In Your Planner with Nancy Damiano

Every month when I (Nancy Damiano) create with the monthly kit, I end up with a handful of bits and pieces that are perfect for my planner. What better way to enjoy them all month long, than to include them in some of my daily pages.

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-Planner1
The plain white pages are dressed up with bold pops of color from the February kit. The 3×4 cards and cut a parts are a great place to add notes and lists in your planner. The Light Gray Letters & Numbers sticker divide the page into even more places for lists.

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-Planner2
The numbers on the Thankful stamp are perfect for a bright and colorful to-do list. A fun die cut to fill in a place and time from the exclusive February kit, and a sentiment from the Everyday stamp personalize the page.

The vellum hearts make a pretty custom clip to hold things down. I fill the side pockets with even more left over bits for the remaining week. The exclusive kits are a beautiful way to dress up scrapbooks, project life and planners!

Sketch Thursday

EllesStudio-SketchThursday-03-03-16
Good Morning! This is Melissa here with you today and I’m sharing my take on the sketch that was based off of a layout by Kay Rogers. I loved the strips of pattern paper on the sides of the layout!

Sketch_MelissaMann1
Once I got started with my layout, I decided to switch it around to where the strips where on the bottom and top of the layout. I stuck with the sketch for the rest of the layout and used some more of the fantastic digital cut files to use as embellishments for the background.

Sketch_MelissaMann2
Those pie chart digital cut files are one of my favorites! I typed up some journaling on one of the 3×4 cards that came in the February 2016 kit and used the “Thankful” digital cut file as my title and the black alphabet stickers as my subtitle!

PROJECT LIFE |MOVIE REVIEW

Today I am sharing a page from my Project Life album.EllesStudio-ProjectLife01
We are BIG Star Wars fans in our household!   My family watched “The Force Awakens” together over Christmas Break.  I knew it was something I wanted to document in our album.  Although I only had two photos from the evening, I paired it with a few other items to create a spread.  I saved our ticket stub, and found a tag from a T-shirt (the Storm Trooper image) and paired it with the two photos.

EllesStudio-ProjectLife02
I also used our Little Moments Paper Pack, and the “Movie Review” journaling card was the perfect addition for this spread.  I then used our Jonah Stamp and layered two ink colors to pull in the black and yellow.

Little Moments Layout with special guest Nicole Harper

Let’s welcome our February guest designer, Nicole Harper, back to the Elle’s Studio blog today with a beautiful layout using the new Little Moments collection that will be in stock on March 10th, along with our March kit + extras. We love Nicole’s simple, and playful style, which pairs so perfectly with ES product. Let’s take a look at how her layout came together, and in case you missed it, be sure to check out the pocket page project that she shared with us earlier in the month.

Hello again, Elle’s Studio fans! There are so many fun elements in the Little Moments collection that I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to use, which isn’t a bad problem to have, right?!

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-LittleMoments-05
I’ve been wanting to document this photo from last summer for a while, and I’m so glad I waited. This collection had just the right amount of spunk to document a very cool moment. Our daughter’s thespian troupe was invited to attend a private workshop at the Cleveland Play House, which was a HUGE deal, and at the end of the day the parents were invited to come watch them perform a series of one act plays. It’s pretty neat to see your child and her friends live on a prestigious stage, even if it was a casual affair!

I opted to keep the layout fairly simple, and used several pieces of paper from the Little Moments 6” x 6” paper stack, which is packed full of beautiful colors and patterns.

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-LittleMoments-04
“The Story of” stamp set, which coordinates with the Little Moments collection, has quite a few sentiments that can be used over and over again. I LOVE stamps, but consider them an investment. This is the exact kind of set I would opt for if I were shopping, as I know I will get so much use out of it. Clean, classic fonts, phrases that can be paired with just about anything, and nothing too themed or trendy. There is some good stuff right here in this set!

I paired the ‘hello’ outline stamp with gold embossing powder on the pink graph paper and repeated it along the bottom edge. I placed the “favorite” tag so that it pointed to my daughter in the photo.

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-LittleMoments-02
I punched hearts from the Jonah labels, lined them up and stitched them at the top edge of the grey star paper, which I had to use! I loved the Jonah labels, but knew that if I tried cutting them out, they would look ‘off.’ So I grabbed a punch and still got to use them, just in a different way.

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-trythis2Also of note, the Jonah alphabet stamp set… YOU NEED IT. I used Brilliance ink in Moonlight White and used the alphabet set to stamp directly onto my photo. Look at how great the image comes out!!

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-LittleMoments-01
Finally, I reached for the “The Story Of” stamp set again to stamp along the left edge of the layout. I love to add a bit of journaling in unexpected places, and this set is a great jump-start to do that. I just used the ‘you are’ stamp and filled in the rest of my statement. Easy!

EllesStudio-NicoleHarper-LittleMoments-03Thank you again for having me as the guest for February, and I hope to see some of you this year at one of the events I will be teaching at!

Using the Everyday Stamp Set with Maggie Massey

Hey everyone! Maggie here! Today I’m sharing a fun and easy layout I created using Everyday Stamp Set.

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-StampFull
Sometimes I think a sweet and simple page is all you need to tell your story. For this page, the photo kind of tells its own story, so I wanted to keep the embellishing to a minimum. I gathered my supplies, and got to work…

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-Stamp01
The circular stamp in the set was the inspiration for this page – in fact, as soon as I saw it, I knew what I wanted to create for my layout…so I punched some circles out of patterned paper, grabbed a few of the The Best wood veneer pieces and started arranging my elements around my photo.

