Happy, Happy Day with Marsha Farris

Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Marsha here, sharing a fun traveler’s notebook layout. I used the December kit and add-ons to create this spread, documenting my son’s thirteenth birthday.

Supplies | December 2022 KitDecember 2022 Labels, Let it Snow Die CutsStencil Number Banner Die CutsWhite and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers, The Best Paper Stack, Warm Solids Paper StackIn The Mail Stamp, Snow Much Fun Stamp, Hazel Alphabet Stamp, Large Photo Strip Metal Die

To begin the layout, I trimmed white cardstock to use as the background. I selected a patterned paper from the The Best Paper Stack and used the Large Photo Strip Metal Die to cut it out. Tags from the December Kit were great for backing two sections of the photo strip. I then created the title by stamping the word “happy” two times using the In The Mail Stamp and navy ink and completed it with White and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers.

For the center square of the photo strip, I used the Hazel Alphabet Stamp and navy ink to stamp the numbers one and three onto gray cardstock from the Warm Solids Paper Stack. Next, I adhered two Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts over the stamped numbers and trimmed them out, leaving a gray border around the edges. I love how this banner element turned out! I completed the bottom square of the photo strip by stamping words from the In The Mail Stamp and Snow Much Fun stamps onto each label.

I created a simple tag by printing my journaling on white cardstock, adding a strip of patterned paper to the top, and trimming it into a tag shape. Because I did not adhere the top portion of the photo strip to the page, I was able to slip the tag under the strip. This also added interest and color to the top of the page.

For the right side of the layout, I added a strip of trimmed patterned paper from the The Best Paper Stack to the edge. Then, I backed my photo with a piece of patterned paper from the same paper stack. I embellished the page with the Let it Snow and December Kit die cuts. A bit of stamping with the Let it Snow and In The Mail stamps and a few stars from the Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers were perfect to complete the layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope I have given you some ideas for using the December kit and add-ons! Happy crafting!

Winter Greetings with Nathalie Leonelli

Hello Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Nathalie here sharing a new set of cards I created with the December kit and a minimal number of extras. Since today is the Winter Solstice, I decided to celebrate the change of season and the return of colder weather.

Supplies | December 2022 Kit, Let it Snow Die CutsTwinkle Paper StackCool Solids Paper StackLayered Card Metal Die

My first card’s main focus is a vellum window with a large embroidered snowflake. It is an overall clean and simple design, but it did take a bit of time to make. The sentiment was easy as it came directly from the Let it Snow Die Cuts!

To create the centerpiece, I chose one of the large snowflakes from the Let it Snow Die Cuts, and adhered it on vellum before using it as an embroidery template. I love the result with the silvery grey thread and the frosty-looking background.

The second card has more of a layered look, but still relies heavily on the Let it Snow Die Cuts

For the base, I layered a blue tag from the December Kit with two papers from the Cool Solids Paper Stack. The sentiment cluster comprises die cuts from the Let it Snow Die Cuts and a navy piece from the kit.

To balance the card visually, I added interest in the upper right corner by creating a small banner combining pennants from the Let it Snow Die Cuts pack and the December Kit

I guess I should have started by mentioning that the Let it Snow Die Cuts were one of my must-haves this month! I hope you’ll enjoy them (and the December Kit) as much as I have! It is a special release for me as it is the last one I received as a member of the design team.

Thank you all so much for your support and thank you Elle and Meghann for five fabulous years playing with the most amazing products. Happy Holidays to all!

All The Holiday Details with Michelle Flynn

Happy Holidays, friends! I’m so excited to be here with you today to share a pocket page layout using the beautiful new December release! During the holidays it can be challenging to find creative time and I wanted to show you that even with limited time you can still create a fun layout with simple details using just a few pocket tags and stamps! Simple, yet filled with tiny details!

Supplies | December 2022 Kit, Icon Label Cardstock Stickers, Snow Much Fun Stamp, Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp, Christmas Phrases Stamp

I started by choosing my favorite pocket tags from the December 2022 Kit that complimented each other and if you know me by now you know I’ve finally discovered what my style is! Monochromatic colors all the way! I find that they draw me in visually, so I loved how these three beautiful pocket tags did just that.

