It’s easy to mix and match the journaling tags that you receive in our monthly exclusive kits, collections and special mini collections, and today Jill Sprott is showing you just how beautiful those pairings can be! Let’s take a look at what she created.
The monthly kits and exclusive collections from Elle’s Studio always contain lots of journaling tags, which are often way too cute and colorful for their own good, triggering hoarding and stockpiling tendencies. Instead of letting the tags languish in my stash, however, I gathered together a bunch of them and layered them on this layout.
Supplies | June Kit, Hello Sunshine Stamp, Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Solid, Puffy Heart Stickers, March 2017 Kit, Love You Journaling Tags, Today Sticker Labels, Read Stamp, Live Laugh Love Double-Sided Journaling Tags, Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, Live Laugh Love Washi Tape Stickers
Each component helps to create a snapshot of my daughter at age nineteen, with each tag serving as a home for words and accents.
Because there is so much going on, I opted to use a simple color scheme of blue, green, and yellow, along with a gallon/quart/pint approach — that is, I used quite a bit of one color, less of a second color, and even less of a third color.
To create the title, I flipped over a journaling tag and stamped letters from the solid Stanley Alphabet Stamp first in shades of blue and green, and then stamped over them in a slightly different position using black ink and the letters from the Stanley Alphabet Outline.
This page first and foremost celebrates one of my favorite people, but it’s also a shout-out to something that Elle’s Studio has made a staple for me as a scrapbooker: the versatile journaling tag.
