Project Life with Melissa Mann

Good Morning! This is Melissa here with you this morning and I’m sharing some of my Project Life Album!

EllesStudio-MelissaMann-ProjectLife4
I changed my album size up this year and dropped down to the 6×8 size from the 9×12 size I used last year. I love the fact that my spreads are coming together so much quicker, but I am REALLY missing the size/room of the 9×12 album. I’m not sure if I’ll continue the whole year in this size or not, but for now, I’m going to stick with it!

EllesStudio-MelissaMann-ProjectLife5Products used: “Shine Bright” Stamp Set, “Sunny Days” Stamp Set, Little Moments Paper Collection, Letters and Numbers stickers – light gray, Wood Veneer Camera, and July 2016 exclusive kit.

I used some of the pattern papers from the “Little Moments” pattern paper collection to back my 4×6 pictures on and then stitched them down using my sewing machine. I pretty much do this with every spread I complete. I love the stitched look running through my entire album. I used some of the great die-cuts and labels from last month’s kit to add stamping/journaling to my photos. I REALLY loved that wood veneer camera  and was excited to finally use that in my album!

A sneak peek at what is coming on August 10th!

ElleStudio-AugustKitSneak
Happy August, everyone! Our next launch is almost here and brings us another great kit + coordinating extras that will have you ready to document your treasured summer moments and capture your memories all month long! We also have a bunch of coordinating extras this month – they include a stamp, acrylics, and wood veneers!

Get ready to pick up our August kit for our launch day special pricing of only $9.99 on Wednesday, August 10th, at 8:00 am PST. After the 10th, our kits go back to their regular price of $11.99. These kits can ship first class, so depending on your location, shipping starts out at around $2 for USA, and $6+ for international.

This month also brings some very exciting changes to Elle’s Studio! A couple months ago we took a survey and had over 400 awesome responses! We loved reading your feedback and wanted to implement some changes as soon as we could to make our monthly kits better than ever!

The first change we wanted to make was regarding the tags included in our monthly kits. Almost everyone wanted to see more die cuts and 3 x 4 inch tags included each month. We also had a lot of people mention they didn’t use the 3 x 3 inch tags at all, and if they wanted to, they could always cut down a 3 x 4 inch tag to that size.

So, we did a little rearranging and configuring to be able to make this happen, and still be able to offer the kit on launch day for $9.99. We ended up condensing the kit packaging, turning the 3 x 3 inch tags to 3 x 4 inch, and putting our die cuts on pre-cut sheets!

ElleStudio-AugustKitSneak-diecuts
Here’s a peek at how our die cuts will come now! Each kit will now include even more die cuts, that come pre-cut on two sheets, so all you have to do is punch them out! This will also help keep your die cuts organized, makes them easier to store, and handier to pull out each time you are ready to create something!

We are so excited that our August kit will be the first kit to include these changes and will come with 3 – 4 x 6 inch tags, 18 – 3 x 4 inch tags, and 2 die cut sheets (that include 26 die cuts!!!).

We are also working hard behind-the-scenes on some more changes to our website – stay tuned for even more VERY exciting news!

Make sure you set your alarm and mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 10th at 8:00 am PST! If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter, make sure you do to receive a reminder of when everything is available for sale!  We hope to see you there and we hope you love these changes as much as we do!

Pocket Pages using the July kit with Jamie Leija

EllesStudio-JamieLeija-092415-01
Hiya, it’s Jamie! This month, I did something I’ve never done. I made a process video for a pocket page!! It’s hard for me to believe that not very long ago, I wasn’t a fan of pocket style scrapbooking. I thought it was so hard!! Fast forward to today when I love putting them together! I think partly because Elle’s products make them so easy to create.

EllesStudio-JamieLeija-092415-04
Products used: July 2016 Monthly Kit, Travelogue Stamps, Letter & Number Stickers—Light Gray, Little Moments Journaling Tags, Little Moments Bits & Pieces, Good Stuff Puffy Stickers, Sunny Days – Large Blank Labels, Sunny Days – Bits & Pieces, Sunny Days – Puffy Stickers, You’re the Sweetest Stamp, and January Digital Cut File

This was fun for me to make and also to film. I had zero ideas about what I was going to do on this page. I just pulled out my Elle’s Studio stash and started playing.

My spreads tend to be very photo heavy. So I have a few go-to “tricks” for embellishing my photos. I stamp, add die cuts, and add letter stickers.

EllesStudio-JamieLeija-092415-05 EllesStudio-JamieLeija-092415-06
Using a journaling tag, a blank label and a piece of packaging, I created my own custom 3×4 card. It’s more layered and perfectly coordinates with the color scheme I went for on this page: red, white, blue and gray!

EllesStudio-JamieLeija-092415-07
And, here’s some close-ups of the rest of the spread:

I love how the spread turned out. It was fun to just play with my stash and see what I could put together with it. That’s one of the awesome things about Elle’s products, they all coordinate!

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to tag your creations using the July kit with #ellesstudio on Instagram! We can’t wait to see what you’re creating!

Travelogue Highlight with Meghann Andrew

Hi there! It’s Meghann here today, and I’d love to remind you about an awesome set of products in the Elle’s Studio shop, the Travelogue mini collection, and share a new layout with you.

When paired with the Sunny Days collection, this travel-focused set worked perfectly to document a special moment on a trip my family took to Boston last fall. The brighly colored buoys in the background of my photo worked perfectly with the bright colors in the ES tags and embellishment. The aptly named Sunny Days Adventures woodgrain paper provided the perfect neutral pattern for my background behind my photo, and allowed the colors in my photo to pop. I simply die-cut the word “Boston” on the left side of the paper, adding the “here and now” journaling tag to the center, between my title and photo.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Travelogue02
Using the colors found in my photo, I selected small tags from the Travelogue labels and the Sunny Days bits and pieces to layer on top of the manufacturer’s strip from the Sunny Days Documented paper, popping a couple of the tags up with dimensional adhesive. I also added small embellishment from the Sunny Days puffy stickers as well as enamel dots to colorblock around the tags.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-Travelogue03
I kept the remainder of my embellishment simple, adding stamped words, the Sunny Days bits and pieces “favorite photos” tag, washi tape, a flair badge and a Sunny Days puffy star sticker. To add the date to my page, I used the tab die to cut a date tab from the Sunny Days 6” x 6” paper stack yellow pattern.

I’ve loved using the Travelogue collection to document my family’s adventures! What travels, whether future or past, can you document with these beautiful products?

You are my Sunshine with Nancy Damiano

Hey there! Nancy here today with a bit of a hybrid layout. I started out by creating this layout of my son and his neighborhood friends. This told the story of why we love where we live right now. The group of boys that can be found playing in our yard is a big part of why we stay here. This was an important part of our story as a family!

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-YouAreMySunshine01
While I love the layout, I didn’t have room for some of my favorite pictures through the years. The photos weren’t technically great (bad lighting), but something I wanted to document and remember. The solution – half traditional page, half project life spread!

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-YouAreMySunshine02SUPPLIES: Sunny Days 6×6 Paper Pad, Little Moments 12 x 12 paper, Elle’s Studio Exclusive July Kit, Sunny Days Puffy Stickers, Sunny Days Journaling Tags, Sunny Days Wood Veneer, True Story acrylic, Captured Stamp, and Wood Veneer Camera.

I used the Sunny Days collection and the July kit to create this side by side spread. The layout side includes some hand stitched hearts that add a nice handmade touch, sprinkled with the beautiful puffy stickers from Sunny Days and the wood veneer camera from the July extras. Some scattered words and stamping complete the cascade of embellishments.

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-YouAreMySunshine03
The project life side is pretty simple. One card is embellished with a puffy sun, a die cut and some stamping. I filled one pocket with the veneer camera and dressed it up a bit with a puffy heart sticker from Sunny Days and some enamel dots. That adds just the right amount of color!

EllesStudio-NancyDamiano-YouAreMySunshine04
Sunny Days + the exclusive July kits are the perfect compliment to all of your photos and stories! We’d love to see how you are capturing your summer – Make sure you use the #EllesStudio hashtag when sharing your projects on Instagram for a chance to be featured on our feed!

Our July kit with special guest Jamie Waters

By now, you should have had some time to play with your July kit, and we hope you are in love with the bright, fun colors, which coordinate so perfectly with the Sunny Days collection. Today, we’re excited to share another project by Jamie Waters – an amazing layout that captures the joy of summer using Sunny Days and the July exclusives. Let’s take a look:

EllesStudio-JamieWaters-05
Sometimes when you have great product sitting on your desk, you just have to use as much of it as you can on a layout- especially when you have a standout photo to document that requires no words at all.

