Project Life with Kay Rogers

EllesStudio-ProjectLife-KayRogers01
Today Kay is sharing a Project Life spread with us using our Little Moments collection!

EllesStudio-ProjectLife-KayRogers02
She started off by adding the date in the upper left hand corner on a 4 x 6 tag from our Little Moments 12 x 12 paper, the Jonah stamp set, and our Letter and Number stickers. The journaling tags in the center came from our Little Moments journaling tag set and she then embellished her spread with our labels and tags from our 12 x 12 papers.

EllesStudio-ProjectLife-KayRogers03
For the right side, she started off the same way with the date in the upper left hand corner on a 4 x 6 tag from our Little Moments journaling tags, the Jonah stamp set, and our Letter and Number stickers. She also used papers from our 12 x 12 paper collection to make her own 3 x 4 tags, and embellished the spread with our Little Moments Bits and Pieces. We love how her pocket pages came together!

We would love to see how you are using our products in your Project Life albums! Make sure you share your projects with us in our Member Gallery or on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Don’t Forget to be Awesome by Daniela Dobson

Welcome to the Elle’s Studio blog post today. It’s Daniela here sharing a layout using our new May 2016 Kit and exclusive products. I have a board on Pinterest with various quotes and while I was looking at it the other day one jumped out at me and I wanted to use it on a layout, stamped with the Marie Alphabet stamp.

Awesome-by-Daniela-DobsonProducts used: Elle’s Studio May 2016 Kit, Marie Alphabet stamp, Captured stamp, Little Moments 6×6 paper stack, Little Moments – Word Labels, Little Moments – Bits and Pieces,
Good Stuff Puffy Stickers, Little Moments Stamp, and The Story Of Stamp.

I started with two photos on the bottom right side. From there I added tags and bits from the May kit above the photos. I had to make sure the stamping would fit on the left side.

Awesome-close-by-Daniela-Dobson
I stamped the title in gray ink and “awesome” in different colors with the Marie alphabet stamp. I filled in the rest of the layout with stamping from different stamp sets using different ink colors, as well. I added a few puffy stickers and some sprinkles of color shine from my stash. In addition, I added some white modeling paste with a stencil to areas of the layout.

Process video with Jen Schow

Hi everyone, Jen here! One of the things I love most about the Elle’s Studio kits is the fact that each kit has a variety of colors. It makes it really easy to pull a few items to match the color scheme for any layout. This time, I chose greens and aquas from the May kit.

EllesStudio-JenSchow-Captured01
I used some of the 3×4 cards + photos to create a grid. This, for me, is the perfect way to use pocket page cards on a traditional layout.

EllesStudio-JenSchow-Captured02
I used “The Good Life” acrylic word for my title. I helped to design it, so that was a bit surreal! I love the way it pops against the aqua stripe pattern from the Little Moments 6×6 Paper Collection.

EllesStudio-JenSchow-Captured03
There is a green card in this kit that says, “summed up in one word”. It’s my favorite, but I used it on another layout. I love that the stamp set immortalizes that phrase for me and I used it here to sum up the joy that my nephew felt sticking his head out of the sunroof!

Little Moments with special guest Elizabeth Gardner

Today we have another of our favorite scrapbookers here to inspire you with her use of Elle’s Studio products! This girl is colorful, both with her hairstyle and with her projects, and we love everything she creates. Please welcome Elizabeth Gardner to the Elle’s Studio blog!

Every once in a while you come across a collection of papers where you just can’t pick a favorite. You want to use every single one, on the same page. I knew I had to do that with these papers from the Little Moments collection. They have such a gorgeous color palette and I just LOVE how they look all cut up and mixed together!

GoodLife_ElizabethG
To achieve this look, I punched patterned paper from the Little Moments 12” x 12” paper collection and 6” x 6” paper stack into squares, then cut those pieces diagonally, mixing them up and using both sides of the paper. I roughed up the edges of the patterned paper just a bit to give the page some texture, then I placed the triangle pieces back into square shapes on my background and sewed diagonally through each one. Boom! I used them all, and they are beautiful!

Elizabeth518_TryThis
On the right, I balanced my squares with some tags from the May 2016 exclusive kit, Little Moments bits and pieces, and Little Moments word labels above my journaling.

GoodLifeCloseup_ElizabethG
How great is The Good Life acrylic element as a title on the nice white cardstock background? SO great! I finished off this side with some stars from the Good Stuff puffy stickers and some ink splatters and called my page complete!

Hello there! I’m so excited to be guest designing for Elle’s Studio. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a mom of four, wife to a man I refer to only as “Hottie,” & owner of a velcro dog named Mr. Snicklefritz McGee. I am addicted to playing roller derby and changing my hair color. I’m also a stone cold crafting/art/scrapbooking nerd and am proud of it! I get ridiculously excited over watercolors and scrappy products hot off the presses. I have tried my hand at just about every medium of art but scrapbooking is my constant. It’s my jam. I typically do pocket pages and 12×12 pages… at least 4 a week. So I guess you could say I am one productive nerd! Thanks for having me. It was a pleasure!

You can find more of Elizabeth’s work at her blog, My Scrappy Life, and on her Instagram feed! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome layout, Elizabeth!

We would love to hear from you!

PROJECT LIFE WITH JENNI HUFFORD

Hello!  Today I want to a page from my Spring Break album.IMG_9425

I am slowly trying to put together our Spring Break album from this year!  I love putting together travel albums because it is like “re-living” your trip all over again.  And especially when it includes Disney!

