Halloween Treats with Maggie Massey

It doesn’t take much effort to make someone’s day, and using the new Halloween goodies found in the shop, a thoughtful and easy gift for a neighbor or friend is just a few minutes away! Today Maggie Massey is showing us just how simple gift-giving can be!

Hey hey everyone! It’s Maggie here with a look at a fun little Halloween treat bag I put together using the Happy Halloween Journaling Tags, some patterned paper from the Family Fun Collection & the darn adorable Halloween Puffy Stickers!

I love creating little treat & gift bags to give to neighbors and friends during the holidays—it’s the perfect way to say “thank you,” “I’m thinking of you,” or “you’re the best for bringing my garbage bins in last Wednesday!”

I started by creating the bag itself using the Family Fun 12×12 Patterned Paper, and then I got down to the fun stuff. I layered up some of my favorite Happy Halloween Journaling Tags, which I had rounded the corners with a punch, punched a hole in the tops, and added a bit of ribbon. It could not have been easier!

I knew I wanted to add some of those awesome Halloween Puffy Stickers to my project, but I also wanted to do something a little different with them.

I chose my favorites and adhered them to a piece of white cardstock. Then I cut around each of them using small, sharp scissors. Next, I used a small sewing needle and some thread and sewed each little candy piece to a length of baker’s twine.

I wound the baker’s twine around my ribbon to create a fun tassel of puffy shapes and added some candy corn to the inside of my bag (my favorite!) and the goodie bag was done!

Now I just need to make a few more and I’ll be all set with little treats to hand out all October long.