EllesStudio-JamieWaters-06Supplies | Sunny Days 12” x 12” paper collection, Sunny Days 6” x 6” paper stack, Sunny Days bits and pieces, Sunny Days word labels, Sunny Days puffy stickers, Documented stamp, Noteworthy stamp, Shine Bright stamp, Star Circle acrylics, vellum hearts, acrylic stars- summer mix

This gorgeous photo, printed in black and white became the perfect central focus for a radiation of embellishment, with just a few supplies! By cutting apart elements from the ‘More Sunshine’ 12” x 12” paper, mixing in the Sunny Days bits and pieces and adding strips of 6” x 6” patterned paper, an entire background can be filled, using the ‘More Stars’ sunburst background paper as a guide.

EllesStudio-JamieWaters-07
To add varying texture, a few acrylic stars and vellum hearts filled in spaces between the paper elements, which all emanated from this summery photo.

EllesStudio-JamieWaters-08

EllesStudio-JamieWatersI took a break from scrapbooking after a very consistent 10 years. After 3 years of my hiatus, I longed for the craft and the process. My children who were once young when I used to scrapbook are now teenagers- I have a 10 year old, a 15 year old, a 17 year old and a 21 year old. We recently got our family’s first puppy whom we all adore to pieces! I teach at Big Picture Classes and Studio Calico. I contribute at the Paislee Press and Kelly Purkey teams each month. I love good food that I don’t have to cook, pretty design and paper, naps, romcoms and perfect 75 degree days.

You can find more of Jamie’s work at her blog, There Was This One Time…, and her Instagram account. Thank you for sharing your beautiful designs using Elle’s Studio products with us, Jamie!

Mini Album with Maggie Massey

Hello, hello! Maggie here with a little mini-album I created with the July kits & extras!

ES-MM-jProducts used: July 2016 kit, Good Times Tabs, Star Circle Acrylics, Sunny Days Journaling Tags, Sunny Days stamp, and Letters & Numbers: Black.

I am all about getting projects done quickly & easily, so for this album I followed a few simple steps for each of the pages and finished this baby up in about an hour!

To start, I sized the photos I wanted to use to 3″x4″ and printed them. Next I flipped through the cards I had left in my July kit and pulled out the cards I wanted to use.

After I had decided which cards I wanted to go with which photos, I cut pieces of white cardstock to 6″x4″…

ES-MM-a
…and attached each of my photo/journaling card pairs to them.

ES-MM-b

Then I sewed around each of my newly created “pages.”

ES-MM-c

When my page bases were all done, I followed a simple formula to decorate each of those bases.

First, I added a few embellishments…

ES-MM-d
Then I journaled a little something on each page…

ES-MM-e

And finally I added a little bit of stamping.

ES-MM-f

When each of album pages was finished, I punch a hole through my stack…

ES-MM-g

And added a book ring and one of the darling little Star Circle Acrylics.

ES-MM-h

Wanna see my completed pages?

I think the best part about this album is that I was able to get a fantastic afternoon documented in really no time at all. By keeping things simple I was able to create a cohesive little album that I really love!

Thanks so much for taking a look!

Lizzy’s Favorite Things Layout by Meghann Andrew

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-01
Hey there, ES fans! It’s Meghann here with you today. When I first opened my July 2016 exclusive kit, I instantly loved the pie chart 4” x 6” tag, as well as the pie chart acrylic piece. How fun is that gorgeous, colorful acrylic chart? It instantly reminded me of another layout I created for ES back in 2014.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-02
Oh, wow, I loved that layout! I loved the design, and especially that it documented the things my daughter loved most at that age. So, taking that as inspiration, I decided to do the same thing again, using the July kit and add-ons.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-03Supplies | July 2016 exclusive kit, Sunny Days 12” x 12” paper collection, Jordan alphabet stamp- outline, acrylic pie chart, favorite acrylic, star circle acrylics, July 2016 digital cut file, vellum hearts, letter and number stickers- teal.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-04
My acrylic pie chart became the central focus of the layout, attached to my photos with stitched lines, and wonky stitched circles around the photos.

EllesStudio-MeghannAndrew-05
I kept my title eccentric and playful by combining the Jordan alphabet stamp, favorite acrylic and teal letter stickers.

To show you how I created the entire layout, I created a process video! So grab a cuppa and your July kit, and get inspired! Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to tag your creations using the July kit with #ellesstudio on Instagram! We can’t wait to see what you’re creating!
