Hi everyone! Welcome to a special edition of our weekly sketches…

Lets spread some cheer this holiday season by sending handmade cards to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers… everyone is sure to love them!

For my card, I moved the circles around and mixed stamps, buttons, brads and tags to created a Christmas tree. An oldie but goodie 😉

Project Life

This week’s Project Life cover the week of October 1-7.

If you have been checking in on our Project Life post for awhile, you may know by now that I am always looking for ways to go beyond only documenting “what we did”.   This week I explored a few more prompts as I went about sharing our week.   Here are a few prompts I touched on:

Where did we go this week?
What did I make this week?
What did the kids learn this week?

Who did we invite over this week?
What did my husband and I  or the kids pray about this week?

What meetings were scheduled this week?

What games did we play this week?
What did we watch on TV this week?
Who did we call this week? (which seems like a highlight anyway since we live in a world of text now!).

What were memorable quotes this week?
Did anything out of the ordinary happen this like (like a helicopter landing in your backyard, etc).

Sometimes a few extra prompts help me get the ball rolling when putting together my “recap” of the week.

I also wanted to point out that I was able to use many of the NEW Elle’s Studio exclusive Christmas stamps for this week’s spread.  YES it’s October and I am already able to use this stamp set.  Elle designed the Christmas Stamps to have a wonderful variety of items that can be used during the holidays AND through out the year.   So in love with this set– make sure to grab yours soon because they are selling quickly.

Congrats to Lisa P, the winner of last week’s Prize Pack.   Please email michelle@shopellesstudio.com the following info to claim your prize:

Extra dimension for your layouts using tissue paper!

Hey everyone!

A lot of you were asking what I used and how I added this extra dimension to my layout I made in this post, so this weekend we put together a short how-to video! And, the best part about this tip is that I just used plain ol’ tissue paper! It’s super cheap, but the elegant look it gives your projects is amazing!

Here’s the quick how-to video, we hope you like it! I’m pretty new to this video thing, so be nice 🙂 lol!

Don’t forget, you can make a bunch of these ahead of time and how cute would they also look on cards and in your December Daily?! I just made a mini book the other day and used some – can’t wait to share that with you, too!

Happy crafting, everyone!

p.s. We are keeping all of those in the path of this strong storm in our thoughts and prayers – please stay safe!

Thank you so much!

We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has already purchased our exclusive Christmas stamp! We are over 1/2 way sold out and we just released them on Wednesday – you guys are incredible! We cannot wait to see what you create with them – make sure you upload your projects to our gallery! And, check your inbox for shipping confirmations – we are shipping the orders as fast as possible and plan to be all caught up by Monday. If you haven’t received your shipping confirmation yet, you should by then 🙂 We are so grateful for each one of your purchases and cannot thank you enough for your support!

If you haven’t purchased your stamp, you can check them out here. We do not have plans to restock them once they sell out, and we are the only ones carrying this stamp! Don’t miss out on this fun stamp that works perfectly for December Daily, Project Life, layouts, cards, etc. AND even after the holidays! You’ll also want to check out our entire Be Merry collection, that is going to work great for all your holiday projects, too!

Last night I was playing around with the stamp and realized we didn’t highlight how some of the stamps work together!

The “celebrate” and “Christmas Wishes” stamp both fit perfectly in the striped box stamp! How cool is that?

We’ll be showing some more projects soon and can’t wait to see yours! Thanks so much for all your support!

Sketch Thursday 10.24

Happy Thursday everyone! Today’s sketch was inspired by Becky’s ‘Cutest little Pumpkin in the Patch‘ layout from the Design Team gallery.

DT member Angie created this scrumptious layout… look at all the texture here!

Angie said: “I loved the blocks of paper behind the pictures.  And instead of the little pictures I used journaling cards.”

Would you play along with us? For your chance to win a $5 gift certificate, create a layout inspired by this sketch, post it to the ES gallery and link it to this post.

We loved seeing all the entries last week! Thank you so much for playing along. The lucky winner is… Amelie.

Our Exclusive Christmas Stamp is HERE!

Today is the BIG day – Our exclusive and limited edition Christmas stamp is here! This clear stamp measures 4 x 6 inches and has 14 different sentiments on it. It would work perfectly for layouts, holiday cards, Project Life and of course, December Daily! Here is a peek at it:

And, to celebrate our new exclusive stamp release, and since this will be our last new product release (for physical product) until the new year, we are shipping all orders over $25 for FREE today and tomorrow, only! This includes international and overseas friends, too! You’ll want to use coupon code 25free during checkout at our site.

We also want to note that we have no plans to restock this stamp when it sells out!

I took some time the other night to play around with this new stamp set and here’s a peek at what I created:

Loving that little “ho, ho, ho” bubble! Can you image using things in your December Daily and Project Life album, too?!

And, the “Christmas wishes” looked so awesome stamped along the top!

And, I couldn’t stop there! I saw these little trees made out of scrap paper on Pinterest and knew it would make the perfect Christmas card! I used the “merry merry Christmas” stamp and layered our “good cheer” tag and “tis the season to be jolly” tag in there among some paper scraps!

The tree trunk is made out of some brown washi tape 🙂

So much fun! The ideas with this stamp set are almost limitless, because after the holidays are over, there are still stamps on this set that will work for other projects, too! We are loving it and hope you do, also 🙂

We also have THREE winners to announce from our fun contest! The winners are:

The holidays are right around the corner and we getting so excited about the season!

Project Life

This week’s Project Life covers the week of September 24-30th.

I have to say, documenting the fall season has been my favorite so far.  It’s a lot of fun to incorporate fall activities, colors, and even the everyday in my layouts.

However, I tried to keep a balance of the “everyday” yet keep with a fall-ish theme.  I stopped by a farmers market this week and snapped photos of their beautiful and unique pumpkin display.  It was the perfect “filler” for photos this week.  We also had a week full of everyday chores, field trips, football, and parties.

One of my favorite iPhone apps is PostalPix.  I usually print my Instagram photos from this app.  You can order on your phone and the prints are mailed to you.  Just recently they have included a 2×2 size to their prints (4×4 was the smallest print prior to this).

Not only is it super exciting to have this smaller size, but the prints come in a 6×6 collage sheet.  You can keep the collage in-tact or you can trim the photos.  I created a collage from a fun birthday party to include as an insert.  The 6×6 page protector is by We R Memory Keepers.  I trimmed the 6×6 spot from the full 12×12 sheet.

Since the party was an outdoor movie party, I kept the back side of the insert plain with just pattern paper.  This star paper is older paper by October Afternoon– it went perfectly with the party theme.  Sometimes it’s fun to breakaway from your color scheme and represent the moments you are documenting.

I placed an Elle’s Studio Sweet Life Pennant at the bottom of the insert with the party favor we all received.

On the right side of the layout I told a few everyday stories from our “extra” activities– football and ballet.  These activities have made our weeks very busy but it’s a fun part of our lives right now.

Congrats to Blackinese the winner of last week’s Prize Pack.   Please email michelle@shopellesstudio.com the following info to claim your prize:
