This week’s Project Life covers the week of June 23-29.
My goal for this week was journal, journal, journal. I sometimes think journaling can be perceived as an “after thought” in a layout. I know I sometimes think that after I add my photos, found objects, and embellishments. But this week I let journaling be front and center.
I love the way it turned out– and it gave me an opportunity to really think about the stories I wanted to highlight, how much I wanted to say, and where to actually put the journaling.
One of my favorite places to journal is directly on the photo. I can print photos with a border on my Canon Selphy, which offers the perfect place to journal without needing an embellishment- easy. (I use American Crafts photo marker to journal directly on photos). Additionally, I used a journaling card from the July 2014 kit to add a stream of consciousness journaling about the week in general. To be honest, there is so much that is happening in our weeks over the summer, I just can’t in ALL photos– that’s why I love journaling. It accomplishes all that and more.
For the majority of this spread I used the July 2014 kit along with items from Shine. Everything went together perfectly!
My daughter had a big week this week: her very first camp. Theatre camp! I highlighted photos taken from her final performance and used a 3×3 wallet sized protector page. You can find something similar here. Mixing up the sizes of pocket pages has been really fun for this busy summer!
I hope this inspires you to take time to translate your thoughts to words on your Pocket style pages and layouts!
