Five Ways With the Star Notes Die Cuts

Hello there, ES fans, and happy Friday! One of our favorite products in the shop this month has to be the Star Notes Die Cuts! We just love their pretty, summery colors, their ability to document AND embellish, and the fact that this die cut pack is filled with stars—such a usable shape!

In case your Star Notes Die Cuts are still in your box, waiting to be used, we want to show you five different ways to do that this weekend!

1. Create a Visual Triangle

Successful embellishment is often found in groups of threes, and in Junell’s layout, she created a triangle of star groupings, perfect for making her photos take center stage!

2. Use them as a base for color-blocking

Sarah may have used a lot of embellishment here, but it’s not overwhelming! That’s because she color-blocked her groupings, keeping the same hues together. We love that she started these groupings with the Star Notes Die Cuts, choosing smaller embellishments like our Puffy Star Stickers to add to the top.

3. Create a grid

The Star Notes Die Cuts come in different shapes—square, rectangular and circular journaling spots, as well as stars, making them perfect for creating an out-of-the box grid, like Wei Wei did here on the left side of her notebook spread!

4. Use them in multiples

Suzanna had a great idea here on her layout to use three of the Star Notes Die Cut journaling labels here to compare three different finishes for her daughter’s swim meet. What can you compare by using three or more of these handy die cuts?

5. Create a wreath

The Star Notes Die Cut pack comes with 30+ stars, labels, circles, and more, plenty to create a wreath on your layout as Melissa created here. Pair them with die cut shapes from the Star Notes Metal Die and you’ll be well on your way to a beautiful layout design!

We can’t wait to see which of these ideas inspires you, or what you come up with on your own! Be sure to share with us in the Facebook Group or on Instagram using the #EllesStudio hashtag!
