Happy, Happy Day with Marsha Farris

Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Marsha here, sharing a fun traveler’s notebook layout. I used the December kit and add-ons to create this spread, documenting my son’s thirteenth birthday.

To begin the layout, I trimmed white cardstock to use as the background. I selected a patterned paper from the The Best Paper Stack and used the Large Photo Strip Metal Die to cut it out. Tags from the December Kit were great for backing two sections of the photo strip. I then created the title by stamping the word “happy” two times using the In The Mail Stamp and navy ink and completed it with White and Navy Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers.

For the center square of the photo strip, I used the Hazel Alphabet Stamp and navy ink to stamp the numbers one and three onto gray cardstock from the Warm Solids Paper Stack. Next, I adhered two Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts over the stamped numbers and trimmed them out, leaving a gray border around the edges. I love how this banner element turned out! I completed the bottom square of the photo strip by stamping words from the In The Mail Stamp and Snow Much Fun stamps onto each label.

I created a simple tag by printing my journaling on white cardstock, adding a strip of patterned paper to the top, and trimming it into a tag shape. Because I did not adhere the top portion of the photo strip to the page, I was able to slip the tag under the strip. This also added interest and color to the top of the page.

For the right side of the layout, I added a strip of trimmed patterned paper from the The Best Paper Stack to the edge. Then, I backed my photo with a piece of patterned paper from the same paper stack. I embellished the page with the Let it Snow and December Kit die cuts. A bit of stamping with the Let it Snow and In The Mail stamps and a few stars from the Christmas Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers were perfect to complete the layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope I have given you some ideas for using the December kit and add-ons! Happy crafting!
