Our Black Friday weekend sale has started!

Our biggest sale, ever, has started! We are making room for our incoming new collections, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to stock up and save… or shop for Christmas presents, too! Here’s all the details about everything going on this weekend:

30% – 70% OFF OVER 70 ITEMS!

Click here to go to our special sale page that has over 70 items on sale! Sale prices are already marked and no coupon code is needed! Some of these items are retiring, too, so once they are sold out, we will not be restocking!

GRAB BAGS!

We’ve put together FOUR different kinds of grab bags for this weekend sale and all grab bags include items from our old AND new collections! Our scrapbook grab bag includes papers, tags, and stamps and has a retail value of over $50 –  you can get it for $15 this weekend! Then we have a journaling tag grab bag that includes 30 tags in 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 inch sizes for $3.99. Our stamp grab bag has a retail value of over $35 and this weekend you can get it for $15. Last but not least, our 12 x 12 paper grab bag – 25 sheets of paper for $6!

Here’s a sneak peek inside the journaling tag grab bag and our scrapbook grab bag:

We’ve worked hard to insure that there are no duplicates in each bag, however, if you purchase more than one bag you may receive duplicate items in the multiple bags. The only exception to this is our 12 x 12 paper grab bag may include -at the most- two sheets of some paper designs, because they are double sided and you may need a sheet of each.

FREE GIFT!

Every order this weekend will receive a free gift with their order! Our free gifts have a retail value of $1.50 – $9.99 and they are on top of our fun holiday gift tags that already come free with your November/December purchase!

SHIPPING:

Our shipping is based on the weight of your box and we only charge what it costs us to ship your items. Our grab bags and 12 x 12 paper bags are heavy, so most USA orders will have to ship via Priority Mail. Our site will quote you a shipping price before checkout.

Due to an increase in orders during this sale, please allow us extra processing time. We will be shipping orders in the order that they are received. We will do our best to keep you updated through our facebook page.

Thank you so much for stopping by and we hope you find lots of goodies for a great deal this weekend!

So thankful for you!

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays, it’s so fun being surrounded by family, making and eating tons of delicious food and desserts, sharing memories and taking the time to stop and reflect on what and who we are most thankful for.

On this special day, we wanted YOU to know that each one of you guys are at the top of our “thankful for” list! We are so thankful for all your support, comments, emails, throughout the year, it means so much to us! You guys make it possible for us to do this and for that, we will be forever grateful for YOU!

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!

thanksgiving cards

Happy day before Thanksgiving everyone! For today’s post I gathered all the Thanksgivin-ish cards and tags from Elle’s Studio November 2013 kit and created a few things…
First up, for this “Gobble Gobble” card I created a fall wreath with brown twine, leafs and a tag.

I then played around with some simple (and kid friendly!) decorations for the big day.

This table setting was quick and easy. I cut some burlap squares, wrapped them around the utensils, tied with orange ribbon then tucked in the ‘yummy’ tag.

This little pumpkin will serve as a place card.
And finally for another quick table decor… I filled a mason jar with candy corn and decorated with leafs, berries and another tag.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend with friends and family!!

Project Life

This week we are sharing a page in Contributing Team Member, Melissa Mann’s, Project Life album!

Melissa used a variety of Elle’s Studio products for her Project Life spread, let’s take a look!
One thing I love about this spread is the variety of colors in her photos and use of Elle’s Studio products.   The variety of color pulls the spread together beautifully.
The stitched ampersand vellum (from our October kit) is a great focal point on the spread!  I love that she added detail by stitching it.  One thing I noticed about her spread was how she split the photograph on the right page– such a great idea for changing things up a bit.
Thank you Melissa for sharing your layout with us!!!
We want to feature your Project Life album!  During the last week of each month we will be featuring a couple Project Life spreads that caught our eye in the Member Gallery.  We will be posting Project Life spreads on our blog tomorrow!   If your spread is featured we will be sending you a $5 gift card to use in our store.   Good Luck!

Capture Life – 11.25.13

Capture Life – A Countdown to Christmas

I’m not one to typically glaze over Thanksgiving and I don’t want to do that; but I also want to give you guys a jump start on a little something to do this weekend between shopping and pulling out the Christmas decorations.
The 25 days of Christmas is something we started last year and my kids have already been asking what we will be doing each day this December.

Each morning beginning on December 1st, the kids get to check the Countdown board to see what activity we will be doing that evening. The projects are all very simple and as inexpensive as possible. I want to keep the focus on doing something together as a family rather than simply getting a gift each day.

