Today we welcome Krista Wells back for her final post here on the Elle’s Studio blog, and we love that she’s sharing the two types of adventures that she loves best: the ones at home, as well as on the road. Take some inspiration from her pages and document your home and away summer fun! Let’s see what she created.
Summer, for me, is all about striking that balance between enjoying summer in our home town and scheduling a little vacation time! Today’s pocket pages are a mix of the two using the June Kit and shop add-ons; documenting a few fun summer things at home here in Newfoundland and a Boston Red Sox game in Boston.
First up, a little snippet of summer at home because visitors, daily hikes, and growing herbs are two “thumbs up” in my books.
Supplies | June Kit, Cork Tabs, Tiny Star Stickers, June Labels, Letter and Number Stickers – Black, Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Outline, Stanley Alphabet Stamp – Solid, Dated Stamp
In full disclosure, I made a mistake on my original title card. I had a cute “Summer Fun” tag all ready and printed my journaling on that same yellow block on the card. Then I dropped an ink pad on my tag! Boo! However, it turned out to be a happy accident. I cut out the journaling on the yellow block from my “mistake” tag and added it to this journaling tag. Then I stamped ‘Summer’ using the Stanley Alphabet outline and solid stamps, adding “fun” below using the black Letter and Number Stickers.
In the middle pocket I first stamped the date using the cool Dated Stamp on some yellow vellum before adding it to my hiking pic with Eugene, my fur baby. Beside it I had a fun photo of Eugene meeting my fav niece Isla that I added the ‘love this’ Cork Tab to the top.
In the bottom pocket I kept it simple. I added ‘plant lady’ using the black Letter and Number Stickers to a yellow label from the June Labels to the right of the photo. I also added a tiny teal star from the Tiny Star Stickers next to the ‘plant’ word.
Man, I love summer fun at home, but I also LOVE to travel! We made a little stop in Boston for my husband’s work and decided to stay for the weekend. We went to a Boston Red Sox game where we had an awesome time!
Supplies | June Kit, Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers, June Labels, Smile Acrylic, Today Stamp, Live Laugh Love Puffy Stickers
In the top pocket I added a photo of Fenway Park with only a couple of little banners from the Live Laugh Love Puffy Stickers and June Labels in the top left corner.
In the middle I added a torn, red June Label to the left on the photo, with “Play Ball” using the Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers. On the right I added a “Hello” using the Today Stamp, and “baseball” with the black Letter and Number Stickers to the red star tag from the June Kit.
In the bottom slot I slipped a selfie of us at the game into the pocket and added the Smile Acrylic on the outside of the pocket page.
I’m looking forward to taking some more vacations this summer, and hopefully sneaking in a baseball game or two!
I have loved being the guest designer this month! The June Kit and extras have been so much fun to work with. Grab them while you can!
Hello! My name is Krista Wells & I’m from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada – the most easterly point in North America. I’m a young, thirty-something chick who lives with her husband + fur baby, Eugene. Eugene is prominently featured in my scrapbooks alongside our travel adventures + a ridiculous number of food pics. I love to make mini-albums because I dearly love pocket pages but I can’t let go of layouts either! You could say I’m indecisive but I prefer to call it ‘open minded’ when it comes to my crafting. I’m currently designing for Kelly Purkey and my local store, The Paperie. I also write a bi-monthly article for Simple Scrapper’s Spark magazine.
When I’m not paper crafting I’m either eating or running. I do the latter to regulate the former of course. I love traveling & having adventures, near & far.
We have loved seeing Elle’s products put to use in Krista’s graphic pocket pages this month. If you missed them, don’t forget to check out her first and second guest posts using the new items in the shop. To see even more of Krista’s work, follow her at her blog and her Instagram account. Thank you so much, Krista! We’ve loved having you on the Elle’s Studio blog!
