Today design team member Amy Jo Vanden Brink is with us for her first post of 2020, to share a beautiful new pocket page that was inspired by a hue found in her photos, and also our January Kit! Let’s take a look:
Hello! It’s Amy Jo here with you today, and I have a really fun pocket page spread to share with you. The January 2020 kit and add-ons is so fun and versatile, and the bright colors instantly made me think of the photos from our Legoland trip last spring for my son’s 6th birthday.

The beautiful blue hue, found often in my photos and also in the January 2020 Kit, was so easy to work with across both sides of the spread, starting with the star paper from the Love Is Paper Stack. I used a few acetate pieces from the Magical Memories Acetate Die Cuts and tried to pair them with other pieces, like the fun Little Moments Leatherette Stickers, to help keep them in place.
I had some extra Instax photos that I wanted to add into the layout, and I also used the Little Moments Leatherette Stickers to hold one of them down here on the left side. I find that Instax photos are so slick they don’t always like to stay in place even with extra adhesive, so a solution like this works well. The Mini Dated Stamp in yellow also helped bring some color into the journaling tag on the top left.
On the right side, I used one of the True Love Printables to make a small pocket for the bottom left photo, and added the I Adore You small word stickers to the top right photo. I always love to pair word stickers with a small embellishment so that they don’t feel like they are floating in the middle of a photo needlessly, and the La La Love You Puffy Sticker heart was perfect here.
