to complete the documentation about our morning, so I added a favorite quote about motherhood to a tag I created using the Hello Good Times Printables. I simply mirrored two of the same 3″ x 4″ tag onto my 4″ x 6″ background, and added my quote before printing. A couple of the spring mix Puffy Heart Stickers finished it off. The nice, clean background adds a nice amount of white space to the front of the page.
The back of the page documents our afternoon: the beautiful gift I received from my husband—a string of pearls, and our celebratory brunch.
The “all the yummy details” tag included in the Hello Good Times Printables was perfect for adding the notes about our brunch, and to fit in the negative space in my photo, I trimmed out just that section of the tag after I printed it with my typed journaling. Below, I stamped and cut out the “this was perfect” phrase from the Hello Stamp and added the cute heart die cut from the May Kit.
This special Mother’s Day truly did feel like it belonged to me—it was such a special day and I am so happy to have it recorded using the May Kit and add-ons. How are you documenting your Mother’s Day, whether it be from 2018 or your first?