I chose the Snow Much Fun Stamp and the Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp to create my own phrases for my first pocket tag. I love how the combination of the fonts creates a beautiful story to start the layout and it was so fun to play around with different phrases.

The Icon Label Cardstock Stickers are just awesome! I was excited about using these and chose two of the green labels with a tree and a camera, so cute! I trimmed them down to adhere both of them as tiny bullet points for my journaling on this second pocket tag. They added just the right little detail to accent the pocket tag.

For my final pocket tag, I was going to stamp a title at the top, but since I’d stamped on the opening pocket tag, I thought a die cut embellishment from the December 2022 Kit would be the perfect detail to add a bit of texture and adhered it with a tiny stapler.

I love the fact that with just a few items from the December 2022 Kit, this layout looks a bit more detailed than it really was, with simple, thoughtful details! I hope you have the best holiday and I hope to see your inspiration using the beautiful December Kit using the #ellesstudio hashtag on Instagram!

We love how Melissa added teal into her album and created such a fabulous title with the Teal Acetate Alphabet, White and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Stickers and The Tiniest Date Stamp! We also love the shipping tag holding her journaling, added to her spread using the Attacher Metal Die!

Suzanna enjoyed a special day out this month, and documented it on this spread using the Document December 2022 Kit! How special that she kept the menu for their holiday tea and included it underneath her flip-up photo! What a great idea, Suzanna!

Wei Wei Wang

Vellum is perfect for layering on top of your photos and paper to give a layered effect without covering up what is underneath, and Wei Wei used the Title Builder Vol. 6 Vellum Die Cut Words and Magical Memories Vellum Die Cut Shapes along with the Document December products to add the perfect embellishment to her page. We also love her photo strip, cut with the Large Photo Strip Metal Die!

Snow Much Fun Creating in Pockets with Meghann Andrew

Hello, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Meghann Andrew here! It’s bittersweet as I join you today with my final project here at Elle’s Studio, which I hope will inspire you! The December kit and add-ons include such a fun mix of holiday and winter themes, and in today’s project—a fun pocket page—I leaned on those winter vibes and pretty, cool colors! Take a look!

Supplies | December 2022 KitDecember 2022 Printables, Let it Snow Die CutsMatte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers, White and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Adventure Paper Stack, Cool Solids Paper Stack, Snow Much Fun Stamp, Winter Tabs Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp, Parker Solid Alphabet Stamp, Parker Outlined Alphabet Stamp

I knew that pockets were the way to go, since I had so many photos from this sledding adventure!

The first pocket that I got to work on was my title pocket, of course! I combined the Parker Solid and Parker Outlined Alphabet Stamps to add a big and colorful “snow” word to a 4 x 4″ piece of grid paper from the Adventure Paper Stack. I combined it with “much fun” from the Snow Much Fun Stamp and then added the date using the White and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers. To dress up this custom title tag, I added snowflakes from the Let it Snow Die Cuts and three Matte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers.

I paired my title tag with a blue journaling tag from the December 2022 Kit at the top, and this pretty filler tag at the bottom. On it, I layered the snowflake and the label Let it Snow Die Cuts, adding “hello winter” from the Winter Tabs Stamp.

This fun pocket, created with a 4 x 6-inch tag from the December 2022 Kit was SO fun to make! I started by stamping fun winter phrases on the labels from the Winter Tabs Stamp. I then added snowflakes and the “brrr!” word from the Let it Snow Die Cuts, then added a bit of sparkle with the Matte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers and a few sparkly enamel dots. This is my favorite card on the spread.

This simple pocket started with the snowflake tag from the December 2022 Printables that I printed at the wrong settings. Although it was too small to fit the pocket, I simply backed it with a piece of light blue paper from the Cool Solids Paper Stack. To top the printable, I added a blue snowflake from the Let it Snow Die Cuts and an enamel dot. Easy and oh-so pretty!

Ready to see how easy it was to put this spread together with these new, fun products? Check out my latest process video:

Thank you so much for joining me today, friends, and throughout my time here at Elle’s Studio! I am excited to see the future products that ES has in store for us, and will continue to watch the inspiration come from the amazing Elle’s Studio team! All the best to each of you, and happy creating!