Once I had a basic idea of where I wanted what, I grabbed the stamps and started “filling in” all of the empty spaces…that was the best part.

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-Stamp02EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-Stamp03
The colors and patterns on this page make me so happy! And that stamp set is definitely one that I’ll be going back to again and again!

Journaling with Meghann Andrew

Hello there. It’s Meghann here with you today, and for me, there is never a bigger time-saver than when a kit dictates my story. Sometimes I really struggle to figure out what story to tell, and I spend time scrolling through my iPhoto app, taking away from my much-needed creative time.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Journaling01
This month, it was the “you say the cutest things,” tag from the February exclusive kit that motivated me to tell a story. I paired the tag with the new Little Moments collection to create a fun layout about my daughter.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Journaling02
“I Love You Big Much” Supplies: February exclusive kit,  Little Moments paper collection pack, Little Moments journaling tags, Little Moments bits and pieces, “The Story Of” stamp set, Jonah alphabet stamp set, Jonah labels, letter & number stickers- black.

When I saw the “you say the cutest things” tag, I immediately remembered that I had taken a photo of my daughter, her arms raised, saying that she loved me, “BIG much!” and I knew this was the story to tell. I loved that I could easily pair the colors in this month’s kit with the Little Moments collection to create a fun, colorful layout.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Journaling03
As usual, my favorite part of creating the layout was the stamping! The new “The Story Of” stamp is perfect for starting your layout stories and includes sayings like, “this was,” “you are,” and “today was.” I chose “you said” to start my title, and stamped it in grey & colors to match the Little Moments collection down the right side of my photo. I topped the stamped words with the “I love you to the moon and back” tag, which I cut so that I could top with the “BIG” label, stamped with the Jonah alphabet, and the “much” tag, created using the black alphabet stickers.

To complete the layout, I sewed through the cute multicolored hearts from the Little Moments journaling tag, added a tiny tab of ribbon and a few puffy heart stickers to create a simple, happy layout that tells an important story.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the February exclusive kit to find out what stories it will spark for you!

Little Moments Layout with Candi Billman

EllesStudio-Candi-LittleMoments1
Hello! Candi here today to share with you how I used the newest Little Moments Collection on my latest project! I can’t get over how wonderful this whole line is – When I started to create this layout, I had the whole collection out and I wanted to put every single tag on this layout … it’s just that GOOD!! I knew right away when I saw that “Little Moments” acrylic piece that I had to create something with my little puppy and his “Little Moments” during the first few months being with us!

EllesStudio-Candi-LittleMoments2
I love the little cluster of Bits and Pieces that I used in the upper left hand corner – it even includes some vellum pieces that are great for layering and included in the Bits and Pieces pack.

EllesStudio-Candi-LittleMoments3
Underneath my 5 instax photos I trimmed down a few strips of the 12×12 “Highlights” and stapled those down in place.

EllesStudio-Candi-LittleMoments4
Then, on each little photo I added either a wood veneer or some Bits and Pieces from the Little Moments collection. To finish it off, I adhered the acrylic piece down along with some cutouts!

Don’t forget to mark your calendar/planner for March 10th when this new collection will be available in the Elle’s Studio shop, along with the March kit + extras, and some sale items! It’s going to be a BIG day!

Project Life with Toni From

Happy Wednesday! Toni From here today to show you how I put together a week in my Project Life album using supplies from Elle’s Studio.

The first step for me is always to pull together the photos and stories I want to tell.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments01Next I gather my supplies. I always end up getting out more than I use, but it is so much easier to put a layout together when you have everything in one place. I gathered the Exclusive February Kit, and many items from the brand new Little Moments collection that will be available in the shop, along with the March kit + extras, on March 10th.

Once the supplies and photos are together, then it’s time to start assembling my page. I almost always use the same page protector, so knowing what photo sizes to print ahead of time is super easy. I always start with placing the 4×6 photos first.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments03
Then I move around the 3×4 photos and cards until I like the arrangement. I try to keep the eye flowing through the page. One way I do that is through color placement. In the photos below you will see the color red is used in both the top and bottom photos as well as on the 3×4 journal cards, and embellishments.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments04
Then I get to tell our stories. This week it’s all about the after school activities; swimming and basketball. The journal cards I chose are from the February exclusive kit and the Little Moments collection. The embellishments are also from the February Exclusive Kit and Little Moments collection.

The majority of the photos this week are large, so I chose smaller, thoughtfully placed embellishment groupings. I want the focus to be on the stories and photos and the small die cut embellishments by Elle’s Studio work perfectly to bring extra attention where I want the reader to look.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments05
For the top left photo, I used a heart and banner die-cut to bring your eye to the blurry girl running. That’s my daughter and years from now I want to remember her running back and forth along the court. In the bottom left photo, I stapled a “these moments” die-cut right in the middle of the photo, drawing attention to my son stretching out his arm to beat the swimmer in the next lane. That kid has quite a reach!

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments06EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments07
I hope looking at how I put together a week in my Project Life album inspires you to pull out your favorite Elle’s Studio products and be creative. It doesn’t have to be complicated, and Elle’s Studio has the perfect finishing touches for your Project Life (and other) creative projects. And, don’t forget to mark your calendar/planner for March 10th when the Little Moments collection will be available in the Elle’s Studio shop, along with the March kit + extras! It’s going to be a BIG day!
