Hello, friends! It’s Michelle here today sharing a pocket page adventure using the July 2021 Kit and add-ons! This outdoor adventure theme in this month’s release inspired me to document a place that had been one of our favorite running and walking trails for nearly a decade. We don’t live near it anymore, but it holds a pretty special place in my heart and we have had miles of memories and a pretty special journey through these wooded paths. I had such a wonderful time using this beautiful release while reminiscing all of those memories in this layout!
Supplies | July 2021 Kit, July Labels, Adventure Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Neutrals, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers – Cool Tones, The Great Outdoors Wood Veneers, Acrylic Trees, Adventure Paper Stack, Summertime Tabs Stamp, The Great Outdoors Stamp, Love this Smile Stamp, Parker Alphabet Stamp, Title Builder Stamp, Nesting Tags Metal Die
I started this layout with my journaling and selected the gray travel paper from the Adventure Paper Stack. I thought it might be fun to journal on vellum and place it over the paper so that you could still have some soft visibility of that awesome paper. I left enough space to the left of the journaling so I could use that fun chipboard “Go See Do” phrase from the Adventure Chipboard Stickers. Are you a chipboard fan too? I LOVE chipboard stickers and also used a few other pieces—that white directional chipboard piece in the left corner and the gray rectangle chipboard at the bottom with “the great outdoors” stamped on it using the Summertime Tabs Stamp.
I then moved onto selecting my tags from the July Kit. I loved the “adventure is out there” pocket tag for my opening pocket and since I had already done my journaling, I decided to embellish it instead of using it for journaling. Since this layout was about one of our favorite places, the “my favorite place” The Great Outdoors Wood Veneers piece was just perfect. I am also pretty smitten with those Acrylic Trees in the shop! They are just beautiful and I added one along with a sweet chipboard geotag from the Adventure Chipboard Stickers.
Next, I added the “123” pocket tag from the July Kit along with the “let’s go for a hike” wood veneer from the The Great Outdoors Wood Veneers. Those were a must to use on this layout and I used a few of those cute and colorful die cut tags from the July Kit to layer under the wood veneer. I just love the boldness of it mixed with that pop of color. I then used that hint of blue arrow pocket tag and paired it up with a few of the die cut tags from the July kit and added the “let’s explore” green July Label. I stamped that sweet leaf from The Great Outdoors Stamp and “photo op” from the Love this Smile Stamp for an accent. I completed it with the sweet green puffy heart from the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers. I love how even simple embellishing can bring a bit more life to your pocket.
Once my pocket tag selections were done, I knew I had one extra pocket so I decided to make my own pocket tag. = I used the green topography paper from the Adventure Paper Stack and grabbed a few of the Adventure Chipboard Stickers, including that gorgeous green tree for added dimension to the pocket. I used the Nesting Tags Metal Die to make my own tag with paper from the paper stack and finished it off by stamping “this way” from The Great Outdoors Stamp on the gray arrow die cut from the July Kit.
The last thing I decided to do for my pocket page was to use that incredible topography stamp from the The Great Outdoors Stamp to create an opening page to the left of my pocket page. I absolutely love this stamp and thought it would be fun to make an opening layout with a heartfelt quote about what this special place means to me. I used the stamp to create a repeated stamped background and then I used my favorite alpha stamp, the Parker Alphabet Stamp to stamp out the quote along with the word “LOVE” from the Title Builder Stamp. I added more Adventure Chipboard Sticker accents and finished up by adding the white puffy heart from the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers. I also added three fussy cut leaves from the The Great Outdoors Stamp.
Originally I shared with you that this adventure release inspired me to document this special place and the idea for this opening page will continue past this blog post. I have started the process of gathering many of the photos we’ve taken over the years of this place and this layout will become an opening pocket to fold open with mini photos of our adventures on these trails all those years ago. That is my favorite part about pocket page scrapbooking: you have the freedom to add as many memories as you want, whenever you want and this release certainly inspired me to do just that!
I really enjoyed sharing this special pocket page today that the July 2021 Kit and add-ons inspired me to create. I hope you’ll share your own adventures and your inspiration from this release using the #ellesstudio hashtag on Instagram and over in the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group too! I am so excited to see your memories come to life with this release! Happy creating, friends!