5, 6, 7, 8 with LeeAnne Jones

Hello, everyone! It’s LeeAnne here, with a fun and festive layout featuring the new Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts paired with the December kit and extras.

Supplies | December 2022 KitStencil Number Banner Die CutsMatte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers, White Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Twinkle Paper Stack, The Tiniest Date Stamp

The Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts includes two of each number, 0 through 9, in a classic stencil-style font punched from white cardstock pennant shapes. They’re super versatile: You could use one or two to number a Document December entry, use several in a numbered list layout, or string a few together like bunting, as I have done to document my daughter’s holiday dance performance.

To make the numbers pop and coordinate with the photo, I backed each flag with Twinkle Paper Stack patterned paper, aiming for a balance of red and green. Filling the space between the numbers are strips cut from various journal tags in the December 2022 Kit.

To add a little dimension to the bunting, I used several techniques. I ran chunky red and white twine across the top of the flags to give the impression they are hanging. I also ran the twine through metal eyelets to anchor it in the space. Lastly, I used foam adhesive under the bottom of each flag, to lift it off the paper just a little.

Journaling on white strips helped to balance the bold White Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers at the top of the layout. With the addition of the date and a sprinkling of Matte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers, the layout felt complete.

I hope this layout inspires you to use the Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts to help document your memories. When you do, share with the hashtag #ellesstudio. We can’t wait to see! Thank you!

A December “Real Life” Layout with Suzanna Lee

Hello there Elle’s Studio fans! Suzanna here today to share with you a non-snowy, non-Christmas layout created with the December kit and add-ons. I feel like this time of year we are inundated with all things Christmas and it’s lovely sometimes to just “be”.

Here’s my layout:

Supplies | December 2022 KitDecember 2022 Printables, December 2022 Print and Cut Labels, December 2022 Labels, Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts, Matte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers, Twinkle Paper Stack, Snow Much Fun Stamp

This layout is block-based with a slight skew to the top of the page. When you’re using pocket tags, it’s natural to gravitate toward that grid or block. Elements such as the fussy cut greenery or the hanging banners help soften that grid and break it up. There is a mix of both December Kit and December 2022 Printables included.

The Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts are perfect here at the top of the grid, each number slightly askew, to represent the year. They are backed with cardstock from the Twinkle Paper Stack in the darker green, in-keeping with the monochromatic color scheme I have established.

The photos were converted to black and white in order to work with the color palette. The colors in the photo themselves were non-complimentary and the emotion of the photos here is more the emphasis which the black and white highlights. Note how I used the “Prepared/Unprepared” stamp from the Snow Much Fun Stamp for a non-theme-related use—very relevant to the topic I’m recording.

Each of the greenery clusters is complimented with a die cut cardstock in a darker shade of brown. There was brown in the pocket cards and the pinecones, which I really wanted to incorporate a bit more of. I’m so glad I used them and am pleased with how this turned out!

Have you added your December kit and add-ons to your cart yet? What are YOU looking forward most to receiving? The Let it Snow Die Cuts and Snow Much Fun Stamp are going to be big hits for those of us who live in parts of the world that get snow, but I hope I’ve inspired you to look at the kit as useful for more than just snow and Christmas.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Hello Winter with Junell Kruzel

Hello everyone! It’s Junell on the blog today and I’m sharing my latest traveler’s notebook spread I created using the December 2022 kit and extras. This wintery color scheme and snowflake die cuts just make me melt!

Supplies | December 2022 Kit, Let It Snow Die Cuts, Twinkle Paper Stack, Monthly Numbers Stamp, Large Photo Strip Metal Die

I started off right away by selecting my background paper. The random stars on the pale green paper from the Twinkle Paper Stack was very reminiscent of snowflakes for me, so that’s what I chose.

I also knew that I really wanted to use the Large Photo Strip Metal Die to house my photos. I only wanted to use the green and blue portions of the paper, so I die cut two strips, cut off the red and pink portion of the paper (since those colors didn’t fit the color scheme), and then placed them end to end so that the entire strip was only green and blue. This way I was able to make the paper work for me and my color scheme!

