A 9 x 12 inch layout with Special Guest Tracy

Let’s give a warm welcome to our second guest designer for the month of April, Tracy XO, whose clean, graphic designs always have us looking twice! Let’s see what she created with the Little Moments collection:

Hey there! I’m Tracy and I’m excited to be guest designing this month for Elle’s Studio! Today I’ll be showing you a 9” x 12” traditional scrapbook layout I made using the Little Moments collection.

EllesStudio-GuestTracy-02
Because it’s just me and my dog, Sophie, all of my layouts are about the two of us. Only natural, right? If I had kids, I’d always be scrapbooking about them! I went with this photo my friend took of Sophie and I in the park and based my colour scheme around that.

EllesStudio-GuestTracy-01
I cut a 12” x 12” sheet of the Details patterned paper from the Little Moments 12” x 12” paper collection down to 9” x 12” (this is my go-to size for layouts.) After that, I cut a piece of white patterned paper down to layer on top of the Details leaf paper. I like layering everything first, and then when I’m happy with the placement I go back and glue all the bits down.

I absolutely loved the die cuts in the Little Moments bits and pieces, so I ended up using mostly those to embellish the layout. I stamped out the title using the Jonah alphabet stamp and grey ink. The first “O” in “woods” is actually the “Q” upside down! I love how the colors all flow together! I ended up using the “photo notes” stamp from the Little Moments stamp and white Today acrylic, an exclusive for April, to finish off the page. I’m so happy with how it turned out! Stay tuned! In a few weeks I’ll be back to share a pocket page spread that I made using the April exclusive kit!

EllesStudio-GuestTracyMy name is Tracy! I live in Vancouver, BC with my adorable little pup, Sophie. During the day I work as an administrative assistant, but by night, I’m a crafter. I’ve been scrapbooking for the last four years and I really enjoy it. When I’m not crafting, I’m probably drinking coffee and listening to music (or binge watching How I Met Your Mother on Netflix). My two favourite places in the world are New York City and Disneyland. I started the Single Girl’s Scrapbook to show that even if you aren’t married or don’t have kids, you can document your life. All moments are special ones!

Little Moments with Michelle Wedertz

EllesStudio-MichelleWedertz-Daffodil1
Hey everyone, Michelle here! The Little Moments collection is so incredibly pretty and I was super excited to get to work with it for today’s project! My favorite part of this collection is the beautiful floral pattern that can be found throughout the line.

EllesStudio-MichelleWedertz-Daffodil2
What makes me really love it is that that it is full of color and can compliment a variety of photos including this one of my daughter standing by our first daffodil of the season. When choosing a colorful patterned paper to feature on a layout, I always like to pair it with a neutral and the black and white patterns were the perfect match!

EllesStudio-MichelleWedertz-Daffodil3Supplies: Little Moments 6×6 Paper Pack, Bits & Pieces, and Stamp; Letter & Numbers Stickers Light Pink; Good Stuff Puffy Stickers: and Noteworthy Stamp.

We would love to see how you are using the Little Moments collection! Make sure you share your projects with us in our Member Gallery or on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Stamping with Jill Sprott

Each month, Elle’s Studio releases a stamp set to accompany its monthly kits. These sets are perfectly timed with the season, but they are also versatile, with images and sentiments that can work with practically any kind of layout. When I set eyes on the April “Perfect Weekend” stamp set and its two circular “yes” and “no” stamps, a journaling idea came to mind right away. I imagined a list of questions or items, each of which could be followed by a “yes” or “no” answer. This layout is the result:

Cousins-ES-LO-Jill-blogSupplies:  Elle’s Studio April 2016 kit; Perfect Weekend Stamp Set; Travelogue Journaling Tags; Little Moments Jonah Alphabet Stamp; Little Moments Bits and Pieces; Little Moments 12 x 12 Paper Collection; Little Moments Journaling Tags; Letter and Number Stickers — Teal

For a while, I’ve been meaning to create a layout centered around this photo, a copy of a Polaroid taken in the early 80’s. I didn’t quite know how to approach it — that is, until I held the April stamp set in my hands.

I began by taking my color cues from the photo and the pie chart tags from the Elle’s Studio Travelogue journaling tags set. After painting the background of the page with a mix of yellow and emerald paint, and assembling the photo and a mix of tags and accents at the top of the page, I drew a grid and added a series of descriptions corresponding to the subjects in the photo.

After writing on the page, I focused on the stamping, first adding initials to each of the columns to match the person just above in the photo, and then filling in a “yes” or “no” answer in each row based on whether the person in the photo fit the description.

Hey There Card by Daniela Dobson

Welcome to the Elle’s Studio blog post today. It’s Daniela here sharing a card using our new April 2016 Kit.

Looking at all my supplies I realized that I have these shades of blue and gray left over from my kit. I found a matching color of patterned paper from the Little Moments 12 x 12 Paper Collection.
Hey-there-by-Daniela-DobsonProducts used: Elle’s Studio April 2016 Kit, Little Moments Word Labels, Little Moments 12 x 12 Paper Collection, Good Stuff Puffy Stickers, and Little Moments Stamp

I layered two journaling tags over the patterned paper base. I cut out a square with hearts from Little Moments Word Labels and layered it over a tag from the kit. I added puffy hearts from Good Stuff Puffy Stickers and two pieces of washi tape from my stash.

I stamped “hello” from Little Moments stamp set and added twine to the tag. I outlined all the paper edges with a black pen.

Project Life with Kay Rogers

Today Kay is sharing a spread from her Project Life album using a mix of our new products to capture and document the fun details.

