We Heart Traveler’s Notebooks with Kristina Proffitt

Traveler’s notebooks are popular right now in memory keeping, and it’s no wonder! Their portable size makes them perfect for documenting on-the-go, and they can be customized in any way, just like a scrapbook layout! Today, design team member Kristina Proffitt is sharing how she used our newest products to create a spread full of heart in her traveler’s notebook! Let’s see what she made!

I was so excited to pull out my traveler’s notebook and the new My Heart Metal Die this month and use them together on this project. Traveler’s notebooks are relatively new to me—this past year is the first year I’ve ever used them in my documenting, but I’ve been a fan of dies for a long time and this die set is just SO cute! Mixing the two was a lot of fun! Let me show you how I incorporated both.

The My Heart Metal Dies are so much fun to use. I thought the die set would be awesome to use on photographs of my dog Marlie, so I ran two photos through the die cutting machine and loved the outcome. Then I took cardstock that I had on-hand and used it to cut hearts in various sizes. Lastly, I cut the woodgrain patterned paper from the Autumn Days 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stack out with the heart die, too. I adhered all of the heart die cuts onto the page and used the white space around them to stamp sentiments from the My Heart Stamp, along with some of the stars from the Autumn Rainbow Puffy Stickers, too. Those hearts just make me smile so big! I also added a “happy” sticker from the This is Us Stickers onto one of the hearts for a bit more orange and to add an extra sweet sentiment.

One of my favorite patterns in the Autumn Days 6 x 8.5 Inch Paper Stack is the black paper with white dots all over it, so I knew I wanted to use it. I trimmed it just a bit and adhered it to the page. I just love how the 3″ x 4″ journaling tag looked on top of it. Something about that pretty blue just pops against that black! I rounded the corners of the patterned paper, wrote my journaling on the tag and then adhered the journaling card on top.

Lastly, I embellished the tag with a Stitched Heart Wood Veneer, a chipboard sticker from the Cozy Chipboard and one of the smaller Autumn Rainbow Puffy Stickers

One of the things that I love to do with journaling tags is cut them up and use just parts of them on a project. That’s exactly what I did with the “good times together with you” journaling tag from the September 2020 Kit that you see above the patterned paper. I wanted a sentiment there and decided to use part of that journaling tag because I loved the green and wanted a bit more dimension on the page. I stapled it with my tiny attacher and of course had to use some more of those puffy star stickers from the Autumn Rainbow Puffy Stickers—those are the best! For the date, I stamped right on one of the die cuts from the September Kit and of course stapled it because, yep, I’m obsessed with my tiny attacher!

I’m so glad that I gave traveler’s notebooks a chance because they are so fun to document in! They’re also a great way to create on the go since they’re super portable, and so much fun! What a great way to document during a trip! If you haven’t given traveler’s notebooks a chance yet, you totally should! While you’re at it, grab the My Heart Stamp and My Heart Metal Die and create a project with them! It’ll most definitely be a good time!
