Thankful Mini Album

I had so much fun creating this thankful mini album the other day! I pulled a bunch of scrap papers out that I had been saving, some of my tissue paper layers, and a ton of Elle’s Studio tags (see links at the bottom of this post).

It was so relaxing to sit down and create this, adding layers and layers, And I’m so thankful for all the magical moments this mini album captures! Now all that’s left to do is journaling some sweet notes into it and display it on the table for Thanksgiving 🙂 Can’t wait for that turkey dinner and to be surrounded my all our loved ones!

Project Life

This week’s Project Life covers the week of October 15-21.

Moving right along in “getting caught up” in Project Life by keeping it simple whenever possible.  One way to “keep it simple” is to use Elle’s Studio notecards that are perfectly sized to fit in your Project Life album.

You can see on both pages I use the Spooky Tales Large 4×6 journaling tags, and the Spooky Tales Note tags 3×4.  Both of these items fit perfectly in the Project Life pockets.

For the 3×4 Note Tags, I often like to use these spots for journaling, or to add a smaller photo, or a stamp sentiment.  For the Large Journaling Tags (4×6), I often use for my date card, or I place a wallet or instax on these cards and journal along the side.  It really makes completing a Project Life spread super easy and fast!

Congrats to Heather Sweet the winner of last week’s Prize Pack.   Please email michelle@shopellesstudio.com the following info to claim your prize:

Elle’s December Daily

I can’t believe December is almost here – time is just going too fast! I’m excited to let you know that I decided to do December Daily again this year, even though I have limited time to put towards the project. After looking at last years album, I knew it was something I wanted to make extra time for – last years album captured so many special memories and is SO FUN to look through. It inspired me so much, that after I looked through it I went through my scrapbooking supplies and made my cover and base pages, picked out a bunch of ES goodies and made a little box that will sit on my counter during December, that will make the supplies easy to grab all month long. Making my cover and base pages ahead of time will help me tremendously when it comes time to plug in the other items during December!

Here’s a peek at what I’m using:

Be Merry Large Journaling Tags: I decided to go with a 4 x 6 inch sized album this year – I’m making my own cover and inside pages. For some of the pages, I’m going to use these large journaling tags! They are already cut to the correct size and ready to go! I’m also planning on using Ali Edwards 4 x 6 Overlays. I love this smaller size – it is less overwhelming and on days where you just want to use a photo, you can! Don’t forget, if you are incorporating your December Daily into your Project Life, these tags will fit those pockets 😉

Be Merry 3 x 4 inch Note Tags: These tags are the perfect size, too, for pages where you just want to use half of the photo or have a mini page in your book! I love the prompts on them and have plans to use those prompts to help me with my journaling during the month. These mixed journaling tags will also be perfect! Don’t forget, if you are incorporating your December Daily into your Project Life, these tags will also fit those pockets 😉

Be Merry Number Cutouts: You can’t do a December Daily album without numbers! I’ve pre-cut all mine and they are in a little dish, waiting for the days to come! I’m also planning on using our Number It stamp for some of the days, and even stamp the date right on the photo with white ink!

Be Merry 3 inch Circles & Tidbits: Embellishing along the way will be easy with these large and small circle tags! I’ve got these in a little dish ready to go, too!

Be Merry Pennants, Cutouts, Labels, Wishlist, and Silent Night snippet: I’m excited to use the Wishlist tag from this snippet to write down some things on everyone’s wishlist this year – it’s so interesting looking back on these! And, with these labels, writing down little notes on photos will be super easy! The pennants and cutouts will make embellishing easy, also – I’ve also pre-cut these and have them ready to go.

Elle’s Studio Exclusive Christmas Stamp: I’m so excited about using this stamp – I’ve got my red and green inks out! There are so many sentiments on this stamp that will work perfectly for the season, but also for after the season, too! These stamps are getting close to selling out and are a limited edition, so if you’ve been eyeing it, you better grab one while you can!

And, here is a top view of my cover!

I picked up that white snowflake from Target in their ornament section last week, and then cut a 4 x 6 inch piece of wood-grain paper to go behind it. I’m not using an actual album for my mini, I’m just going to bind the pages together with punched holes and either some cute ribbon or metal rings! For the tag on the cover I used some paper from Crate’s Christmas collection and some gold dotted paper I made by adding glue in a circle pattern, then sprinkling the gold glitter on top. I then cut down the “December Treasured Moments” tag from our 3 x 4 inch note tags and added the year on top with wood-grain letters.

It’s going to be an exciting month and I’m all ready for it to come now 🙂 We can’t wait to see what you do this year with your December album! Make sure you upload your pages to our Member Gallery!

It’s the PERFECT PAIR!

Welcome to our first ever, PERFECT PAIR sale! Today through Sunday, only, when you purchase our Number It stamps, you’ll receive our Spooky Tales 3 x 4 note tags for FREE!

