Welcome July Guest Designer Sabrina Poole!

We are so excited to welcome our July guest designer, Sabrina Poole! Sabrina is an Elle’s Studio subscriber who loves to document using lots of fun details, in full color, in her pockets, traveler’s notebooks, and planners! We know you will love what she has to share with you today, so be sure to check out her bio at the end of the post so that you can find out more about her, and see more of her work! Welcome to the ES blog, Sabrina!

Hi everyone! My name is Sabrina Poole and I’m thrilled to be the guest designer for July. This kit includes a wonderful mix of colors perfect for capturing all your summer memories!

For my first project I wanted to play with the stamps and pulled out the yellow journaling cards from the kit. I then realized the stamps, yellow cards and the red paper from the Shine 6×6 paper pack worked perfect with some photos of my children splashing in the water.

The asterisk on the “let’s have fun” tag inspired me to use the Highlight Stamp to make my own custom embellishments. I decided to use Susan’s trick of using the back of Elle’s Studio packaging for a place to stamp. I stamped a bunch of the asterisks in yellow and red ink to coordinate with the tags and 6″ x 6″ paper. I then fussy cut them and used a foam dot to add some dimension. I now had my own custom embellishments!

I then wanted to create two focal cards—one 4″ x 4″ and one 4″ x 6″—with the Shine 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack to tie layout together cohesively. I used the July Labels to stamp some sentiments from the Everyday Phrases Stamp, added a tag from the July 2018 Kit, some veneer pieces from the Pool Time and Wood Veneer Phrases, Puffy Heart Stickers and my custom embellishments. The final touch was using some of the Hello Happy Puffy Words to add boldness and contrast to the cards.

On the 4″ x 6″ tag, I added a strip of the red paper to give my layers a foundation. The orange heart, from the May 2018 Kit, was also added to ground the smaller puffy heart. With all the fun pieces from the July Kit and extras, the two focal cards have lots of fun layers!

I loved working with real stamps, putting together my own focal tags with the awesome kit pieces and using the bold yellow tags in this month’s kit! The whole spread was so fun to put together!

Hey. My name is Sabrina Poole and I live near Sacramento with my hubby and two children. Life is busy and chaotic in the best of ways. It makes documenting, creating and scrapbooking easy! I have been documenting since I started college (nearly 14 years ago!) and I continue to document even though my format has changed. I’ve always been drawn to how documenting with colorful products leads to life being preserved in a beautiful, memorable way.

Right now I document mostly hybrid and use digital products to make projects come to life. I always have several projects going at once and love my crafty time. I post most of my projects on Instagram and am just now starting my YouTube channel. So excited!

Sabrina will be sharing two more projects with us this month, using the July Kit and add-ons! Until then, see what she’s creating on her Instagram account
