Project Life with Toni From

Happy Wednesday! Toni From here today to show you how I put together a week in my Project Life album using supplies from Elle’s Studio.

The first step for me is always to pull together the photos and stories I want to tell.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom-LittleMoments01Next I gather my supplies. I always end up getting out more than I use, but it is so much easier to put a layout together when you have everything in one place. I gathered the Exclusive February Kit, and many items from the brand new Little Moments collection that will be available in the shop, along with the March kit + extras, on March 10th.

Once the supplies and photos are together, then it’s time to start assembling my page. I almost always use the same page protector, so knowing what photo sizes to print ahead of time is super easy. I always start with placing the 4×6 photos first.

Then I move around the 3×4 photos and cards until I like the arrangement. I try to keep the eye flowing through the page. One way I do that is through color placement. In the photos below you will see the color red is used in both the top and bottom photos as well as on the 3×4 journal cards, and embellishments.

Then I get to tell our stories. This week it’s all about the after school activities; swimming and basketball. The journal cards I chose are from the February exclusive kit and the Little Moments collection. The embellishments are also from the February Exclusive Kit and Little Moments collection.

The majority of the photos this week are large, so I chose smaller, thoughtfully placed embellishment groupings. I want the focus to be on the stories and photos and the small die cut embellishments by Elle’s Studio work perfectly to bring extra attention where I want the reader to look.

For the top left photo, I used a heart and banner die-cut to bring your eye to the blurry girl running. That’s my daughter and years from now I want to remember her running back and forth along the court. In the bottom left photo, I stapled a “these moments” die-cut right in the middle of the photo, drawing attention to my son stretching out his arm to beat the swimmer in the next lane. That kid has quite a reach!

I hope looking at how I put together a week in my Project Life album inspires you to pull out your favorite Elle’s Studio products and be creative. It doesn’t have to be complicated, and Elle’s Studio has the perfect finishing touches for your Project Life (and other) creative projects. And, don’t forget to mark your calendar/planner for March 10th when the Little Moments collection will be available in the Elle’s Studio shop, along with the March kit + extras! It’s going to be a BIG day!
