I am a stay at home mom to two children; a son who is four and a daughter that is two. Before kids, I worked in logistics for retail companies.

I have lived in Arizona for the past nine years, but am a Texas girl at heart! My husband is from California, so we decided to live somewhere in between. I love southern cooking, baking and the outdoors. We have a vintage tiki trailer that we love to use to camp in on the weekends, or for week long ventures in the summer- to get out of the heat!

What is your current favorite color combo?
Pink and yellow.

What is your favorite scrapbooking supply?
I can’t do without journaling tags! I am really trying to learn more about the digital side of scrapbooking, but for now have taken the leap into the hybrid end. I love the flexibility that digital brings.
Why do you scrapbook and how did you get started?
I always kept ticket stubs, trinkets, and took lots of pictures throughout my childhood. There was always something in me that wanted to record events that were happening around me. I started to scrapbook in college, and got more serious when my children were born. I can distinctly remember going to a craft store in Waco, TX and really wanting to make something. I loved all the stamps and papers, but didn’t know quite what to do with it all! I have found crafting to be an outlet that pushes me creatively. I primarily do layouts, but also make many mini books and altered crafts… and cards, of course:)
Who inspires you?
I just love ripping out magazine and catalog pages. They give me tons of inspiration for color combinations, layouts, and themes. Travel and Leisure, Vogue, and Small magazine (online) are some favorites.
What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking is really such a fun hobby. I enjoy the whole process. From taking the pictures to pulling the layout together- it gives me a sense of accomplishment every time I complete a project.

This month has been crazy and exciting and… it’s going way to fast! We have been super busy in the studio doing a bunch of “behind the scenes” work, along with me spending some extra time with my family getting ready for my sisters new baby 🙂

We have some exciting news that we can finally announce! The 2011 calendars and a couple other new items will be launching very, VERY soon! Should be sometime next week… maybe even Tuesday?! We are waiting on one last thing 🙂 Make sure you’re on the newsletter list to be the first one to know when they go live!

Today is also the day I get to give my sister her BIG surprise that I’ve been working on for awhile now 🙂 Can’t wait! Here’s a little peek at what it might be … next week I’ll be able to take you through it, page by page!
And, we have some fun news to announce for classes! If you live close to Paper Tales in California, you’ll want to check out Samantha Sibbet’s (she was on our past design team) two classes she’ll be teaching this weekend and next weekend!
Both classes are for all skill levels and projects will be finished in class. Supplies are provided, except for the cutter and adhesive. Bonus!! The day of the class you will also receive a 10% discount for everything you buy at Paper Tales! Sounds and looks like so much fun! Wish I could be there 🙂

Summer is here! Sometimes it’s hard to find time in the summer to scrapbook those precious memories – so we have a challenge for you! Scrapbook your favorite part of summer, the thing you look forward too all year long!

We will be doing these challenges every month, with the challenge starting on the 2nd of each month and you’ll have until the 25th to complete the challenge and post a link to a photo of it or email us a photo of it. Then, we’ll enter everyone that has completed our challenge into a drawing for a prize! We’ll also be featuring some of the entries in a “wrap-up” blog post on the 25th when we announce the winner! Make sure you keep your calendar marked for more challenges to come!

We can hardly wait! Around here it’s all baby talk as we wait for my sister and her husband’s baby boy to arrive! She is now 36 weeks along and the doctor says she’s right on track for July 27th!

She and her husband just finished the nursery and it’s so cute! They did so much work to transform this room into the cutest nursery… ever! I wish I had some before pictures because you can’t even tell it’s the same room – imagine… white walls, no chair rail and totally empty 🙂
So hard to imagine that in less than a month our lives will change forever – This will be the first time for me to be an auntie, too! Woohoo!! Can you tell I’m excited?! Eeek! She got a 4d ultrasound a couple weeks ago and we got to see his cute and chubby cheeks 🙂 I’ve got to get my camera ready – lots of pictures when he’s born for sure!
