Celebrate December with Melissa Stinson

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  So, make sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog every day for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday– a Christmas Eve edition- with today’s Celebrate December guest, Melissa Stinson.  We know you will love her Project Life layout and will be inspired as you document your December!

Hello, and a very happy Christmas Eve to you all! I’m excited to be Elle’s Celebrate December guest today to share a Project Life layout using the December exclusive tag kit and the Noel collection.

During this busy time of year, I love anything that helps me to get my Project Life layouts completed just a little bit faster! Using just the December kit, a few pieces of Noel paper cut as backgrounds, and the exclusive Christmas wood veneer, I was able to finish this weekly spread in under an hour. Having a pre-coordinated set of products already sized and ready to go is such a timesaver!

Since I also make a Christmas journal every December, I don’t feel any pressure to include tons of seasonal photos in my Project Life layouts. I mostly concentrate on the everyday and add in only a few photos from each holiday event, trying to keep the photos contained to just one pocket. If I want to include more than one picture, I format them into a collage using Lightroom and print them out as a single unit.

I hope that you all have very safe and festive Christmases, and I look forward to seeing how you document them!

Celebrate December : Capture Life

Capture Life – Custom Holiday Tags

If you’re like me your camera has been getting an extra work out on a daily basis this month. I love the bits and pieces of our Holiday celebrations that get captured this time of year.  Whether it’s family & friends or telling “elf” tales I hope you’ve been snapping away.

Today I’m going to show you a way to incorporate a few of those photos into some last minute gift wrapping.
Here are a few of my favorite shots I chose to use:

I resized them to around 2×3 inches and printed them on both white cardstock as well as the vellum from the Noel collection.
I love the way the snowflakes create an extra layer on top of the images.

Along with my photos I used pieces from the December Tag kit, and the free gift tags that came with every shipped order in December!

The key to this type of tag is layering. The base layer was created with a tag from the December Tag kit, a photo printed on the vellum and one of the cute hashtag quotes; also from the December kit.

Layer 2 is simply a vellum photo and a punched snowflake from glitter paper.

Layer 3 is a photo of Santa that was printed on the white cardstock and again a glitter snowflake.

Layer 4 is simply perfect; one of those adorable free gift tags!

I hope you are able to take a sit, make a few beautiful tags, and enjoy every moment of this exciting time of year!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
~Megan

We are thrilled to have Geralyn Sy with us today sharing a beautiful Christmas layout!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited that I get to play along with Elle Studio’s Celebrate December series. Christmas is truly one of my favorite times of the year and I really enjoy everything about the holiday season. For my layout, I decided to document a special photo from last year using the Noel collection.

I am in love with Elle Studio’s limited edition wood veneers! They are so festive and the designs are awesome. I used the cute tree veneer on my layout to match the Christmas trees in my photograph. The snowflake stamp from the Cheers stamp set was stamped with gold ink.

I had so much fun using the Noel collection for this layout. There are so many great bits and pieces to use for all your holiday scrapping!

Celebrate December with Becky Novacek

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  So, make sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog every day for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Hi Everyone!  It’s Becky Novacek posting today and I’m so excited to be a part of Elle’s Studio Celebrate December!

The layout I made is quite simple but I had a few little details I wanted to experiment with and I think they worked well!

Here’s the layout:

Isn’t the wood beeper cut-out tree awesome?  I love the way the dot paper looks backing it.  The red dot fits perfectly into the star space!
One of the things that I was visualizing for this was a little die-cut sentiment with vintage book paper backing the sentiment.  I used my Silhouette machine to cut the sentiment and used the font “Bebas Neue”.  I really like how the black background paper works as a contrast to the vintage book page.

I also knew I wanted to make a little imperfect vintage banner across the bottom.   I handout imperfect triangles and machines stitched them.

I hope you are documenting all of your holiday happenings and savoring eery minute of this magical season!

Today we are giving away a set of each of our Wood Veneers!  Leave a comment on this post for your chance to win!

Celebrate December with Stephanie Baxter

Today we are welcoming Stephanie Baxter– she has a gorgeous holiday layout to inspire us today!

