We love mini albums, and our monthly kit is perfect for creating them! Let’s take a look at a special mini that design team member Melissa Mann created to highlight her special little niece. We just love the beautiful touches that she added with our add-ons to make it truly special!
Hello! It’s Melissa, and I’m happy to be on the blog again with you all this today to share a new mini book I made using my September Kit and add-ons.

I love creating mini books since there are so many different ways to personalize and document a series of photos. I really wanted to create something that had pockets and came up with the idea to create a library card pocket mini album.
The first thing I did was create six library pockets using kraft cardstock. I found a template online, printed it out and traced six pockets before cutting them out. I used my sewing machine to stitch them together. Once the pockets were all finished, I took two pockets and glued them back to back with my glue gun. This created a total of 3 double pocket pages.
I adhered patterned paper from the Autumn Days Paper Stack to the front of each pocket. I also chose a variety of 3″ x 4″ journaling tags from the September Kit and cut them down to layer on top of the patterned paper. These were all further embellished with stickers, the Navy Acetate Alphabet, and some stamped images that I created with the My Heart Stamp and cut out with the corresponding My Heart Metal Die.
I chose photos of my niece that my brother took on a recent vacation to California, printed them out and adhered either a photo or patterned paper to the back of each photo. On one of the tags from the September Kit, I stamped out the phrase “I LUV OMA” (the name my niece gave to my mom) with the outline Large Jane Alphabet Stamp.
My intention is to have my niece color this page before I gift this mini book to my mother. There are also some plain tags that I slipped into the pockets that I’m going to give Sage to color as well!
If you haven’t made a mini album in a while, I encourage you to give it a try! They are so much fun and can be about anything! I hope you all have enjoyed your September kit and add-ons as much as I did this month!
Thanks for stopping by!
