What has changed in your home in the past month? We’re guessing a lot! Today, design team member Katarina Prevendarova is with us to share the beautiful way she recorded extra time spent in her kitchen, and we think you’ll love her inspired layout background and interactive design! Let’s take a look!
Hi friends! It’s Katarina here with you, and today I am going to bring you a little inspiration using the gorgeous April kit and add-ons. March was very different for me, as many of you can relate! With my son and husband at home every day all day, I don’t remember when I cooked and baked so much in just a few weeks. As a passionate scrapbooker, I took a million photos and made an interactive overview of what could be found served in our dining room for a week during the month:
Supplies| April 2020 Kit, Life Right Now Stickers, This Week Chipboard Stickers, Lovely Puffy Stickers, Fuchsia Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Flourish 6 x 8.5 Paper Stack
I was so inspired by the cute little hexagon die cuts in the April 2020 Kit that I decided to make a layout with a hexagonal pattern. I chose the teal, purple and blue papers from the Flourish 6 x 8.5 Paper Stack and cut it into hexagons big enough to hold a 2″ x 2” photo.
What also inspired me were the This Week Chipboard Stickers. I used one photo from each day of the week using a corresponding day chipboard sticker.
I wanted to the layout to be interactive and include a lot of journaling. I made 7 flips-ups using my hexagons with photos, one for each day. Under each of them there is a smaller hexagon cut from the lined paper from the Flourish 6 x 8.5 Paper Stack. I used this space to journal about how I regularly bake sourdough bread, how my son likes his morning oatmeal, or enjoys eating fresh veggies on the balcony.
I added a couple more hexagons using the journaling tags from the April Kit and one cut from the black and white paper that holds my title, for which I used the Fuchsia Puffy Alphabet Stickers and a chipboard sticker in corresponding color from the This Week Chipboard Stickers.
Last but not least, I added the trio of hexagon die cuts from the April Kit, a bunch of Life Right Now Stickers and Lovely Puffy Stickers. All elements that are not interactive were raised by adhesive foam to add dimension and lift.
I had a lot of fun with this layout using all the beautiful products and love how it turned out. I hope I have inspired you to play with your April kit and extras, too, and if you do, please don’t forget to share with us in the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio. We love seeing what you create!