Last years list consisted of: Making Paper Snowflakes, Baking cookies and taking them to a neighbor, enjoying hot cocoa & marshmallows after school, making pipe cleaner candy canes, enjoying a chocolate treat, reading a Christmas story, having a family game night, watching a Christmas movie and eating popcorn, making salt dough ornaments, going sledding, writing letters to Santa, making melting bead ornaments, eating pancakes for supper, making snow flake tortillas, decorating our gingerbread house, making Christmas tags for gifts, making homemade hot cocoa and packaging teacher gifts, making cookies for Santa, driving around and looking at Christmas lights, making popsicle stick snowflakes, wrapping daddy’s Christmas presents, taking a family picture in front of the Christmas tree, making reindeer food, leaving cookies and milk for Santa, and finally opening presents and enjoying cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning!

Now, the most important part :: capturing those moments!

Most of our activities were done in the evening after it was dark out which left us with no natural light to use for all those photos. One trick I love to use is to pop on my external flash and point it straight up which bounces beautifully off of the kitchen ceiling without giving those harsh shadows.

This years calendar was created using the entire Noel collection along with the amazing new Wood Veneers. The Countdown pattern paper paired with my circle punch was the perfect way to countdown the days! The activities will be written on the back for the kids to reveal each day.

Using the Noel – Frames I was able to include a few of last years photos as well.

I hope you take the time to create a simple Countdown calendar like this  and enjoy and capture those little moments of the Holiday season!

Product Spotlight: 2014 Paper Collection – part 1

Today we are excited to spotlight our 2014 paper collection! These papers are perfect for pocket style scrapbooking, mini albums, and even layouts, throughout the year! The mini albums also make great Christmas presents for your loved ones, too. You could either use photos from 2013 and put the album together now, or put it together without the photos and let them add them throughout the year! My mom asks for one of these every year, to sit on her desk.

Here’s a close up of one of the papers in the collection:

When this paper is cut apart, you’ll have 4 x 6 and 3 x 4 inch calendars, along with a fun tag calendar and generic journaling tags that you can use on any type of project! There are also tiny journaling and embellishment tags, too.

We asked our design team to make some projects using the 2014 collection and we have some amazing and inspiring projects to share with you! Here’s what they came up with:

For Suz’s project, she used the 4 x 6 inch calendars and them into cut down page protectors. She says that she’ll use this mini album all year long to keep track of fun events and add photos, receipts/ticket subs, and ephemera to it as the year goes along!

Annette worked with the tags on the page and said: For my calendar project using the 2014 collection from Elle’s Studio, I decided to make a simple tag booklet. I trimmed out the cute kraft tags and bound them with a jump ring. I added some embellishments for fun as well as simple photos on the back that I made look like “Instax inspired” by using a template in PSE and added the photos in right there. Then I just printed them at home, added some handwritten captions and attached them using washi tape. I added a piece of ribbon to finish it off. I love that I can just hang this on my inspiration board or take it with me in my purse. Another fun idea would be to use a shadow box or frame and attach them using clips. Lots of fun ways to use this collection. Have fun with it!”

Stay tuned for next Saturday when we share even more projects using our 2014 paper collection!

Design Team Highlight: Yellow

Hello, weekend!
While browsing through our design team gallery this week, I found a common theme between four layouts that just seemed to jump out at me.  Funny how that happens!  What theme, you ask?  They all highlight the color yellow!
This layout created by Vee uses yellow to embellish one of our wood veneers as well as to draw your eye through the layout with painted accents along the top.
Jen used this yellow patterned paper from our Penelope collection to house this spiderweb die cut on her layout.
Janna used the same patterned paper but in a horizontal strip, to act as a grounding agent for her small scale photo.  It gives your eyes a spot to land on this layout that embraces white space.
Our November guest designer, Summer Fullerton, also used a strip of yellow – this time from our Cameron collection – on this linear layout.  Her sunny strip of patterned paper acts as the perfect container for additional tags and embellishments.
We hope these highlights from our talented design team inspires you to put your Elle’s Studio products to use!
Have a great weekend!

sketch thursday

Today’s sketch is inspired by Corrie’s Road Race Season layout from this month’s DT gallery.

I was inspired by the row of pictures on the sketch but I replaced the frames with tags.

I created an accordion tag book with the silhouette, attached it to the layout, stitched around it and embellished with pictures and tags. I also filled a clear bag with sequins and placed it behind the leaf.

Supplies: November digital cut files, Elle’s Studio November 2013 kit

For a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Shop create a project inspired by today’s sketch, upload it to our Member Gallery and post a link here. A random winner will be selected and announced with next week’s sketch.