EllesStudio-ProjectLife-KayRogers01
To start off on the left side, she used a tag from our Travelogue Journaling Tags, and to record the date she used our Letter & Number stickers in yellow and black, then embellished with our Good Stuff Puffy Stickers. For the rest of the 4 x 6 inch pockets, she added photos of their adventures.

The middle 3 x 4 inch pockets were filled with our Travelogue Journaling Tags, paper from our 12 x 12 Little Moments paper collection, and also embellished with the Good Stuff Puffy Stickers.

EllesStudio-ProjectLife-KayRogers02
For the right side she used the same format, filling in the middle section with tags from our April kit, too – what a fun way to capture all these special memories!

In Your Planner with Special Guest Anabelle O’Malley

Today we are excited to welcome Anabelle O’Malley to the Elle’s Studio blog as our first April guest designer! We love how Anabelle incorporated the April exclusive kit into her planner spread to create a colorful, fun week of lists and memory-keeping! Let’s take a look:

Hi. It’s Anabelle and I am so happy to be here with you on the Elle’s Studio blog! Today, I am sharing a planner spread that I created using the April exclusive kit. There were so many elements from the kit that worked perfectly for my week, which just happened to be our spring break week in Nags Head in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Since I didn’t have a lot of work or personal commitments, I was able to use the second part of the week to collect memories.  Here is a view of the full spread:

EllesStudio-AnabelleOMalley-01
I loved using the small tags from the kit to add spaces for writing and highlight some of my favorite events from the week.

One thing that I like to do in my planner is to create a master to-do list. I picked a 4” x 6” journaling card from the kit, trimmed it down a bit, and hole punched the edge to match my planner binder clips, allowing me to flip it to use both sides. Then I simply adhered the ‘to-do’ list 3” x 4” tag to the striped tag and added a puffy ‘today’ sticker from the Good Stuff puffy stickers to the top. Easy and functional!

I also love making clips that coordinate with my spreads. To make this one, I punched a circle of paper and adhered a gold clip to the ‘real life’ puffy sticker using hot glue. The paper covers the glue and finishes it off nicely.

EllesStudio-AnabelleOMalley-04
This month’s exclusive Perfect Weekend stamp set is so fun! The ‘perfect weekend’ stamp was just what I needed to add to this week’s spread. I also used puffy sticker stars to add a decorative touch. The ‘Dreaming of Sunshine’ card was added so I could jot more notes on the back and to serve as a reminder of how much I love the beach.

EllesStudio-AnabelleOMalley-05
Finally, I like to layer in other pretty items to make my page look bright and fun. It makes me happy to open up a planner that is appealing and this makes writing my ‘to do’ lists so much easier! I used a small page protector that has four 2” x 2” pockets to add some more of the smaller tags and embellishments. Sometimes, I even put in small family photos. The ‘love this place’ wood veneer from the April wood veneer labels is exactly how I feel about the Outer Banks.

Hi! I’m Anabelle O’Malley!  I live in Delaware with my husband and our thirteen year old son, Ryan along with our orange tabby, Pulu. I work at the University of Delaware at the laboratory preschool teaching pre- kindergarten and kindergarten children, as well as the university students.

I’ve been paper crafting for the past ten years and have loved every minute of it. It truly is my creative outlet. The best part has been working with and meeting so many wonderful people who are as passionate about paper crafting as I am. As a child, I would spend hours drawing and making cards for people, so this is just a natural extension of my love for all things paper. Along with creating layouts, I still love card making and trying out new techniques. My creations contain lots of texture and details, layering and clustering. Most recently, I have jumped head first into the planner craze. I love having a beautifully decorated planner! It makes working on my to do lists much easier. I also am enjoying documenting my memories in a traveler’s notebook.

When I’m not teaching or scrapping, I can be found enjoying time with friends and family, cooking, reading, hitting the gym or spending too much time online. I’m so excited to be Guest Designing for Elle’s Studio this month. Thanks for the opportunity to work with such fun products!

You can find more of Anabelle’s work at her blog, Bits and Pieces, or her Instagram feed. Watch out for another post featuring her beautiful work later this month!

Here We Go by Meghann Andrew

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Adventure02
Hello there, Elle’s Studio fans! Meghann here and today I wanted to share a fun layout recording a road trip I took with a friend in the fall. I was just waiting for the perfect product to scrap this photo, and the Travelogue items certainly made the cut!

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Adventure01Products used: Travelogue journaling tags, Travelogue labels“adventure” wood veneer, Travelogue stamp settab die, Little Moments 12″ x 12″ paper collection, Little Moments 6″ x 6″ paper stackacrylic stars- spring mix.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Adventure04
I had so much fun creating this layout! I rarely ever stamp on my photos, but the “here we go” stamp was perfect for this photo at the start of a road trip to New Orleans. I created the tab by stamping the shape in yellow, cutting it out with the tab die and stamping the tiny star 5 times at the top. On the “adventure” wood veneer, I simply backed it with a piece of yellow patterned paper from the Little Moments 6″ x 6″ paper stack.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Adventure03
The “live, travel” tag was cut down from a Travelogue journaling tags and punched on the side, to resemble a ticket edge. I used a bit that I cut off below my journaling to stamp “notes from this day,” and placed it underneath my journaling. I framed it at the top with a Little Moments blank label, which I stamped “details please” from the Travelogue stamp set. A few travel-themed chipboard pieces from my stash coordinated perfectly with the Travelogue items to finish off my layout!

Be sure to stop by the Elle’s Studio shop and check out all the new items, so that you can get your road trips and travels documented!
