Creating a Summer Tag Mini Album with Meghann Andrew

Do you ever see a product and know instantly what you’re going to create with it? Meghann Andrew did with our Cork Tags, and today she’s here to share her creation. Let’s see where her inspiration took her…

Hi there! It’s Meghann with you today, and I am excited to show you more of the mini album I created using some fun, new product in the shop this week!

As soon as I saw the new Cork Tags, my initial thought was, “I MUST make a mini album with those!” I chose the “summer” tag, and started off by backing it with the yellow pattern from the Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack. I then stamped “documented” and “2017” using the Dated Stamp and added just a few of the Summer Puffy Stickers. Easy!

The Cork Tags are 1-7/8″ or 1.875″ wide and 3-1/2″ tall.

I chose my photos and cropped them to the same dimensions as the tag. Three photos fit on each 4″ x 6″ page, which makes this mini album quite easy and inexpensive to create, since the cost of photos can certainly add up!

Using one of the Cork Tags as a guide, I simply snipped off the corners of my photos and added a hole punch.

When choosing my tags from the July 2017 Kit and Summer Journaling Tags, I used the tag shape to figure out where I was going to crop, so that I allowed space for journaling, or didn’t cut off any elements that I liked on the tag.

I then pulled together a few simple supplies and got to work to create the pages.

On the inside of the cover tag, I put another piece of the yellow pattern from the Live Laugh Love 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack to have the same pattern on the back and front. Backing the Cork Tag with two pieces of paper also helps it to stay quite rigid. I then used the Love This Life Stamp to stamp “around here” and added a die cut from the July 2017 Kit in the center. On the opposite page, the Summer Puffy Stickers topped a photo of my daughter swimming to my husband in the pool. The sayings on these puffies are perfect!

On the back side of the pool photo, I added the perfect tag from the Summer Journaling Tags, to which I added typed journaling to, along with the date. Who else has lots of play dates planned this summer? Don’t forget to document them! On the opposite page, that’s what I did with a photo of my daughter and her friends, with just a Summer Puffy Sticker placed at the front of their table.

I love the backside of the playdate photo. I topped the red stripe on the tag from the July 2017 Kit with a stamped heart from the Love This Life Stamp, popping it up with dimensional adhesive. On the opposite page, I topped of photo of my daughter relaxing by the pool with an Everyday Circle Sticker and Summer Puffy Stickers.
