September Kit Preview with Melissa Mann

Hello, everyone! This is Melissa with you today with a preview project for all the goodies that will be available tomorrow in the shop. Trust me when I say that you NEED a pack, at least, of the Halloween Die Cuts!

I put together a little mini book using library card pockets and the September 2022 kit and add-ons! I found an old library card envelope and carefully unglued it to create a template for my envelopes. I used various patterned papers from the Good Times and Thankful Paper Stack to create my four envelopes. 

I used a variety of different die sets to create the tags and “stuffing” for each envelope. After I die cut these, I used the 3 x 4-inch journaling tags from the September 2022 Kit to layer on top of various tags. The die cuts in the September 2022 Kit and the separate packet of Halloween Die Cuts really came in handy while putting the pockets together.

The Halloween Tabs Stamp was a super fun detail to stamp throughout my album. I tend to love these sort of stamp sets because they are perfect to stamp repeating patterns on your projects!

Embracing a Season of Change with Jennifer McMurtrey

Hello, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Jennifer McMurtrey here! We are back to school in my hometown, which means it’s time for those obligatory first day of school photos that we all love. This year was a bit different because it is the first one with all of the kids out of the house, which I am becoming more used to with each day that passes.

For this project, I wanted to use the August digital products to compliment what I have left of the August 2022 Kit along with a few items from my stash. It was a fun layout to create and I can’t wait to show you!

Supplies | August 2022 Kit, August 2022 Cut Files, August 2022 Printables, Notebook Die Cut Shapes,  Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Teal, Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers – Cool, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers – Warm, The Best Paper Stack, Thankful Paper Stack, School Tabs Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp

To begin, I used the August 2022 Cut Files to create a stencil. To do this, I simply enlarged the tag with stars file and cut it out using a scrap of white cardstock. Next, I used Distress Oxide Inks and brushes to add green and blue stars to the background. Once complete, I spritzed water on the cardstock and blotted it with paper towels. Last, I splattered a coral color over everything to match the papers I chose to use.

Continuing with the background, I used three 3 x 4-inch journaling tags and cut them into ½-inch strips. After cutting the strips, I used the School Tabs Stamp to add “teacher” to each one in colors matching the papers before adhering them to the background. To give even more detail, I cut white stars and glued them on top of the strips of paper.

After matting my photo with papers from The Best and , Thankful paper stacks, I adhered it atop the strips of papers and stars. Next, I used the School and Daily Tabs Stamp to add sentiments to a few stars from the Notebook Die Cut Shapes.

For my journaling, I again turned to Elle’s digital products by using the August 2022 Printables. The coral journaling tag fit my color scheme perfectly and made documenting my story super easy. Next, I added the title above and below the photo with the Teal Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers and Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, also in teal.

To complete the layout, I used the Cool and Warm Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers to add a bit more color and create a visual triangle to lead you through the project.

Lately, I have shared with friends the fact that I have been in a serious creative rut for several months, However, I believe today’s project may have given my mojo a bit of a kickstart! #EllesStudio Spottings on Instagram

Hello, friends! We hope you had a nice, restful weekend! We had some time to scroll through the #EllesStudio hashtag on Instagram, and WOW! Did we find some awesome projects! Today we’re here to share six that caught our eye!

On the left, Cassie (@cassiewiscarson) shared this beautiful and energetic layout about her outdoor adventures using the July 2022 Kit that we just love! That grid design is so fantastic! On the right, Marci (@coffee_scrap_travel) got out her stamps and Currently Icon Journaling Tags and got to work to create a fantastic pocket page spread! Keep stamping, Marci!

One of the things our customers like best about our products are the beautiful rainbow of hues available, and both of these projects took full advantage of this! On the left, Heather (@magical_paper_scraps) created her rainbow page using our puffy stickers and a die cut from a past monthly kit! On the right, Raechelle (@raebellus) created a colorful wheel accented with our puffy stickers, too! We love both of these projects so much!

There are so many things that you can do with metal dies, and Nicole (@nicolemartel1978) shows us one perfect way here using mixed media and our Knockout Words Metal Die, now on SALE! We just love the contrast and pretty colors on her page! On the right, Wende (@wendescraps) is reliving past Disney memories with our new Magical Memories collection! What an amazing page to document the fun, Wende!

Use Your Scraps with Nathalie Leonelli

Hello, Elle’s Studio friends! It’s Nathalie here today to share a new project and show you how I stretch my kit! After creating a full pocket page, two cards, and a mini reading journal, I still had enough in my August 2022 kit and add-ons to create this 12 x 12-inch page celebrating the end of summer at the beach.

Supplies | August 2022 Kit, Fuschia Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Coral, Summer Cardstock Stickers, Cool Puffy Heart and Star Stickers, Good Times Paper Stack

Here are some tips to make the most of your kit leftovers:

1. Adapt the tags you have left by covering parts of them if the wording (or colors) doesn’t match what you are documenting. Example: I used a label and diecut on the tag below to cover a teal “best friends” wording.

2. Use your paper stacks to create your own tags or background. Also, don’t be afraid to cut up your leftover tags to add touches of colors or wording. What was a book spine on a tag became a border in this pocket.

3. Layer your leftover diecuts and labels to add focal points around your page.

4. Dig in your stash of past kits and stickers. With Elle’s Studio products you are guaranteed to find color matches!

5. Finally, use lots of photos so you need less tags!

Memory Planner Magic with Marsha Farris

Hey, Elle’s Studio friends! This is Marsha, and I’m excited to be here today sharing a memory planner layout with you! For my project, I documented the first week of this month using the August 2022 kit and add-ons . This release was perfect for recording back-to-school activities for my youngest son!

Supplies | August 2022 Kit, Notebook Die Cut Shapes, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Teal, Lost in a Good Book Cardstock Stickers, Teal Cardstock Label Stickers, Puffy Star Stickers, The Best Paper Stack, Adventure Paper Stack, A Good Book Stamp, School Tabs Stamp, Medium Hazel Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp

I began the layout by stamping the dates with the Medium Hazel Stamp and black ink. This stamp has quickly become a favorite for my memory planning spreads! I then printed my photos and arranged them on the layout according to the date they were taken.

The teal Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers were great for adding mini titles to the page. I trimmed a portion of a journaling tag from the August Kit and added handwritten journaling to it. I enjoy including a mix of typed and handwritten journaling on my memory planner projects. 

Because I had several photos from the open house event at my son’s school, I chose to create a simple flip-up using patterned paper from the Adventure Paper Stack. This allowed for an additional photo from the day. Next, I stamped three tabs and words/phrases from the School Tabs Stamp, trimmed them out, and adhered them to the bottom of the flip-up photos. I love how this interactive element turned out! To finish the left side of the layout, I included die cuts from the August Kit and Notebook Die Cut Shapes to add a bit of interest to the page.  

For the right side of the spread, I added light blue ink to the edges of a star from the Notebook Die Cut Shapes to help it stand out from the white background. I then added stamping to the die cut using the School Tabs Stamp and the Medium Hazel Stamp. The Lost in a Good Book Cardstock Stickers and A Good Book Stamp were perfect for documenting the book I am currently reading. I loved the little bookshelf and books stickers and just had to include them on the page.

At the bottom of the layout, I created another mini title using the teal Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers and included labels from the Teal Cardstock Label Stickers. I backed one of the photos with a patterned paper from the The Best Paper Stack. To complete the spread, I added a few stars from the Puffy Star Stickers to provide additional color, texture, and interest on the page.
