Product Spotlight : Good Times Stamps

Today’s spotlight is on the Good Times stamps
This stamp set is an extension of the 2014 Paper collection that was released at Summer CHA & works perfectly for anything from layouts, Project Life, cards, or tags.
Below you’ll notice I used the “this week:” stamp to highlight the week I am covering in my layout. It fits perfectly on the 4×6 calendar pieces in the 2014 collection!

This layout was honestly a lot of fun to create. Every once in a while I think it’s important to focus on your journaling and to create a photo-free layout.

The stamps are great to use as prompts to your journaling or simply as embellishments throughout your design.

I also used the stamp set on one of my Project Life pages.

Another little bonus in this set is that the heart & the star were created to perfectly fit over the calendar numbers. A great way to highlight the date you’re capturing!

The 1, 2, 3 stamps are great for creating lists or to highlight goals like I did here.

And of course the 2014 stamp is one that will be used over and over again!

Design Team Highlight: Single Photo Layouts

Happy Friday, ES fans!

I love going through the design team gallery to find a common theme or common products used and how each team member has put their own spin on it.  Today we’re highlighting single photo layouts.  Check out the amazing projects from our talented team.

I love how Becki used the chevron paper from our Penelope collection to draw your eye to her adorable photo on this layout.
Valerie intermixed a row of tags and embellishments with her photo to create movement through the center of her layout.
To ground her photo on a solid white background of this layout, Waisam created borders of paper and embellishments along the top and bottom margins.
Juliana layered tags around the border of her single photo to keep the focus of her layout on these two adorable girls.
Don’t forget to leave our designers some love in the gallery if you enjoyed their projects.

Sketch Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! Today’s sketch was inspired by Patricia’s Be You layout from the Design Team gallery.

To celebrate the launch of our new collections in the shop today I created this layout using Love You More.  I loooove all the different colors and patterns in this collection, so I created a fun background to include several of them in one page.

I like how Valerie included lots of tags around the pictures so I somehow (in a much more simplistic way) did that in my layout as well 🙂

The BIG day has arrived – our new collections are now in stock!

Our new releases are now in stock in our shop – they also have started shipping to scrapbooking stores last week, so if they haven’t arrived at your favorite store, they should be soon!

This release includes our new Love You More and Everyday Moments collection, along with new wood veneers and four different colors of alphabet stickers! (Please note: we are running low on the wood veneers, if they do sell out, look for another restock in February). With this release, our Bits & Pieces packs have increased in size and now include tabs, frames, tiny tags, etc. Each pack includes 31 tags and work perfectly for your layouts, mini albums, Project Life, and more!

To celebrate this launch, we have a very special, shipping special for you!

Orders of $50 or more, that ship to a USA address, will receive free shipping with the coupon code: 50freeship. For our Canada/International friends, your order of $75 or more ships free with coupon code: 75freeship. This coupon expires Monday, January 27th, so don’t delay! This would be a great time to stock up on the 12 x 12 paper, since it is a bit on the heavy side 😉

We also have some fun inspiration to share with you today! Jenni made this Project Life spread with our Everyday Moments collection:

And, Megan put together this fun layout with our Love You More collection:

Project Life

Today I am sharing December 16- December 22 in my 2013 Project Life album.
I am the first to admit that I love starting fresh in a new album, but I am equally inspired to finish strong.  If you are anything like me, the month of December flew by, and a few weeks were left unfinished.  Here are a few simple tips to finish 2013 strong!

1.  Minimal embellishments.   I really stuck with the basics in this spread… I kept it simple which, for me, means less time is involved.   I used journaling cards from the Noel Collection to keep the spread coordinated and holiday themed.

2.  Write directly on the photos.   You can save a lot of time (and products!) by journaling directly on the photos.  I use the American Crafts slick writer to write on my photo (there is minimal smearing on the photo surface with this pen).

3.  Back Pack Diving!   I love to dig through school papers to find art work or other special items.  For this week I included a snowman drawing and a gift tag from Jordan’s teacher.  These items are perfect for the 3×4 pockets.

4.  Photos.  Often when I am trying to “catch up” in my album I will use a photo to completely fill the 3×4 pocket.  In this spread I trimmed photos of both of my children and included it in the 3×4 spot.  A simple and quick way to fill these pockets.

I hope these tips inspire you to finish strong with your 2013 Project Life!

Project Life was created by Becky Higgins as a way to simplify how you document life and preserve memories. Photo pockets used in my Project Life album are created by Becky and can be found here.  You can read of all the Elle’s Studio Project Life posts here.

Our Monthly kit + Your Stash

Hello there! We’re back with another edition of Our kit + Your stash, where we show you how well Elle’s Studio Monthly kits mix with the stash you already have at home.

With so many new product releases this month, I figured it’s only fitting to use my brand new stash combined with January’s kit
The frame in the January kit immediately got my attention so I started with that. I then selected coordinating papers from the Everyday Moments Collection, the fabulous new stampa few other tags, wood veneer stars and sequins, of course!

Then end result? A fun and festive layout about celebrating the new year. I hope this inspires you to pull out your stash (new or old) and create.

Have a wonderful week!

Design Team Highlight: January 2014 Kit, Vol. 2

Happy Friday, ES fans!

I love going through the design team gallery to find a common theme or common products used and how each team member has put their own spin on it.  Today, when looking through our designers projects, I kept seeing the same tag used repeatedly from our January 2014 kit.  A lovely speech bubble tag that says, “I Simply Love You.”

Check out how these talented women put it to use!

Can you spy the “I Simply Love You” tag in this Project Life spread from Waisam.  I love how she paired pieces from our Noel collection with the January kit for this layout.
This card from Yuki is just too cute!  Wouldn’t it make a great Valentine?  ACK!  Can’t believe Valentine’s Day is less than a month away!
I really like how Patricia layered all of her tags and embellishments, including the tag from our January kit, into a column highlighting her photo on this layout.
Kudos to Elle for designing such versatile products that can be used in so many ways!  Don’t forget to leave our designers some love in the gallery if you enjoyed their projects.

Sketch Thursday

Welcome back! Today we have a fun, layered sketch inspired by Valerie’s You’ll Always Have my Heart layout from this month’s DT gallery.

Design Team members Jenny and Becki stepped up this week and created these beauties:

This is such a fabulous sketch! It was so easy to follow, but also left room for your own personal touches. Jenny

When I need a little inspiration I always turn to a sketch. I loved the sketch because it was simply a line across the page. I also added a line from the top left to the bottom using a few drops of spray ink to create some movement across the page. Becki
