Project Life

 

Welcome to another week of Project Life at Elle’s Studio!  This week’s Project Life covers the week of February 18-24.

This was the type of week where I had few photos Monday- Friday, and a TON from Saturday and Sunday.  We took a weekend getaway to Chicago, so I obviously had many photos from the weekend.

What I love about Project Life is that PHOTOS is not the only way to document your week.

The left side of the spread documented my Monday-Friday.  My trusty iPhone came in handy for the few photos I included.   I even used one of my brother’s Instagram photos of him, my sister, and my mom as they embarked on a major trip overseas.    Elle’s Studio’s “This week at a Glance” 4×6 card (found in the Day to Day Large and Medium Journaling Tags pack) is a perfect “filler” for a week with fewer photos.
Even though I had few photos from the week, I managed to include an insert in my album.  It mainly documents our trip to Chicago.   I saved museum maps, American Girl packaging, and tickets to include within the spread.  
The front side of the insert features our trip to the Shedd Aquarium, and the back side of the insert features our trip to the American Girl store– both were very memorable!

There were more stories I wanted to document from our weekend getaway, but that’s when I decide a layout is best (rather than packing my Project Life with one event).   I have begun including my layouts within my Project Life album, since this is our main family album now.   I will likely create an 8.5 x 11 layout at some point and included it within this week.

March’s Inspiration Gallery is now LIVE!

Happy March, everyone! Can you believe it’s already here? We are excited because this March is going to bring a ton of fun and new things, and the first new thing is our Design Team’s Inspiration Gallery! They have made some outstanding projects to inspire us this month, so make sure you check them out now – there’s layouts, cards, mini albums, and even a keepsake box project!

Also, we are SUPER excited to announce that Emily Pitts is our special guest this month! Emily is such a sweetheart and I always look forward to seeing her at each CHA show. She’s made an amazing mini album and two cute layouts, so make sure you check them out! We’ll be spotlighting her in the coming days, so stay tuned for that!

Blog Hop with Social Media Butterflies!

Hey everyone! I’m very excited to be taking part in the Social Media Butterflies blog hop today as a guest! This is a great group of talented ladies that do a blog hop every month, at the end of the month. This month they have chosen to work with our You & Me collection and I feel so honored! Project Life Member Gallery Spotlight

We have LOVED all the Project Life inspiration in the Member Gallery!  We chose three layouts to highlight today in our Member Gallery Spotlight.

This is a fabulous spread by LaurelS— the details and pops of green are fabulous!

We love this spread by rukristinpapercrafts and love how she used the “hello handsome” lil snippet.

This layout was created by stephaniebryan, we just adore her style and the way she used the Elle’s Studio tags in so many different ways.

Project Life

This week’s Project Life covers the week of February 11-17th: Valentine’s Week!

Let’s be honest.  There are week’s that are busier than others.  This past week was one of those weeks where I had little time to work on my spread.  The beauty of Project Life is that you can spend as much or as little time on each individual week.   And I love that Elle’s Studio products make the process super easy.

The wonderful thing about Valentine’s week is that there are SO many opportunities to add inserts and ephemera.  Cards, flower arrangement notes, Valentine dinner menu/cocktail napkin, and children’s valentines are all wonderful ideas to include.

My kids are still savoring their Valentine’s, so I plan to add them in an insert at a later date.  But I DID add a photo of the flowers my husband sent me along with the note that was included.

This particular week I began working on an upcoming trip to Disney World.  I decided to include a screen shot of my planning in Project Life.  Screen shots are a great thing to include within your spread.  Also, are you planning anything for spring break or summer travels?  This would be a great thing to include as well.

Sketch Thursday

It’s Thursday! You know what that means… we have another sketch and extra inspiration from our DT.  This week’s sketch was inspired by Katie’s To Be Loved by You layout. I love the color blocking she created with different papers and patterns.

DT member, Sarah played along this week and created this super sweet layout:


Sarah said: As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew which picture I wanted to scrap. I liked this sketch because of the potential for layers and the option of having lots of white space (I love white space!). I compressed down the center point of the sketch for lots of white space and layered a number of different tags and labels for my final take.
