Today we welcome our June guest designer, Krista Wells, back to the blog! If you follow her on Instagram, you’ve probably been a bit envious of her food adventures, and today she’s documenting a dinner date + dessert using the June Kit and new add-ons. Let’s take a look at what she created!
Anyone who knows me knows that I love food! I like to eat it, to take pictures of it and to scrapbook it. Today I wanted to share a couple of pocket page layouts that I created using the June Kit + the Live Laugh Love Collection to document food photos.
First up: One of our favourite meals in NYC last summer was at Samm Bar. The Pork Belly buns are worth the flight to the island of Manhattan.
Supplies | June Kit, Tiny Star Stickers, Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack, Jonah Alphabet Stamp
I kept it simple with this layout, going with a monochromatic spread for the most part with tiny pops of yellow. In the top photo I used the Jonah Alphabet Stamp and some Brilliance white ink to stamp ‘date night’ onto my photo.
For the middle pocket on the left I chopped a larger piece of black and white heart patterned paper from the Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack to a 3″ x 4″ tag before adding two of Samm Bar’s business cards – a front side and a back side copy. On the right, I just slipped in a photo.
In the bottom slots I added a photo of those delicious pork belly buns on the left and I added my journaling to this ‘current mood’ journaling card on the computer before putting it in the slot. I used the tip of my finger and a little yellow ink to stamp the happy face on the card.
After dinner comes dessert, so I thought, why not give you a little dessert to go with those Pork Belly buns?!
While in NY with my best friend D we made a pit stop at Il Labratorio De Gelato. It was worth the visit, and the calories!
Supplies | June Kit, Cork Tabs, Live Laugh Love Cutouts, Patriotic Stars and Hearts Mixed Acrylic, Stars and Hearts Mixed Acrylic, Sky Blue Puffy Alphabet Stickers
In the top pocket on the left I added a couple of the small die cuts from the June Kit to a business card from the gelato shop. On the right I added a Cork Tab with ‘current fav’ on it.
In the middle I had a cute photo of our gelato, topped with a blue and yellow acrylic hearts from the Patriotic Stars and Hearts Mixed Acrylic and Stars and Hearts Mixed Acrylic. I love those acrylic pieces! On the right I printed my journaling on a teal tag from the June Kit!
At the bottom I added a little label from the Live Laugh Love Cutouts to the centre of the 4″ x 6″ photo before adding ‘YUM’ using the puffy alpha stickers. Those guys are the perfect size for pocket pages!
This post seems like it has been a mini food guide to NYC! I hope you got a few ideas for scrapbooking those food photos you might have, and if you are ever in New York add these two spots to your ‘to eat’ list!