After placing my photo strip and deciding where my main journaling spot would be, I wanted to use the snowflakes from the Let It Snow Die Cuts to create a visual triangle. I used the largest ones to really make an impact and get your eye moving around the page. I just love these die cuts! I need several packs!

I layered on a couple more phrases from the pack to add interest.

One of the die cuts is a mini frame, so I used that to add another photo and then layered it over my journaling tag from the December 2022 Kit. I used a pencil to mark off where it would be placed and then ran the tag through my typewriter for the journaling and then attached it with adhesive. I added the date using the Monthly Numbers Stamp and used another die cut for the title on top of the tag and my layout was complete!

This is really one of my favorite layouts and it’s all because of the beautiful Elle’s Studio products! I hope you get a chance to document some wintery, frosty moments this holiday season! Happy creating!

Document December 2022 Inspiration: Week 02

Happy Monday, everyone! We hope that you had a great start to your Document December album, and we can’t wait to see what you’ve been making! Today, we’re excited to share fresh, new inspiration from our design team created with the Document December 2022 kit and add-ons!

Marsha Farris

We love seeing Marsha’s beautiful tree in her album, and we just love the interactive tags that she created on the left side of her spread using tags from the Document December 2022 Kit, Twinkle Paper Stack and the Christmas Phrases Stamp. What a fun way to document this holiday tradition!

Kat Benjamin

Do you have holiday food traditions? We love how Kat documented a hot chocolate bomb-making session with her daughter on this spread. What a great idea to match her full-page photo with a page of small pockets to hold more photos, and she filled them with bits and pieces from the Document December 2022 Kit, Twinkle Paper Stack and add-ons like the Tiny Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers and Dark Green Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers.

Michelle Flynn

Don’t forget to snap photos while you get ready for your holiday parties! Michelle & her husband got dressed up for a night out, and we love that she documented the prep for the evening with her daughter. Along with the Document December 2022 Kit, Michelle used the Tis the Season Chipboard Stickers and Attacher Metal Die to create her fun page and tag flip.

Suzanna Lee

Suzanna looks like she is having so much fun recording her December memories! We love her first spread where she used the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp to create her title. On the following spread, she created an interactive pocket and tags in a teacup to document the simple joys of the season using the Christmas Die Cut Tags. How awesome!

Wei Wei Wang

Wei Wei always “wows!” us with her use of stamps, and this layout really shows off how you can customize your album with our Document December stamps! We especially love the sweet tree that Wei Wei stamped using phrases and icons from the Christmas Phrases Stamp. What a great idea, and one that we will definitely be lifting for our albums!

Melissa Mann

Melissa’s beautiful large format photo was matched on the right with the sweetest accordion mini album, created with a tag from our December 2022 Kit. She simply used the Attacher Metal Die and paper from the Twinkle Paper Stack to include this feature in her album.

Sarah Kee

Sarah is already feeling the Christmas spirit and has been going on holiday adventures! We love this pretty spread that she created using our Document December 2022 kit and add-ons! One of our favorite products that Sarah used is the December Grid Stamp, which you can customize with an array of different stamps, and we love how Sarah used our Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp to add little trees to the grid!

Junell Kruzel

Wow! Junell got uber-creative here with our Christmas Die Cut Tags and paper from the Twinkle Paper Stack! Her clever, geometric design really pops on this spread. Also take a look at her gift tags! We spy the Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die at work here! So cool!

Jennifer McMurtrey

Jennifer’s tree is up, and she has a new spread in her album to document it, as well as her classroom tree. We love how Jennifer hung an embellishment grouping on baker’s twine at the top of the page using the Red Foil Vellum Numbers and a Christmas Die Cut Tag, plus stamped the “simple joys” tab using the Christmas Tabs Vol. 2 Stamp.

Diane Dziuban

Last, but certainly not least, Diane is recording her favorite Christmas music on our Christmas Die Cut Tags inside of a vellum pocket, stitched on a page created with the Twinkle Paper Stack. We also love the pretty shine she added here with the Matte Gold Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers. What a pretty page!

We hope you loved today’s post, and we want to be inspired by YOU! Share your Document December pages with us on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag and on the discussion board of our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group! We can’t wait to see the merry memories you’re documenting!
