Vicki is going to spend the next three weeks with us sharing projects with our new October exclusive kit, add-ons and Family Fun collection, in her signature, beautiful mixed-media style. Hey there! It’s Vicki here and I am so excited to be back as a guest designer for Elle’s Studio! I am a HUGE fan and love creating with Elle’s Studio’s colorful and graphic designs.
The new October 2017 Kit and add-ons are fabulous! I combined the stamps, stickers and journaling tags to create this fun layout with watercoloring techniques.

I planned this layout around the beautiful leaf stamps from the So Cozy Stamp and the Thankful Acrylic title. I knew I wanted to add color and a focal point for the title.
I painted a white sheet of cardstock with watercolor using Art Crayons from my collection, then stamped the leaves in black and cut them out. To create the background for the leaves, I scribbled on the “Saturday” stamp from the Days of the Week Stamp with a blue Art Crayon, misted it with water and stamped the repeated pattern. The circle “love” and “play” words from the So Cozy Stamp and tiny circles from the Halloween Puffy Stickers make perfect embellishments!
I knew I wanted to use white cardstock for the base of my page and I was worried that the Thankful Acrylic title would get lost. Solution: I added Texture Paste through a stencil and added watercolor on top! I love how this turned out! I secured the title with some twine stitches.

The rest of the layout came together with layered journaling tags from the October 2017 Kit, a mat of patterned paper from the 12″ x 12″ Family Fun Paper Collection and die cuts.
These Vellum Speech Bubbles are the best! The color is so saturated and they add the perfect “pop” on the page!
This kit and the add-ons do not disappoint! Great big, bold designs that work perfectly with a kiss of mixed media! Love it!
Vicki Boutin has been paper crafting and documenting life with her husband and son and daughter since 2001. She aspires to find time to create something everyday and she loves to play with paper, pocket scrapping, altered art, card making, stamping and photography. Layers and layers of inks, paints, stencils and stamps with a sprinkle of something shiny all culminate to create what Vicki likes to refer to as ECLECTIC FUNK. If it has layers, lots of color and it was fun to make than that’s where you will find this mixed media paper crafter!
