Hi friends! It’s Daniela again sharing a brand new back-to-school-themed layout. Summer passed by way too soon and my family is getting back into our daily routine now. With myself being a teacher, my son in his last year at primary school and my daughter in first grade, school is kind of a big topic here!
I take pictures documenting the first day of school every year. I love flipping through the pages and it’s always interesting to see how much the kids have grown. Let’s take a look at this year’s page:

I decided to use blue, red and gray for a color scheme and started my page by cutting a big title. I just typed in the words using the Impact font, then I used some of my favorite papers to back the blanks: a quick and easy way to create a big and special title.
When I saw the big ABC Wood Veneer, I knew right away that I had to use it on one of my school-themed layouts. I created a big cluster using different tags from the August Kit and placed the wood veneer and my pictures on top of it. When using wood veneers, I always try to use more than one, so I also used two of the Wood Veneer Circles along with some color splashes.
Tiny details like little Acrylic Hearts and die-cuts always add a special touch to projects. Elle’s Studio offers so many different embellishments which offer the possibility to have lots of different textures on your page. That’s why working with those products is so much fun, plus everything can be combined easily.