First of all, I want to say a big “Merry Christmas” to all of you lovely Elle’s Studio blog readers. I hope this holiday season is filled with love, joy, peace and all the good things this wonderful holiday brings.

I most certainly have been getting into the festive spirit recently and, while I haven’t actually done anything majorly proactive in preparation for the forthcoming celebrations, I have been starting to get ready in my own special way…by pinning lots and lots of Christmassy images to my Christmas Pinterest board! This is my go-to place for a bit of seasonal inspiration and I love gathering ideas for craft projects, decorating ideas and recipes. To celebrate my love for my Pinterest board, I decided to create a layout to document some of my favourite things I’ve pinned to it recently.

As soon as I saw the chalkboard paper from the Noel collection, I new I wanted to use it as my background. When planning the page in my head, I imagined a mood board of sorts with images tacked up on a chalkboard. I adhered my photos from my Pinterest board in a loose grid on the chalkboard paper to follow the idea that I had pictured in my planning stage. I was so happy with the result…it was exactly what I had in mind!

From there, I worked on my title. I stamped ‘Merry Christmas’ with watermark ink, blocking off half of the phrase each time so that I could position the words apart from each other in the title. I embossed the title with white embossing powder and, although it turned out a little messy (this was my very first time doing heat embossing!!), I actually quite like the effect on this page as it sort of looks a bit like snow! (Or that’s what I keep telling myself to make myself feel better!) After that, it was just a case of picking my favourite tags and veneer pieces to embellish the page to make it pretty.

Celebrate December | December Kit Highlights

Have you purchased our December kit yet?  Yes?  Then you already know the amazing tags that are included are perfect for your December Daily style albums as well as other holiday related projects.  If you haven’t, act fast!  They’re disappearing from our warehouse shelves quickly and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
I thought I’d share with you some of the amazing projects created with the kit not only by our amazing design team but by our fantastic contributing team as well.  Endless inspiration!
Contributing team member Daniela Dobson paired several of the tags from the December kit as well as a diecut and one of our popular wood veneer shapes for this layout.
I love the balance that design team member Corrie Jones seems to have effortlessly created with a handful of tags from the December kit and a miniature photo.
I absolutely LOVE how Angie Gutshall from the Contributing Team paired stars of various sizes from our December cut files with layers of tags from the December kit.
DT member Vee Jennings chose a neutral background to highlight her photo and tags from this month’s kit.
Contributing Team member Jennifer Chapin used her December kit to get ahead in her December Daily album by laying out pages in advance.  I think it’s so fun to see how people arrange their albums!
Looking for maximum impact on your next layout?  Contributing team member Melissa Mann created a border of tags from her kit and stitched them to the bottom of her photo.  Perfect!
We hope this inspires you to get your kit out and put it to work!

Celebrate December with Lisa Dickinson

Welcome to Celebrate December at Elle’s Studio!  The month of December will be packed with holiday inspiration, projects, layouts, and gift ideas from many talented designers.  So, make sure to check the Elle’s Studio blog every day for prizes, giveaways, and inspiration!

Today we have Lisa Dickinson here with us to share a gorgeous layout!

All the wonderful papers, tags and embellishments in the Noel line made it hard to choose which ones to use on my layout. So I decided to incorporate as many as the fun products as I could! I began by cutting a bold outlined title and backing it with the green “Carols” paper. I chose the dotted kraft “Deck the Halls” and chalkboard “Fa La La La” papers to create a neutral background, dividing the page into two halves.

On the lower half, I arranged a circle border with 10 punched shapes and began layering them with an assortment of Elle’s Studio supplies. I used several of the clear stamps to add sentiments, and I fussy cut portions of several tags to add small shapes and banners for interest.

The Limited Edition wood veneers are a great way to add dimension and texture to my border. I kept mine natural, but these pieces are easily colored with ink or markers, too!

All the cute, coordinating products from Elle’s Studio make it so easy (and fun!) to create a festive and whimsical page! I’ll definitely be pulling them out again to scrap the holiday season!

Lisa has kindly provided the cut file she used in her layout! The preview of the file is above and you can download it here, for free!
We are also giving away a set of our limited edition Wood Veneers!  Leave a comment on this post for your chance to win!
