A Summer Memory Keeping Solution with Candace Perkins

You’re probably busy enjoying the start of your summer, but have you thought about how you’re going to document it? Candace Perkins is with us today to share the perfect solution: a summer Memorydex with cards created from the Summer Journaling Tags and June reveal items! Let’s see her fun project!

Hello friends & happy summer! I am so happy to be back with you today sharing a fun project using the new Summer Journaling Tags along with goodies from the new June arrivals! These two collections of tags coordinate perfectly and are all ready to hold all your summer stories!

To start, I printed out a bunch of summer memories I wanted to include in my summer Memorydex. Next, I used the Memorydex dies to die cut a few patterns from the Sunny Days 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack along with a few journaling tags.

After all of my cards and photos were ready, I just played! Yea! I went through my embellishments, cards and photos and just started mixing and matching. So often in scrapbooking we feel pressure to “design” and “balance”. It was so fun to just sit, play, create and capture memories!

On my title card I used one of the Summer Journaling Tags along with the black Letter and Number Stickers and Acrylic Summer Shapes.

The second card is a mix of Summer Journaling Tags and die cuts from the June Kit. To add a little more interest and dimension I used foam squares along with the tiny attacher staples to adhere my photos.

I adore the little popsicle journaling tag that was perfect to document summer treats.

We do a lot of grilling during the summer so I was so excited to see this journaling tag! (And how cute is that little grill?!)

For this card I die cut a 4″ x 6″ tag, then adhered another 3″ x 4″ tag layered with die cuts. I love that all the sentiments on the June Kit die cuts. A summer match made in heaven!

I think I need a million more of these summer tags from the June Kit! This is what summer is all about! I layered a few tags together to add additional color and interest and topped it all off with more Acrylic Summer Shapes.

My happy place… in a swimsuit, next to water, but not in it …LOL. No project is complete without a Puffy Heart Sticker!

Next, I created an envelope out of patterned paper from the Sunny Days collection. I used the Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers to add “notes” to the front of the envelope that holds more summer memories and notes.

Tucked inside the envelope are more 3×4 cards trimmed slightly and embellished with HOT summer memories!

This was such a fun project to create! I am so happy that I have all these memories captured and because it is in the Memorydex I can add more as the summer goes on!

What summer memories will you capture and document this year? Have fun!
