Have you noticed that there are SO many amazingly talented scrapbookers and memory keepers out there these days? The ladies on the Elle’s Studio design team are no exception! This is Suzanna here today to share with you a scraplift that I did of one of Daniela’s February gallery layouts. It was difficult to choose just one layout! In fact, if I’m honest, I had four layouts initially and narrowed it down to one that truly inspired me and the layout I’m about to share. So inspired that it really IS a scraplift! Here’s Daniela’s layout that inspired me:
Here’s what I created based on her inspirational layout:
Supplies | March 2019 Kit, March Labels, So Awesome Printables, March Print and Cut Labels, Spring Puffy Stickers, Yellow Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack, The Details Stamp, Large Jane Alphabet Stamp – Stripes, Large Jane Number Metal Die
There were several things that grabbed my attention: the lose grid, not symmetrical but still evident; the stamped inner square on the grid background and the thin outer border. I was also drawn by the use of the striped Large Jane Alphabet Stamp for the title and wanted to incorporate that somehow.
Daniela only used a single photo on her page and I really wanted to incorporate two. I could have still used the 3″ x 4″ journaling card of patterned paper that she had with a smaller photo, but I opted to just replace the bottom, right tag with a photo. Daniela also used primarily 3″ x 4″ tags from the main kit, whereas I used just one, from the So Awesome Printables, and the rest is patterned paper from the Springtime 6 x 6 Paper Stack that I cut down to size.
Wanting to personalize the scraplift, I created my own grid background using the The Details Stamp with a hot pink ink. This is not the first time I have used this stamp set for something other than it’s intended purpose–I like to think out of the box and find multiple uses for goodies in my stash. It’s not perfect, but most of the grid is covered and I like the way that the imperfect grid matches the imperfect stamping on our imperfect date. Instead of the polka dot “I” from the Large Jane Alpha Stamp that Daniela used for her inner border, I used two of the phrases with arrows from the The Details Stamp with a coordinating yellow ink.
I love the color combinations in the March Kit, and rather than the two tone single color that Daniela used, I opted to incorporate more of the colors found in the kit with a focus on the yellow, green and pink. I found that this really made the blue in the photos pop.
