Sketch Thursday 09.27

Hello and welcome back to another Sketch Thursday! Today’s sketch is inspired by Jen’s goofball layout from the DT gallery.

Sophie took the challenge this week and WOW! look at the amazing layout she made:

Sophie said: “I loved this sketch and decided to use the layered part in the center to create a confetti pocket in order to convey a feeling of party as I was documenting my son’s third birthday. I used blue tags for a boyish look and inserted some tags under my vellum with the confetti.
I love Elle’s Studio printed tags as the sentiments are always very touching! how cute is that banner?”

I hope you join us again this week! For a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the Elle Studio Shop (new goodies now in stock!!) please post your layouts to the gallery and then link them here 🙂

Last week’s winner is Jennie M. Congratulations!!

Our Autumn/Halloween line is called Spooky Tales! It’s the perfect mix of tags for your Halloween, Autumn/Fall, thankfulness layouts, projects, and more!

Our holiday line this year is called Be Merry and the colors are amazing! There’s tons of tags that will work great for layouts, mini albums, cards, and more! Along with numbers that are perfect for December Daily!

And, both collections have tags sized perfectly for the Project Life page protectors, Studio Calico’s Handbook, and even Echo Park’s Photo Freedom Sleeves!

We also have some good news about our stamps and digital goodies:

All our stamps have been restocked!

And, don’t miss out on your LAST CHANCE to purchase and download our Summer Mini Album Workshop class and tags! This class will be retiring on September 30th and won’t be available again! Use coupon code digisale during checkout for 30% off this class and ALL our digital items! This offer expires September 30th, 2012 at midnight.

Are you ready for a blog hop, too?! Our design team has put together a fun blog hop to celebrate the launch of our new collections! At each stop in the hop you’ll be able to see a sneak peek of their upcoming October Inspiration Gallery that will be debuting on October 1st AND have a chance to WIN their favorite items from our new release! Plus, as you’re hopping along, you might even see who our Guest Design Team Member is going to be for October!

For this stop along the hop, we will be drawing two winners! One person will win the entire Be Merry collection and the other will win the entire Spooky Tales collection! Just leave a comment to be entered to win it and we’ll draw the two winners on Saturday, September 29th – so make sure you check back to see if you’ve won! And, keep hopping along for even more chances to win!

Thank you for joining us on this SUPER exciting day!

p.s. We’ve been getting a ton of emails asking if we are going to be doing a Christmas kit this year. We have decided to NOT do a kit this year, since our Be Merry collection has so many items that would work great for December Daily. However, we do still have an exclusive something special planned! If you love stamping, stay tuned for that announcement in October!

Project Life

This week’s Project Life covers the week of August 27- September 2.

This particular week was the first full week of school for us– so it was all about transitioning from summer to school!  I loved using Elle’s Studio printable Back to School tags this week!

I focused this week on putting my stamps to use.  I am not a BIG stamper but i am coming around -especially with Project Life. Stamps are great for titles, dates, embellishments and journaling spots.

On the left page I added the True Happiness Stamp.  I wanted it to stick out like a tab on the date pocket, so I stamped it on white cardstock and punched out out with my 2″circle punch. I also used the Snapshop Details stamp directly on my photo (bottom right).  I love how a stamp looks directly on my photo!!  I also love using alphabet stamps for the title– it may take a little more time, but I love using a product that can be used over and over again!

Now for the winner of last week’s giveaway, a $25 Gift Card to our Shop— Congrats to Keianna!!

Having some fun with our Spooky Tales collection!

This weekend I got a chance to sit down and play with our Spooky Tales collection that is coming out this Wednesday, September 26th it’s here!! I love how this collection is a mix of Autumn and Halloween, and I had so much fun documenting the changing season with this layout.

For the leaves, I used this template, and misted a piece of white cardstock with half gold and half dark brown. Then I cut the leaves out of the misted paper AND matching leaves in vellum paper. I matched up the same shaped leaves (one cardstock, one vellum) and glued them together a little offset, then layered them down the side of my layout, and added a 4 x 6 Spooky Tales journaling tag, along with some Spooky Tales Pennants, and a label from our 3 x 4 Spooky Tales tags.

I’m loving this new collection so much – can’t wait to see what you guys make with it!

Our new items are coming soon!

We are so excited to announce that our new items will be available this Wednesday, September 26th at 8:00 am! Along with the launch of our two new collections: Spooky Tales & Be Merry, we will be having a fun blog hop, so mark your calendars and don’t miss out on all the fun!

Sketch Thursday 09.20

Happy Thursday! Today’s sketch was inspired by Jennifer’s My Favorite Fishing Spot layout from the Design Team Gallery.
A great way to keep your focus on the picture and add a just a few embellies to pretty it up a bit 🙂

DT member, Diana is back this week with another fabulous take on the sketch:

She said: “I really liked the clustering of embellishments on the top left hand side so I layered up arrows stamping on pattern paper.  The other inspiring piece on this layout was the large picture.”

Show us what you do with this sketch! For a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the ES shop post your projects to the gallery then link them up here.

Project Life team up with Basic Grey!

This week’s Project Life covers the week of August 20-26 in my album, which was back to school week!!

We have something special and different for today’s Project Life post!  Today we are teaming up with Basic Grey and showing you how well Elle’s Studio and Basic Grey work together AND in Project Life!

I was super lucky to be able to work with Basic Grey’s brand new Soleil collection.  And can I just mention that  Soleil and our own Sweet Life collection works perfectly together???

Since this was the first week of school, I used tags from our new Elle’s Studio Back to School Printables.  The “Schedule” tag and the “Back to School” tag are both found in this printable collection (which includes 24 tags!)

This week was incredibly busy for my family. Not only did we have the first week of school, we also hosted a HUGE party with my extended family (300+ people!), AND the next day I hosted my fifteen year high school reunion.

One of the most favorite attractions at our family party was a photo booth.  I was really lucky to be able to collect the “extra” filmstrips and created an insert with some of my favorites. So I decided to create an insert featuring my FAVORITE film strip on the front, and a few other favorite of our family and friends on the back.  I based the insert on the Pomelo paper from Basic Grey’s Soleil Collection, and included tabs found in the Back to School Printables.

On the right page I used one the the Sweet Life 4×6 Journaling cards as a base for a photo.  I trimmed my 4×6 photo to fit on the journaling card and journaled around the photo!  I love how it allows me to include a large photo, but add something extra with the outline of the card.

One thing I realized while creating this week’s Project Life layout, was that I need to document more… meaning, I feel I want to create a layout to fill in the gaps.  It was such a FULL week.  I love that every thing is included in the spread, however, I touched on my high school reunion with one photo. There’s more to be said about this event and the friends I reconnected with.  I LOVE that Project Life helps guide me on those events that need more attention.

It was so wonderful to combine Elle’s Studio products with Basic Grey’s Soleil collection.  Please be sure to stop by Basic Grey’s blog to see Melanie’s Project Life spread using Elle’s Studio and Basic Grey products (plus she is offering a nice giveaway:).

We have a special giveaway today!!!

We are giving away a $25 gift certificate to the Elle’s Studio shop!  Leave a comment on today’s post for your chance to win this prize!  We will announce the win in our Project Life post next Tuesday!
