Contributing Team Highlight: Limited Edition ES October Kit

Today we’re excited to be sharing the first projects from our NEW Contributing Team!  Their initial projects all use our limited edition October kit which are getting close to selling out.  If you haven’t grabbed yours yet, now is the time!

Contributing team member Melissa Mann created this gorgeous layout with our October kit.  So many amazing details!  The stitching, the embellishments – love it all!

Our kits contain so many tags that there’s no reason to be stingy with them on your projects!  Jen Chapin used many of the bits and pieces within the kit on this layout to make it come together quickly.
And of course, creating seasonal themed layouts is easy with our kits!  CT member Kay Rogers used our October kit for a couple of her pumpkin patch photos.
Creative Team member Angie Gutshall used five tags from our October kit to scrapbook these photos of her adorable family.
Who says that you can only scrapbook children in their Halloween costume?  Meghann Andrew‘s adorable pup is forever documented thanks to her use of our limited edition October tags.
Last but not least, Daniela Dobson also went the seasonal route and used bits of this and that to highlight her pumpkin carving photos.
We hope our Creative Team members have inspired you to reach for your October kit – or reach for your favorite method of payment to grab one before they’re gone! – and can’t wait to see what you create!

Our Monthly kit + Your Stash

Hello scrappy friends! I’m back with another edition of Our kit + Your stash, where we show you how well Elle’s Studio products mix with your stash at home and hopefully inspire you to scrap.

This month’s kit is definitely a favorite of mine. The fall-ish colors and different tags shapes and sizes are amazing. I love the kit so much that I actually didn’t add too much to it 🙂

I mixed the October kit with our brand new Penelope collection and a few oldish ‘staples’- Thickers, wood veneer shapes and vellum.

For my layout, I cut out some of the elements for my title, layered several tags and papers and punched out fall leaves. It was fun and quick and I love how it turned out.

What have you made with your kits? We’d love to see 🙂

Design Team Highlight: Halloween

Hello Friday and Happy Weekend!

I love sharing projects from our Design Team Gallery each week with you and today is no exception!  As Halloween is less than two weeks away, I thought it would be the perfect theme for today.

Annette added pages to her Halloween mini album using our exclusive and limited edition October kit and tags from our Spooky Tales collection.
Vee also used our October kit to create a Halloween themed card for her daughter’s friend.  A striking minimalist design.
I love the layers on this card created by Laurel.  So many details to take in and a great combination of our October kit and several other ES products.
We hope these highlights from our talented design team inspires you to put your Elle’s Studio products to use!

Welcome back! Today’s sketch was inspired by Annetteh’s lovely girl layout from this month’s DT gallery.

We have Angie, from our contributing team joining us this week. Look what a super fun layout she created:

What caught my eye with this sketch was the cool line up of stripes of paper.  I went with using the stripes from the Penelope line to use as part of my journaling. Angie

Project Life: Travel Edition

This week’s Project Life covers a page in my Disney Travel album.

Fall Break is upon us, and I know many of you will be traveling!  I will often tell people that if they are considering the Project Life/ pocket styled scrapbooking method, start by documenting a vacation.  It helps to have an “ending point” in mind as you put together your album.  Vacations are perfect for pocket style scrapbooking!

We visited Walt Disney World in May of this year, and I have really enjoyed documenting this vacation using the Project Life method.  Obviously, I am not documenting in a week-by-week method, but rather, focusing in blocked events and using Project Life page dividers to mark each day.  This page documents our evening exploring the Magic Kingdom.

I decided to balance all the fireworks/evening photos by placing the Elle’s Studio “Love you to the Moon and Back” journaling card on the opposite page.  The chalkboard effect in this card is a perfect balance to the darker photos on the opposite page.

While traveling, I am very aware of odds and ends to save in order to add to my albums later.  For instance, the receipt of the $5 water bottle (!!!) at the Disney Parks was worth noting and saving.  I also love saving maps in order to document our day (this is great for amusement parks, zoos, museums, etc).

We want to feature your Project Life album!  During the last week of each month we will be featuring a couple Project Life spreads that caught our eye in the Member Gallery.  We will be posting Project Life spreads on our blog tomorrow!   If your spread is featured we will be sending you a $5 gift card to use in our store.   Good Luck!

Project Life was created by Becky Higgins as a way to simplify how you document life and preserve memories. Photo pockets used in my Project Life album are created by Becky and can be found here.  You can read of all the Elle’s Studio Project Life posts here.

Capture Life – 10.14.13

Capture Life – Home

The leaves are displaying their beautiful hues, there’s a frost in the morning air, and the evenings end with snuggling around the fireplace. It’s FALL; my favorite time of year.
It means pumpkins, gourds, trick or treating, and spending time at home.

On a drizzly morning when all my kids were gone, I took a little walk around our yard and captured the “now”.

Our house has changed a lot since we bought it. We’ve remodeled, added on, and did a bit of landscaping.

I challenge you to capture your HOME at this beautiful colorful time of year.

This year we planted a bunch of pumpkins and gourds. We are loving having them on display around the yard.

Be sure your capture your front door. It’s then entry way into your Everyday Life and deserves a special spot in your album.

Don’t forget the details!

To capture this photo I actually got down on the ground. This angle creates that beautiful depth of field.

Now, let’s get those photos on a page and our memories recorded!

I used the October Tag Kit along with the brand new October Digital Cut Files to create my layout.

I hope you are inspired to get out and capture your HOME. Big, small, country, or city … capture your special place today!

Now go on … Get out and Capture Life!
