Our second Project Kit sneak peek is here! These sneaks show some of the exclusive Elle’s Studio tags, along with a bunch of other stuff in the kit 🙂 If you missed the first sneak peek, you can see it here.

And, today we want to give you a little clue about the theme of this kit… Get ready to document your summer!

We will be revealing everything in the kit with the big launch that will take place this Monday, May 23rd at 8:00 am PST! These kits are limited and the exclusive Elle’s Studio tags will NOT be printed ever again or sold as digitals – this will be the only time they are available! And, make sure you are on our newsletter list – newsletter subscribers will get to have a 30 minute pre-sale!

Also, don’t forget, because we are so excited about this launch, everyone who purchases a kit on May 23rd will be entered to win a Fujifilm Instax Mini! These little cameras are so fun to use and capture little moments!

Sketch Thursday : 5.19.11

This week is truly an exciting one here at the ES blog!  Welcome to our second new blog feature, Sketch Thursday.  Each Thursday, we’ll be providing you with a scrapbook sketch to inspire you as you create your next layout.  Perfect timing for any time you might be able to create this weekend!
I fell in love with this layout by design team member Lory Bucaria.  The colors, the stitching, all of the little details – just love it all!  It was the perfect choice to use for this week’s sketch.
This sketch features a single photo with many places for embellishments and a large journaling block.  But don’t stop there!  Make our sketch your own by rotating it, flipping it – whatever!
I used this sketch as a jumping point for my layout.  I love that a sketch can be taken literally or simply act as inspiration.  I created a 12×12 layout and used three photos where Lory used only one.  Instead of the small embellishment in the top left corner of the sketch, I moved this to directly above my photos and used it to house my title.  I kept my journaling block in the same location but instead of blocks of embellishments I layered several circles to mimic the circles in the patterned paper I used.
Other product used : Studio Calico’s Lawn Party kit.
Fellow design team member, Mandie Pierce, followed this week’s sketch more closely.  Mandie kept the original 8.5×11 size from the sketch but used two photos instead of one.  She also positioned her title above her photos instead of across them.  Little changes that make the sketch all her own.  

Another member of our design team, Rebecca Keppel, also used this week’s sketch to complete a layout.  Instead of the hard lined edges in the sketch, she chose to use circles – not only in her embellishment choices but also for her large photo mat.

One Buck Wednesday at JessicaSprague.com

These are great for your digi layouts, paper layouts, and more! My favorite thing to do with them is to print them out from the pdf file, and then use them in my traditional photo albums, that only contain photos! I write on them and slide them over photos to record all the details of the photos – since they are 6 inches long and just over half an inch tall, they are the perfect size for fun little notes!

Take Out Tuesday : 5.17.11

Welcome to our new blog feature, Take Out Tuesdays.  Every other Tuesday, we’ll be supplying you with a project complete with step-by-step instructions so that you’re able to simply sit down and create.  No thinking cap required!  A make and take that’s ready when YOU’RE ready.
Let’s get started!
This project uses two vertical 4×6 photos – no special sized photos here!  I like to edit and print my photos at the end of each month so that I can get them on a layout whenever I’m ready to scrapbook by simply pulling a few from a specific month’s stack.  By simply switching photos and embellishments, you can duplicate this project numerous times and each one would still look unique!
Other product used : Studio Calico’s Lawn Party kit.

Brand new to Elle’s Studio: Project Kits!

Something really fun and new is coming next Monday, May 23rd to Elle’s Studio – They are a special, limited edition, Project Kits! We plan on selling up to 4, or maybe more, different kits a year! This is something we’ve been wanting to do for awhile, but only now has it been possible because we have the help of Jenni Hufford! We announced that she was joining our team, but we left out what she was doing – now we can tell you! She is our Project Kit Coordinator and is helping us come up with the ideas for the kits and picking out the amazing products that go in the kits! She has amazing style and a great way of bringing projects together, so we are very excited to have her on board with us!

Our Elle’s Studio Project Kits will include:
– Limited edition Elle’s Studio tags, that are exclusive and made only for the kit they are in
– Items from other manufactures that coordinate, like papers, embellishments, etc.
– Instructions for if you want to put your project kit together like our example

Our project kits will be extremely limited – once they are sold out, they are gone forever! And, the exclusive Elle’s Studio tags that are in the kit will not be sold anywhere else, ever again! You’ll only be able to get them in the kit, and once the kit is gone, so are the tags – so you won’t want to miss out on these!

We’ll be showing you a sneak peek or two during this week and then on Monday, May 23rd our first ever Project Kit will be up for sale at 8:00 am PST time. *Please note: These kits WILL NOT be available for wholesale purchases. Lets help “Stamp Out Hunger” – it’s tomorrow!

Are you ready to help Stamp Out Hunger?
We are very passionate with helping out others, and there is nothing better, in my opinion, than participating in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive because the donations go directly to your local food banks and you are giving back and supporting your own local community! Plus, there have been a lot of reports that donations to food banks have really suffered this last year or two, so they could really use all our help!
If you live in the United States, all you have to do is:
1. Gather non-perishable food in a bag
2. Leave the bag at your mail box tomorrow, on Saturday, May 14th
3. Your mail man will pick it up and deliever it to a local food bank
They made it so easy for us! You could even take a quick peek in your cupboards to see if you have some extra things you can donate – or if you are headed to the store today, grab a couple extra things to give! You don’t have to donate a ton of items, just what you can afford. And, remember, every item counts!
Make sure you spread the word: Tell (or remind) your family, friends and neighbors!

Elle’s Studio Design Team Call for July – December 2011!

It’s that time again!  We’re looking for some amazing crafters that love to scrapbook and work with our products, to be on our design team for the second half of 2011 (July-December).

Design Team Member Responsibilities:
– Creating 2 layouts + 1 additional item (card, tag, project, mini album, etc.) each month for our inspiration gallery.
– Meeting project and photo deadlines each month.
– Participating in blog tutorials, sketches, blog hops, etc. as scheduled.
– Participating in our Designer Spotlight week by providing answers to a short interview and creating a project to include with your spotlight.
– Maintaining communication with the rest of the design team and Elle’s Studio through our Google Group, calendar, e-mail, etc.
– Posting your Elle’s Studio projects online on your personal blog and two scrapbook galleries online each month, including a link to the Elle’s Studio website (if allowed).
You will receive:
– All your layouts, cards, tags and projects posted on our site and blog
– Tons of Elle’s Studio products to work with!
– A link on our blog to yours
– Ability to request items for projects you have in mind

To apply:
We have set up a special email account for collecting applications only. Please send the following to us in one email, to ellesstudio@gmail.com Applications are due by May 25th:
– Three images of three different layouts, cards or project(s) that best represent you and your style. Images must be no larger than 600 x 600 px.
– A short 300 word bio about you
– Link to your blog
– Link to any gallery you are currently posting to
– Include any current or past design team or publications
– If you primarily scrapbook in paper or digital

We will be contacting potenial design team members by May 31st and announcing the design team members, here at our blog, in early June!

Please note: Overseas and international designers are welcomed to apply, too – Yes! We’d love to have people from all over the world design for us!

National Scrapbooking Day 2011 Winners