We love how well these two products work together – they make the PERFECT PAIR! And today we have some amazing layouts showing you them in action!

Jill created this layout using all of our Spooky Tales 3 x 4 inch note tags! Then, she stamped numbers from our Number It stamp on the tags, too! How cute is that? I love how many photos she was able to get on this layout and all the details it holds.

Angie created this layout and used our Spooky Tales 3 x 4 inch note tags to hold her journaling, and then stamped right on her layout with our Number It stamps! I love the little clusters of embellishments she added, too!

Waleska created this layout, and used one of the Spooky Tales 3 x 4 inch note tags, along with the Number It stamps. I’m also loving the pattern she also created at the bottom by folding paper into squares!

Michelle created this layout and made a collage out of the Spooky Tails 3 x 4 inch note tags, and then stamped the Number It stamps directly on them. She then journaled for each number that was stamped. I love all the details she was able to capture here!

So much fun – don’t you just love how well these two items work together? This sale ends on Sunday or while supplies last! And, no coupon code is needed, we’ll add the item to your order when we pack it for shipping (you do NOT need to add it to your cart).

Hope you all have an amazing and crafty weekend!

P.S.You know what else these Number It stamps would be perfect for? December Daily!!

Why did you start scrapbooking and how did you get started?

I started scrapbooking just after I got married.  I really wanted to create a pretty album and by chance heard about it on a TV program.  I hopped onto the internet and ordered some products as I couldn’t find what I wanted here in Belgium.  It started to become a serious hobby 5 years ago and I love it more and more each day.  Not only does it immortalize our family’s stories, but it’s my therapy.  A way to relax after a bustling day at work and caring for 4 kids.

What are the three products you can’t live without?

Hard question but I am a paper addict so the first would be pattern paper.  Second: my cameo.  I was reluctant to invest in a machine like this but I haven’t regretted it.  Love it to bits!  Third product must be ink or mist.  I love white space but it must not be bare and splatters just add that extra detail I like.

Where do you scrapbook?

I am lucky to have my own office space.  I am a full time teacher and I don’t have an office at school so I need lots of space for my books and you name it.  I have managed to make a quarter of the room my scrap space.  In the near future I plan on buying office furniture, I’ll probably tweak it around a bit but it suits me just fine.

What/who inspires you?

Everything can inspire me.  I am kinda hooked on Pinterest and love pinning everything from interior design to advertisements.  I love so many scrapbookers and there are too many to name here and they all inspire me one way or another.  I love challenges and I am always on the look for something (technique, product, …).  I love learning and anything that pushes me in a new direction is inspiration.

What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?

My favorite thing about scrapbooking, other than recording our family stories, is that it has made me discover who I am.  It has given me confidence and made me see that I can make pretty things.  Scrapbooking has made me a stronger person and has enabled me to achieve other goals in completely different domains.  I have met so many fabulous people over the years who I now call friends and that is why I love this hobby so much.

Today we are giving away Lilith’s favorite Elle’s Studio products!

Leave a comment here today for your chance to win our Number It Stamps, Sweet Life Pennants, and Spooky Tales Tidbits.  We will post the winner Monday November 12.

Project Life

This week’s Project Life covers the week of October 8-14.

One thing I love about Project Life is that each week is a new, fresh, canvas.  Your layout can be anything you want it to be –detailed, intricate, or simple, and to the point.  You can make it fit your life, and your schedule, week-by-week.

This happens to be one of those week’s for me.  I had slightly fewer photos and much less time to devote to putting the details into the layout.  And you know what?  I love it just the same.

This week there was a huge focus on something exciting happening with my family– a book is being released (available today actually!) titled “Resolve“, and it’s about my grandfather’s WW2 story.  This particular week was when the pre-release copies were sent to my family.  It was such a surreal, powerful moment to hold that book in my hands.  My grandfather was such a documenter.   He believed everyone’s story had importance, and he took great care in documenting and sharing his own life story. And now, thirty years after his death, his story is being published in book format.  Never underestimate the power of your story.
I know if he was here today he would love this amazing concept of Project Life. 🙂
I kept it simple this week, focusing on the book, and some promotional pieces that went along with it.  And I chose simple photos and stories that stirred my heart.
Because that is what it’s all about, isn’t it?

The holidays are right around the corner and it’s never too early to get a head start on your cards! I’ve put together a fun video to get you started and inspired! In this video below, I’m showing you how I made these three cards above – two of the cards have a complete step-by-step, too!

So, grab some scrap paper and you’re Elle’s Studio Exclusive Christmas Stamp and let’s get started!

We hope you enjoyed the video (again, this is only my second, so please be nice, lol!!). These cards where so fun to make and would be easy to “mass” produce if you needed too.
