A December “Real Life” Layout with Suzanna Lee

Hello there Elle’s Studio fans! Suzanna here today to share with you a non-snowy, non-Christmas layout created with the December kit and add-ons. I feel like this time of year we are inundated with all things Christmas and it’s lovely sometimes to just “be”.

Here’s my layout:

Supplies | December 2022 KitDecember 2022 Printables, December 2022 Print and Cut Labels, December 2022 Labels, Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts, Matte Silver Heart and Star Cardstock Stickers, Twinkle Paper Stack, Snow Much Fun Stamp

This layout is block-based with a slight skew to the top of the page. When you’re using pocket tags, it’s natural to gravitate toward that grid or block. Elements such as the fussy cut greenery or the hanging banners help soften that grid and break it up. There is a mix of both December Kit and December 2022 Printables included.

The Stencil Number Banner Die Cuts are perfect here at the top of the grid, each number slightly askew, to represent the year. They are backed with cardstock from the Twinkle Paper Stack in the darker green, in-keeping with the monochromatic color scheme I have established.

The photos were converted to black and white in order to work with the color palette. The colors in the photo themselves were non-complimentary and the emotion of the photos here is more the emphasis which the black and white highlights. Note how I used the “Prepared/Unprepared” stamp from the Snow Much Fun Stamp for a non-theme-related use—very relevant to the topic I’m recording.

Each of the greenery clusters is complimented with a die cut cardstock in a darker shade of brown. There was brown in the pocket cards and the pinecones, which I really wanted to incorporate a bit more of. I’m so glad I used them and am pleased with how this turned out!

Have you added your December kit and add-ons to your cart yet? What are YOU looking forward most to receiving? The Let it Snow Die Cuts and Snow Much Fun Stamp are going to be big hits for those of us who live in parts of the world that get snow, but I hope I’ve inspired you to look at the kit as useful for more than just snow and Christmas.

Thanks for stopping in today!
