Love Sentiments and Backgrounds with Patricia Roebuck

Hello Elle’s Studio friends!  This is Patricia, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here today to share with you how to combine the January 2019 Kit and a few extras to make quick and easy sentiments and backgrounds to create one of a kind cards for that special someone.

Supplies | January 2019 Kit, Happy Heart Stamp, Jane Alphabet Stamp, Sweetheart Puffy Stickers

If you are like me, as you work with the Elle’s Studio kits, you get more inspired by the product.  The “yes, no, maybe” tag from the January Kit inspired my cards.  Using that tag for my first card, I started by creating a background using the Happy Heart Stamp.

Combining the Happy Heart Stamp image with three different inks varying in lightest to darkest in shades of blue and green created a nice warm and cozy weave affect for my panel.  Leaving some white space on the card panel, I then adhered the “yes, no, maybe” tag and die cuts from the January Kit on top.  Then finished the card with the Sweetheart Puffy Stickers to complete my sentiment.

Perfect for giving to your significant other! I kept with that same ‘love’ feel for the second card, inspired by the “I Love You!” die cut from the January Kit.  The “today” tag from the kit along with the Jane Alphabet Stamp added to my idea of building on my sentiment.

Don’t be afraid to cut your tags to use them two ways on your project as I did for this card. I wanted the “today” part of the tag to be a big part of my sentiment, so I trimmed it from the tag, then punched a 1” circle from the rest of the tag, and stapled the Today and punched circle together.

I created another background using the Happy Heart Stamp in two shades of pink ink with a contrast of blue ink, trimmed that down to adhere to my card panel, then stamped hearts from the Happy Heart Stamp in the same background colors to detail cut and layer on top.  Using the Jane Alphabet Stamp, I finished my sentiment by stamping the ampersand on the remainder of the “today” tag, tucked it under my stamped background, then stamped ‘always’ on a die cut from the January Kit.

As you work through your January 2019 Kit and extras for your memory keeping, look at new ways like this to build sentiments and backgrounds to create quick cards.  You will be happy to have these in your collection and ready to give, but most of all, enjoy creating them!
