Hello Autumn with Michelle Flynn

Hi friends! Can you believe autumn is right around the corner! September is one of my favorite months of the year when those last days of summer sunshine lead into autumn, my favorite season of the year! The September 2022 kit and add-ons are so beautiful and they inspired me to document this sweet September day.

Supplies | September 2022 Kit, Autumn Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Autumn Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers, Thankful Paper Stack, Thin Labels Stamp, Attacher Metal Die

I don’t really feel as if I have a particular style, but I have noticed that I’m really drawn to a monochromatic color scheme. I just love a variety of tones from the same color and Elle’s Studio has such beautiful shades of all colors. I chose two perfect pocket tags for the season from the September 2022 Kit. They both have such pretty shades of green that just draw me in. One of my favorite things to do when the monthly kit arrives is the fun selection process of pocket tags and die cuts and the inspiration it brings. I enjoy searching for the perfect pocket tags that compliment the photos and the memories.

For the top pocket tag from the September 2022 Kit I decided to use a cropped photo in the journaling space, it’s another simple way to get full use from your pocket tags. I added a sweet puffy heart in the middle of the design at the top of the pocket tag using the Tiny Autumn Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers. With my tiny stapler, I adhered the perfect autumn sentiment using the die cuts from the September Kit. Just a few little added elements on one pocket tag really brought this moment to life. The bottom pocket tag, “Thankful” is such a favorite. How absolutely beautiful is the script and color on this tag! I adore it! I used the fun new Thin Labels Stamp to create a simple stamped journaling grid that kept with my monochrome theme.

I moved to the right side of my layout and decided to go with a full-size photo from this September day which gave me an opportunity to use the Attacher Metal Die, and friends, I just can’t stop using this die! It’s quickly become a fast favorite! I used a sheet of green striped paper from the Thankful Paper Stack and it was perfect for the color tones in this layout.

After adhering the attachers to the full-size photo, I still had two photos I wanted to include in this spread. I made a quarter-inch slit in the middle of my full-size photo and cropped both photos in an effort to create a flip of both photos which would lay directly on top of the full-size photo. I backed the top photo with white cardstock, it’s one of my favorite photos with the green and burgundy shades on the tree, it was like a tiny peek into autumn on this September day and I think it coordinates perfectly with the shades of colors I used from the September Kit.

I still had my Attacher Metal Die out and I had an idea to make one more attacher, only this one would be used as a tiny door to open the flip. I ran the die through my big shot and I cropped off a small piece of it, adhered it to the outside of the photo, and realized it did work perfectly as a little door to open the flip. I love the shape of it and it was super fun to find one more way to use the new dies!

I chose the gorgeous “autumn captured” pocket tag from the September Kit and sized it down for the backside of the flip. I adhered my second photo to it—a beautiful little water spring we came upon that day. I love the autumn look of it adhered to that pocket tag. I finished this layout off by adding a sweet little white chipboard heart to my full-size photo using the Autumn Chipboard Stickers. I added another adorable puffy heart with the same tones in my layout using the Tiny Autumn Hearts and Stars Puffy Stickers.