IMG_9416

I was lucky to have Elle join us in Florida for Spring Break this year!  She flew out to hang with me and the kids (my husband was able to join us later in the week) and we split our time at the beach and Disney!   I primarily used the Elle’s Studio May 2016 Kit along with the Travelogue Journaling Cards to create this spread!

IMG_9420

When we checked in to our hotel we received flowered leis- I added one of the flowers to the spread.  I also just love the acrylic sunglasses— perfect for sunny Florida!

IMG_9422

I used the “pie chart” journaling card from the Travelogue Journaling Tags to show what our day consisted of in the park!

Stamping with Jill Sprott

Each month brings a new release to Elle’s Studio, and I always look forward to discovering what Elle has in store for us. The stamp sets are always a buzzworthy highlight, though this month’s alphabet stamp set is generating even more buzz than usual, as evidenced in the following layout:

Bees-ES-Jill-BLOGSupplies: Marie alphabet stamps; Elle’s Studio May kit; Little Moments Paper CollectionElle’s Studio Letter & Number Stickers — Black

Yep, those are indeed bees! This layout tells the story of the time a swarm of bees moved into the neighborhood, and chose to make our front yard their temporary residence.

Using the “B” and the “Z” from the Marie alphabet stamp set, I repeatedly stamped the two letters across the background of a sheet of Little Moments “Bloom” paper. The stripes on the paper offered ready-made guidelines for the stamped letters.

Bees-det-stamping-BLOG
The effect enhances the overall theme of the page while also depicting the incessant buzzing that we heard in the background while the bees were visiting.

Bees-det-journaling-BLOG
Because the stamped background was so busy and bold, the eye needed a place to rest, which is why I built the rest of the page in simple layers atop solid-colored cardstock. Although honeybee yellow and black are the primary colors of the page, I worked in some green as well, drawing from the leaves in the photo.

Although I most often use letter stamps to create titles, it was fun to try something different here. I’d love to see how you use the letter stamps on your projects.  Be sure to share your layouts in the Elle’s Studio gallery or on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Mini Album with Michelle Wedertz

Hi everyone! Michelle here, and I’ve recently caught the mini-album bug! As I was skimming through the journaling tags in May’s Kit, I thought that they would be just perfect to create a short and sweet album documenting my recent trip to visit family. Since I am still an album novice, using journaling tags as a foundation for one takes a lot of pressure away from creating one entirely from scratch. The 3×4 cards create a nice canvas while providing the structure I need to keep moving through the process of making the album.

EllesStudio-MichelleWedertz-Mini01Supplies: May 2016 Kit; May Digital Cut File,  Acrylic “The Good Life“; Little Moments: Journaling Tags, Bits and Pieces, and 6×6 Paper Pack; Letter’s and Numbers Sticker Light Gray; and Puffy Stickers.

So far in my limited mini-album making experience, I have learned that I really like having elements peaking out from behind pages.  With the cards being the album base, I reached for the Little Moments 6×6 Paper Pack to create a few pages that were sized larger than 3×4. I also used the paper to cut out a few tabs from May’s Cut Files with my Silhouette.  As I was placing embellishments I made sure to offset  some of them so that you could get a little peek at them before turning the page. My final touch was to add the acrylic “The Good Life” to the very front of the album, so that it laid on top of a journaling tag (also from the Little Moments Collection).

Here’s a look at the rest of the mini-album:

Project Life with Maggie Massey

Happy Friday everyone! Maggie here, back again with a pocket scrap page I’ve created using this month’s May Exclusive Kit.

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-MaykitSUPPLIES: May Kit, Captured Stamp, Little Moments 6×6 Paper Pad, Little Moments Wood Veneer, Letter & Number Stickers: Black

I usually document my family’s everyday in my planner, so my pocket scrap pages usually center around an event instead of weekly memory-keeping. I love this type of documenting because it gives me the opportunity to use a number of photos, and to keep things fairly simple…the cards themselves do most of the embellishing work!

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-Maykit-a
My daughter recently turned 13 (sob!) so I snapped a few photos of her on her birthday to document this occasion. I printed out 2 of my photos at 2″x2″ and adhered them directly to a couple of the 3″x4″ journaling cards from the kit. I love the way the cards frame the photos!

One of my larger photos was only 4″x5″ so I just tucked a scrap of Little Moments patterned paper behind the photo to make it 4″x6″…now it fits right into its pocket.

A little piece of the Little Moments My Favorite paper cut to 3″x4″ fits in perfectly as an extra card.

EllesStudio-MaggieMassey-Maykit-b
I didn’t include a ton of journaling on this spread because there wasn’t a whole lot to write about…I simply wanted to document her…and the fact that she is now a teenager (again, sob!). A few little embellishments from the kit finish this page off!

Thank you so much for taking a look! Don’t forget to share your projects with us in our Member Gallery or on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Sketch Thursday

EllesStudio-SketchThursday-05-12-16
Good Morning! It’s Melissa here with you this morning and I’m sharing a layout I made using this month’s kit and digital files! I was super excited when I got the sketch from Elle and saw that it was based off a layout originally designed by Jill Sprott. I’ve always had a scrappy crush on Jill and love how she journals on layouts!

Sketch_MLM1
I pretty much followed her layout except that while she used muted colors, I used a brighter color palette. I also love how this layout can be interpreted to be lifted just as she did or you could use 4 different photos or three photos! I decided to use one photo and use two blocks for my journaling. The block above the picture was used for some little bits stuffed here and there. I really liked how she stitched around and around the “AM” and “PM” on the journaling cards and used that element to stitch around the “Important” and “Love This” blocks on my 3×4 cards I used.
