Pin to Win Your Elle’s Studio Wish List

pintowinESIt’s no secret – we LOVE using Pinterest! We were thinking that it’s time we have a Pinterest contest and what better time to have one than right now?

All you have to do is pin the Elle’s Studio items on your wish list (from our website) and you’ll have the chance to WIN your entire list!

Here’s how you can play along:
1. Make sure you are following us on Pinterest
1. Create a new board on your Pinterest called “Elle’s Studio Wish List”
2. Visit our website and pin the items you want to win to that wish list board
3. Come back here and leave a comment linking us up to your wish list board

Then, check back here on July 27th to see if you are one of the THREE winners! There is no limit to the amount of items you can pin and win, either, so make sure you pin everything you’ve been wanting – we can’t wait to see what’s on your list!

PROJECT LIFE

This week’s Project Life covers the week of June 23-29.Image 2

My goal for this week was journal, journal, journal.   I sometimes think journaling can be perceived as an “after thought” in a layout.  I know I sometimes think that after I add my photos, found objects, and embellishments.  But this week I let journaling be front and center.

Image 1

I love the way it turned out– and it gave me an opportunity to really think about the stories I wanted to highlight, how much I wanted to say, and where to actually put the journaling.

Image

One of my favorite places to journal is directly on the photo.  I can print photos with a border on my Canon Selphy, which offers the perfect place to journal without needing an embellishment- easy. (I use American Crafts photo marker to journal directly on photos).   Additionally, I used a journaling card from the July 2014 kit to add a stream of consciousness journaling about the week in general.  To be honest, there is so much that is happening in our weeks over the summer, I just can’t in ALL photos– that’s why I love journaling.  It accomplishes all that and more.EllesStudio-JulyExclusiveKit-01

For the majority of this spread I used the July 2014 kit along with items from Shine.  Everything went together perfectly! Image 3

My daughter had a big week this week:  her very first camp.  Theatre camp!   I highlighted photos taken from her final performance and used a 3×3 wallet sized protector page.  You can find something similar here.  Mixing up the sizes of pocket pages has been really fun for this busy summer!

I hope this inspires you to take time to translate your thoughts to words on your Pocket style pages and layouts!

Capture Life :: Let your Feet tell the Story

These days as you flip through your instagram feed, you’re sure to find someone’s toes in the sand enjoying the best part of Summer.

IMG_1418

Inspired by Patricia Roebuck’sSand in My Toes” layout, I got to thinking. How does our feet help tell our story?Untitled-1Maybe it’s our first time at a Lake with a brand new bucket of toys …IMG_1404maybe it’s playing in the mud …IMG_9996or the rain …IMG_4830 maybe it’s a pair of chore boots passed down to another generation …IMG_0014

or maybe it’s your favorite cowgirl boots that over the past 10 years have become formed to your way of walking…IMG_9339maybe it’s memories of a cold winter wedding and trying to huddle together to stay warm …IMG_2878 or, maybe it’s telling the story of welcoming a new member to your family.IMG_6335Whatever story your feet may tell; I challenge you to capture it today! Be sure to share your “feet” layouts with us in the Member Gallery as we can’t wait to see where they take you!

Three favorite Elle’s Studio Products:  Happy Day Wood Stamp Veneers, Shine Journaling Tags, and Shine Lil’ Snippets Blank Labels.

Image 5

What are three products you can’t live with out?

I can’t live without spary mists, black StazOn ink pads, and my date stamper.

Image 11

What do you listen to/watch while scrapbooking?

I always listen to the radio while I scrap… mostly pop and country.  And I always crank up the volume to my favorite songs!Image 10

What is your favorite color combination?

My favorite color combination at the moment is aqua, coral, and gold.

Image 14

Do you record every moment or just the special ones?

I record both.  I record the everyday moments through my Project Life spreads and layouts, and special moments through mini albums.

Image 4

What is your favorite thing about scrapbooking?

My favorite thing about scrapbooking is getting to play with so many gorgeous and inspiring products and getting a chance to express myself creatively through photos and paper.  I also love the community and friends that I have made through my crafting journey and getting time to reflect and document me and my family’s everyday life.

Thank you so much for joining us this month Adrienne!  Leave a comment on this post to be entered for a chance to win Adrienne’s favorite Elle’s Studio items!

Project Highlights from our Contributing Team

We have some incredible projects from our Contributing Team that we want to highlight today! Each person used our exclusive kit for July, along with our collections (Shine, Love You More, and Everyday Moments) and some also included our stamp that coordinates with the July kit, and our July cut files.

It’s so fun to see how each of their projects came together and the pieces they chose to use – but how their own style shines through! Let’s take a peek:

EllesStudio-MelissaMannBy Melissa Mann – Check out how Melissa used our cut files this month! So fun how she filled some of them with papers and left the others empty!

I-Love-You-More-Than-Ice-Cream-blogBy Meghann Andrew – Meghann used our exclusive stamp to stamp in the background and form the heart! And, we love how she used the “I love you more than” tag from the July kit to coordinate with the photo!

Beautiful day by Daniela Dobson[3]By Daniela Dobson – Daniela was able to capture her Fourth of July fun with our kit and cut files! We love how she used those frames!

PROJECT LIFE

Today’s Project Life covers the week of June 16-27.Image 2

For this spread I used a wide variety of Elle’s Studio products– the June Monthly Kit, pieces from Shine, and even journaling cards from Cameron!   I love how all of these together, with my photos, can make the spread “work”.

Image

One thing I am noticing this summer is that I have not taken as many photos as I usually do.  Maybe I don’t want to lug my DSLR out to the pool, or we are too busy having fun, but there are definitely less photos to work with during the week.  This is fine because it’s a true representation of those favorite moments, yet helps me realize to get out the camera more often (even if it’s just my iPhone).

Image 1

I was able to include a drawing, items from my son’s basketball camp, and a shower invite.  I love including these bits and pieces of life and incorporate them into my weekly spread.

How’s your Summer Project Life coming along?  Are you making any changes?

Tag You’re It :: Using Product Packaging

This month’s Tag idea is a simple one. In fact, I used the packaging from the Foodie Journaling Tags to cut two tags for a journaling spot on my page.

IMG_9885I then had fun adding layers using multiple supplies from the Shine Collection, as well as the exclusive Foodie add on kit.

IMG_9892I finished the design off with some white machine sewing and the white alphabet which both pop great against the black background.

Do you repurpose the packaging from the kits, or stamps?
We’d love to see how! Share with us HERE in the Member Gallery!
